Return of Bunny
Chapter: 2 Family Matters
"I see-" The Professor said. "-and you're sure this'll work?"
"I'm at least eighty-one percent sure it'll go as planned." Matter stated.
"What about the other nineteen percent?" The Professor questioned.
"That percentage represents our chances of dying a horrible death, and having our bodies fry in the deepest parts of hell." Matter pointed out; the distortion in his voice returning.
The girls soon came flying in through the lab entrance. "We've been thinking it over; and I think we know what we can do." Said Blossom.
"Oh you've thought of a plan? I assume you made sure to go over every part of it..." Matter reminded the girls.
"We have; and we can say this plan is eighty-one percent foolproof!" Bunny added.
"And what of the other nineteen percent?" Matter asked.
"That percentage represents our chances of dying a horrible death, and having our bodies fry in the deepest parts of heck." Buttercup stated.
"But we'll do everything in our power to prevent that!" Bubbles yelled out. "Even if it does cost us our lives!" She added.
"Well now that we have everything. We should prepare ourselves for the final battle tomorrow." The Professor stated.
"I couldn't agree more. C'mon girls, let's catch up on our sleep." Blossom ordered.
"Why sleep?" Matter asked.
"Because you can't function properly without a lot of rest." Buttercup butted in.
"Thank you, Buttercup." Blossom told her.
*The girls zip up to their room; bringing Bunny with them*
"What is this sleeping, they speak of?" Matter asked Professor Utonium.
"Sleep is when you turn off your mind for about several hours; and turn it back on only when you feel re-energized; that's called waking up. Well this is my interpretation of it at least." The Professor told Matter.
"I see. As a being of pure darkness, I feel no need for such an activity. I'm always energized at every hour." Matter boasted.
"Well I also need to do it. You can watch if it's for studying purposes. Wait that sounds wrong..." The Professor regretted asking.
"I guess I could... I don't want to seem like some kind of stalker, but I still wish to." Matter accepted the offer.
*Cut to HIM*
"Well. Now is the time I gather up all the remaining evil energy I've been holding back; and use it, TO POWER MYSELF UP!" Energy then started gathering around HIM and then disappeared inside him. "Get ready Powerpuff Girls... I won't be holding back this time..." He said with a nightmarish tone.
*Jumpcut to tomorrow morning*
The girls, Professor, and Matter (who was still watching over the Professor) all got prepared. The girls working on their abilities, Professor Utonium adding one final touch to .MO , and Matter having a talk with his daughter. "Bunny I hope for you to help the girls to the best of your abilities. Now show me what you've learned." Matter is asking Bunny to show him her superpowers she's been working on. She fired lasers, created a quake by punching the ground, and used her special power 'the homing flare'. The homing flare is a superpower only Bunny can use; its ability is in the name. It's purple fire that homes in on its target. "I'm so very impressed; you'll make a great superheroine, and this is only your first battle too!" Matter ended his sentence with a head rub to his daughter.
"Thanks dad. I hope you help us out to the best of your abilities too!" Bunny said cheerfully.
Suddenly there was a red light engulfing the area; HIM was sending a transmission of his face to message his enemies.
"Well hello~ mortal enemies, the creator, and TRAITOR! I know I know; aren't I a little early to the party? You could say that yes. But I'm only here to say that you all better GET YOUR BUTTS TO THE AREA OF BATTLE! Or else I may have to consider this a win by default~ *low evil cackle*.
"We're not gonna let you take over or destroy Townsville HIM!" Blossom yelled out to the floating head.
"If you want to destroy Townsville-" Bubbles started.
"You'll have to go through all six of us!" Buttercup finished.
"This is merely a warning for when we duel!" Bunny stated.
"You'll wish you hadn't messed with this family!" Matter added.
"Prepare yourself!" The Professor shouted.
"Oh I've prepared all I can~ now I just want to see if you're just biting off MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW; or being DEAD serious!" HIM was practically taunting them by this point. "Anyways meet me at the central part of the city where the girls last perished. We'll have our battle there."
*Jumpcut to the beginning of the battle*
Our heroes arrived at the scene. Matter teleporting into view, the girls flying down; hitting the ground with their fists, and The Professor, arriving in the DYNAMO Mark II; preparing for battle. HIM had arrived in a huge puff of smoke; he appeared as a huge dragon like creature with twenty claws and small but strong wings. His face was also formed to look like that of a dragon. His tail was covered with spikes and fins; they looked... bloody. Nobody spoke for a while; until HIM decided to break the silence with a hiss towards his enemies. "Them's fighting words HIM." Bubbles said (presumably because she knows what HIM just said). "Now we begin Blossom?" She then asked.
"Not yet Bubbles." Blossom told her. It took about twenty seconds; but when DYNAMO drew her plasma sword, HIM suddenly dashed towards her. She braced herself but the forehead gem suddenly created a frontal shield like Matter had mentioned earlier. "NOW!" Blossom yelled; everyone then started attacking the huge reptilian demon. Everyone was using all their abilities; useless or not they had to try something to stop HIM. His flying ceased completely when Blossom blew out her ice breath in an energy beam like way. "Woah! An ice beam? Cool!" Blossom then used this upgraded ability to freeze the rest of HIM's wings. He suddenly looked helpless; until he set his body alight; the fire melting the ice off the wings. "And to think we had HIM there." She face palmed for her wishful thinking.
Buttercup was setting up a bomb spike; but couldn't get the timing or placement correct because HIM kept teleporting every time it looked like it was going to hit. "I see you're having troubles; why don't we fix that? Lemme see your arm; the robotic one." Buttercup didn't know what Matter was getting at, but obliged. He used his dark magic to turn her arm into a cannon that can shoot bomb spikes without the need to charge first. "This should make things easier for you; and harder for HIM!" Matter stated.
"Impressive. Thanks again pal." Buttercup then shot upwards while firing multiple bomb spikes. Each one actually managing to hit. "Whaddya know? It really DOES do something to him."
Bubbles was getting tired of firing her eye beams; so she switched to a sonic scream. It wasn't really doing much of anything. "Scream again real quick." Matter ordered; for he had a plan. As she screamed he intensified Bubbles' sonic scream. "I hope you like the volume being set to eleven foul demon!" Matter shouted. HIM couldn't stand the sound and coiled up to prevent the sound from doing further damage.
"Wow! That was awesome! Thanks Mater!" Bubbles said reluctantly.
"It's Matter, Bubbles. But you're welcome." But his thanks was cut off by a claw latching onto him; he quickly teleported away. "You're gonna have to try- *teleports* -a little harder than that- *teleports* -if you want to catch me!" HIM roared angrily; transforming into his own figure; but way larger and it was completely grey, legless, and with wings that had a pulsating pattern.
"I MUST SAY I'M IMPRESSED THAT YOU'VE SURVIVED THIS LONG! BUT THIS IS WHERE YOUR LUCK RUNS OUT!" HIM suddenly shot millions of projectiles from his claws; each one harmlessly bouncing off .MO 's reflector shield.
"You're gonna have to try a little harder than that HIM!" The Professor's voice echoed from inside .MO .
"FINE THEN. YOU WANT ME TO TRY HARDER? HOW'S THIS!?" He then suddenly smashed his claws into the floor; two claws appeared on the front side and back side of .MO . The front ones were blocked off; but the back ones managed to pierce her. .MO 's body then started flashing; and Professor Utonium managed to safely eject himself from the robot's head. .MO then self-destructed; damaging the claws in the process. Although the damage was small; you could still tell.
Professor Utonium screamed as he fell to the ground below. Then a black portal appeared underneath him and sent him back home. He was safe now; it seems Matter had heard him and reacted quick enough to save his life.
"He should be safe for now. I must tend to my daughter and her sisters." Matter then teleported down to where the Powerpuff Girls were fighting; and he joined with them. "We can't hold back any longer; unleash the mega beam!" He shouted to the girls; you'd probably think they'd be wondering what the mega beam is; but nope. It's actually a team attack they've been working on together. Raising their right hands they shot a laser towards the shadowy demon that corresponds to their signature colors. He didn't even feel a thing. "We. Need. More. POWER! I know what I must do... it'll risk my life source but as I said before; 'it'll all be worth it in the end'." His body then disappeared and the remains travelled to and shoved themselves into the girls. They then became powered up with dark energy. This made their mega beam more deadly. Because of this sudden power increase, Mega HIM's body was slowly disappearing.
"WHAT? NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY TIME! THIS WAS SuppOSED TO be my REIGN OF EVil! Were My Plans Just Pointless From The Beginning?" HIM was slowly losing his life force. "This can't be happening to me... This. Cannot. Be. Happening. My life is eternal! Remember this though Powerpuff Girls! It was the energy given off by negative emotions that sustained my ability to live! As long as there is negativity left in this world; I shall always... always... ALWAYS RETURN!" He then exploded into dozens of light particles.
The dark energy removed itself from the Powerpuff Girls; and Matter reformed. "We... we won... yay~" Bunny then fainted to the floor.
"BUNNY!" The girls yelled in shock. "Bunny? Bunny speak to me!" Blossom yelled to her; looking for a response.
Tears started welling up in Bubbles' eyes; as did the other two. "Say it isn't so. Oh please say it isn't so!" Bubbles was fully crying by this point.
"We've lost her once. *Sniff, sniff* I don't want to lose her again..." Buttercup was now crying too.
"I won't be able to live with the fact that the fourth Powerpuff Girl *sniff, sniff* came back; only to die again... I DON'T WANT IT TO BE THIS WAY!" Blossom yelled; broken down in her own tears.
"Girls... let me see her." Matter then took her into his arms; examining her. "She's breathing... but we must be quick. That final blow took all the Chemical X in her system away. I'll need a syringe and some Chemical X!" Matter stated. Blossom flew off to get both items. While she was gone, Bunny coughed up a bit of bile and blood; she was slowly dying. "The more you strain yourself, the more life you'll lose. Please try to keep yourself together." Matter tried to calm his dying daughter.
"I got everything. Now let's do this already." Blossom ordered. Matter took the syringe and absorbed some of the Chemical X into it. He then jabbed Bunny with it; releasing the Chemical X back into her system. The girls flinched when she took the needle to the arm.
"Bring her to my home. *Opens portal* I'll look over her; waiting for her to awaken once again." Matter ordered. They obliged and stepped into the portal. Once they got through completely, they set her down on the springy bed. Blossom then found a sticky note and pen; and wrote something down on it. She took her hairbow off and attached the sticky note to it; and set it down next to Bunny's unconscious body.
"I wish you well; fellow Powerpuff." Blossom ended her sentence with a kiss to Bunny's forehead. She saw a smile creep across the face. "At least we know she's still a-ok; for the time being... at least." Blossom reassured herself. "I don't know what we'd all do without you by our side."
"Let's leave now. Matter should be returning soon; and someone of his power is more fit to look over her for now Red." Buttercup told her sister.
"Yeah... let's... and please stop calling me 'Red'." Blossom said solemnly. The girls then flew out back to their home with half smiles on their faces.
Back at the abandoned house; seconds after they left, Matter reappeared and found his daughter lying down peacefully on the bed. Using his amazing powers, he turned the abandoned house's interior (and exterior) into a more colorful and happy place. "It's what my darling sweet pea would've wanted most." Matter said out loud; but to himself. "This is merely proof that, 'no matter what you are, or how much power you contain in your body; nothing matters more than anything. Except of course... family."
The girls returned home with distraught looks; although not being there himself, the Professor feels as if he knew what happened because of Bunny's absence. He brought the girls upstairs so they could get ready for bed. Destroying HIM once and for all forced the day to immediately become night; and thus the girls really needed to sleep. "I'm sorry for what happened girls." He told them. They nodded and went to sleep. The Professor kissed each one of his daughters on the forehead; and then left the room. "This just goes to show people that, 'no matter who or what you are; monster, animal, plant creature, failed experiment, human, anything; nothing matters more than anything. Except of course... family."
And so once again... the day was saved; and HIM was stopped forever; thanks to Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, Bunny, Professor Utonium, and Matter. Remember this, family matters most. (The End).

After Story sequence: A purple asymmetrical heart with deep red veins engulfed in a deep red fire flew out of the city limits; and into a volcano somewhere outside of Townsville...
