~Part 2~
Kurt woke up the next day and slowly opened his eyes. Sam wasn't in bed. Probably already went to work. Kurt had the day off again so he was home alone until 4:30. Kurt got up and headed downstairs. On the kitchen island was a note from Sam.
Good morning baby. I hope you slept well. I am at work but if you need anything text or call me. I'll be home around 4:30 as usual but don't get anything out for dinner I have a surprise for you. I love you, Kurt. I hope you have a good day and I can't wait to see you when I get home.
Love, Sam
Kurt smiled at the letter. Sam always made sure to write a quick note if he left before Kurt was awake so he knew where he went. Kurt went into the living room and sat down on the couch. He turned on the TV and flipped through the channels to see if anything interesting was on. He came to one channel that was playing Gray's Anatomy. That's when he remembered the previous night. On that episode, a guy was brought into the hospital for a Tylenol overdose. Kurt turned his head and his eyes drifted to the bathroom. He was quickly snapped out of his thoughts when his phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was his brother Finn called. He answered and held his phone to his ear.
"Hello?" Kurt said.
"Hey Kurt! You won't believe what they're selling at the bakery! You have to come her now!" Finn said happily.
"And what are they selling Finn?" Kurt asked.
"FREE DONUTS! If you buy a dozen cronuts but that's not the point. The point is, you have to come here right now!" Finn told him.
"Whatever. I'll be there in a minute Finn," Kurt sighed.
Kurt hung up and turned off the TV. He went upstairs and got dressed and then went to his car. He drove to the bakery and went in. As he looked around for Finn, a guy bumped into his shoulder. Kurt stumbled back a little and turned to look at the person. "Sorry!" he called. The guy turned around and walked over to Kurt.
"What did you say to me?" The guy asked.
"I said sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you," Kurt replied.
"I bumped into you," the guy told him.
"O-oh?" Kurt said confused.
"You gay people think you can just go wherever you want without normal people around, don't you?" the guy said.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Kurt said.
"Maybe I can teach you a lesson. What's your name?" the guy asked.
Kurt looked for Finn, hoping he'd be able to find his big brother before this guy caused anymore trouble. A hand gripped at Kurt's arm and he flinched. Kurt turned his head and stared at the stranger holding him in place.
"Please just let me go," Kurt said quietly.
"You deserve to learn a lesson. Especially for ignoring me asshole," the man hissed.
Kurt tried to pull his arm away but the guy was holding onto him too tight. The guy raised his other hand and before Kurt had time to react, he felt a sharp pain in his cheek. Kurt gasped and put his hand over his cheek. He felt the hand holding his arm get ripped away but wasn't paying attention. A few moments later he felt hands on his shoulders and was shook out of his thoughts. Kurt looked at his brother.
"Kurt are you ok?!" Finn asked.
Kurt nodded. Finn ushered him out of the café and into the car.
"Come on dude. I'll drive you home," Finn told him.
"Y-Your car," Kurt said.
"I'll get it later. I just want to get you home," Finn told him.
Finn got in the car and drove back to Kurt's house. He helped Kurt inside and laid him down on the couch. Kurt stared at the blank TV while Finn grabbed his phone and dialed a number. Kurt didn't know who he was calling but he heard bits and pieces of the conversation.
"Hey man, it's Finn… no, no he's fine… yeah well uh- there was an incident… he's fine dude… this guy was bugging him at Lima Bean and hit him… he's home and I think he's resting but he's just staring at the TV… nah it's not on… ok… yeah… yeah… alright man, see you later."
Finn hung up and knelt in front of Kurt.
"Hey little bro, I'm going to go get my car. You just rest, ok? I called Sam but he's not going to be able to get here for about fifteen minutes so you're gonna be alone for a little bit. You gonna be ok?" Finn asked.
Kurt nodded a little and watched as Finn stood up. He got his things and left, making sure the door was locked. Kurt slowly sat up and looked around. He was hated and he knew that but he never thought his own brother would have to watch someone hit him like that in public. He felt so guilty. He didn't know why, but he felt like the whole thing was all his fault. He deserved it. He deserved worse. That's when he remembered the Gray's Anatomy episode. A guy was brought to the hospital for overdosing on Tylenol. Kurt stood up and walked into the bathroom. He closed and locked the door behind him before opening up the medicine cabinet and taking out the bottle of pills…
