Chapter 2: Sky-High Reunions at Mt. Moon!
After leaving Pallet for the first Battle Frontier, Ash and his friends settle just on the outskirts of the Viridian Forest near Pewter City and Mt. Moon.
"So Brock what Pokemon of yours did you bring?" Ash asks.
"I left Ludicolo with my siblings, but along with Mudkip and Forretress I decided to bring my old buddy Geodude, he was itching to get back out." Brock smiles.
"Geodude, oh if only Onix came back too." Misty smiled.
"Yeah it would just be like old times." Brock smiles.
"Yeah, old times." Ash said looking at the Viridian Forest.
May sees the look on his face. "Ash?"
"Huh?" Ash said looking to her.
"Are you alright? You've been looking at the forest since we sat down here." May said
"Oh uh y-yeah. I'm fine May, don't worry." Ash said putting up a smile to show it.
"Were you hoping to catch a Pokemon in that forest or something?" Max asks.
"Something like that." Ash mumbles and Misty and Brock instantly knew what he meant.
"You don't think?" Misty whispered, making Brock nod.
"He has to be." Brock said.
"Has to be what?" Max asked.
"Ash? Do you mind?" Misty asked.
"Sure. I don't mind." Ash said.
"Ash released two of the first Pokemon he ever caught in this very forest." Misty points.
May and Max remembered Ash did indeed say something like that yesterday. "Really what were they?"
"A Caterpie along with a Pidgeotto." Brock answers thinking back. "Which are now a Pidgeot and Butterfree."
"Wait what? Both of those are two fully evolved Pokemon!" Max gasps.
"Yeah, thanks for pointing out the obvious Max." May said sarcastically. "So why did Ash release them?" She asked, curious to know.
Ash sighs sadly, so Brock took over. "Well, Butterfree was the first of the group to leave. We ran into a group of Butterfree in the sky. See it was the Butterfree Migration Season."
"And Ash's Butterfree fell in love with rare Pink one and she eventually fell for him, but in order for the two of them to go off and have their babies Ash had to let Butterfree go." Misty explained.
"Aw that's so sweet and sad at the same time," May said holding her heart.
"And then there's Pidgeot. When we were on our way to the Orange Islands, a Fearow and his flock of Spearow had scared all the Pidgey and Pidgeotto into hiding while they took over this forest. Thanks to Pidgeotto evolving they were able to take back the forest, but in order to make sure they didn't try this again Ash left Pidgeot here to help keep the forest safe until the other flying types could take care of themselves." Brock explains.
"Wow, Ash those were some heavy sacrifices." May said.
"And it never gets easier. I was really hoping on the way through this forest I would see Pidgeot at least once. What if she forgot about me? It's been so long." Ash frowns.
"Pika." Pikachu shakes his head.
"Come on Ash, you honestly think Pidgeot would forget you?" Misty said.
"It's been over a year." Ash said.
"Ash, there is no way Pidgeot could ever forget someone like you." Brock said.
"Even so, I just wish there was some way I could see where she is.." Ash said.
"Maybe you will." May said patting him on the shoulder.
"I hope so." Ash said when Pikachu's ears perked up.
"Pi?" Pikachu said looking up and they heard multiple flapping of wings.
"What the?" Looking up they saw tons of Pidgey, Spearow and even Pidgeotto flying towards Mt. Moon.
"Hey what's with all those birds flying up there?" Max wonders.
"They seem to be heading towards Mt. Moon." Misty said when the birds part slightly and Ash's eyes widen seeing a Pidgeot flying above them.
"Pidgeot Geot!" Pidgeot said leading them all.
"P-Pidgeot?" Ash gasped.
"No way, Ash...is that yours?" Max asks blown away.
"I-it can't be." He slowly stood up before heading his way to where the birds landed.
"Pikapi!" Pikachu said running after him.
"Ash wait up!" May said as they all gathered up their things and followed him.
While running, Ash was thinking. 'Is it really my old Pidgeot? It just has to be!'
On a cliff area just beneath Mt. Moon under a river all the flying types were sitting in the trees when Ash arrived.
And Ash scopes his eyes over to the Pidgeot.
"Oh please, please be here." Ash said looking around and when he did memories came back to him.
Catching Pidgeotto for the first time, all the gym battles they fought together, Pidgeotto evolving and finally saying goodbye.
Hearing a flutter of wings, Ash sees the leading Pidgeot land on the top of the rocks. "PidgeotPidgeot." Looking at it, It was the largest of all the bird types here.
Eyes widening, as he slowly walked towards it, he needed to do one thing to make sure.
"P-Pidgeot?" Ash calls out getting its attention.
Lifting its head up, the Pidgeot looks in his direction and when Ash looked into its eyes he could see it...it was his Pidgeot.
"It's me, Ash. Don't you remember me?" Ash asked hopefully.
"Geo." Pidgeot slowly flies down and looks at him, pausing for a few seconds before smiling. "Pidgeot." Pidgeot said wrapping Ash up in her wings.
"Pidgeot it is you!" Ash smiles widely as everyone arrived.
"What did we..miss?" Max asked seeing Ash embrace the giant bird.
"Guys, this IS my old Pidgeot!" Ash announced, shocking everyone.
"Pikachu?" Pikachu said walking over.
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot smiles causing Pikachu to smile and run over and join them.
"I don't believe it." Max said blown away.
"Pidgeot do you remember me too?" Misty asked hurrying over.
"And come on, you can't forget a face like old Brocko?" Brock said.
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot smiles remembering all of them.
"Wow Ash's Pidgeot is so..big." May said taking her new PokéDex out and scanned her.
"PIDGEOT, THE BIRD POKÉMON. THE EVOLVED FORM OF PIDGEOTTO. THIS POKÉMON IS CAPABLE OF FLYING FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF SOUND. ITS PLUMAGE IS OFTEN DESCRIBED AS BEAUTFUL, MAKING IT A POPULAR CHOICE FOR SKILLED TRAINERS."
"Skilled trainers, huh? That sounds about right." May smiles.
"Hey Pidgeot, I'd like you to meet May and Max, they're friends." Ash introduced.
"Uh hi Pidgeot, Ash told us alot about you." May greets her.
"Nice to meet you." Max said nervously.
"Don't worry she doesn't bite." Ash said.
May was slow to touch her, Pidgeot moved in and allowed May to pet her.
"She's so friendly." May smiles.
"So Pidgeot it looks like you've been busy. All these flying types really look up to you." Ash gestures.
"Pidgeo." She nodded. All of the Pokémon were her followers.
"Hey, what ever happened to Fearow?" Misty asked.
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot gestures and they look to see a Fearow leading the rest of the Flying types.
"No way." Brock said in shock.
"You got Fearow to work for you now?" Misty gasps.
She nodded, with a smug smirk on her face. Pidgeot kept him in line.
"Oh man Pidgeot you are the best." Ash laughs when they suddenly heard a ringing.
"Oh that's me." Misty said answering it. "Hey Daisy what's up?"
"Misty we got a big problem here and I don't know what to do!" Daisy said on the line. "We're totally cluttered with Pokémon Trainers wanting gym battles. The lobby is filled with them. I was wondering if we could give them gym badges and tell them come back later?"
"No! Not this again! I thought we talked about this!" Misty exclaimed before sighing. "Look, I'm on the other side of Mt. Moon. I'll be there before sundown, but until then, they'll just to wait." She said hanging up. "Man I thought last time would've taught them something. Guess not."
"They still rather just give badges away?" Ash asks.
"My sisters never learn. I gotta to get to Cerulean City and fast." Misty said.
"Yeah, we should probably get back on the road." Brock said.
"Hey Ash I bet your Pidgeot could get us there in no time." Max said.
"Yeah except no way she could carry all of us." May said.
"Maybe not." Ash said before looking to his former flying type. "Well Pidgeot, it's been great seeing you again, but we got to get going. I'm taking on the Battle Frontier."
"Geot?" Pidgeot said interested.
"Basically we'll be taking on the strongest trainers in all of Kanto. Wish me luck." Ash said when from the bushes a small Pokémon was looking at them.
Some of the bird Pokémon nearby felt its presence from where they are
"Spear!" A Spearow called out getting their attention.
"Pidgeo?" Pidgeot asked coming over. They point to the bushes, which were rustling.
Bracing themselves for it they suddenly look to see a small pink Pokémon that resembled Clefairy emerged.
"It's a Cleffa!" Max gasped.
"Aw it's so cute." May said taking out her Pokédex.
"CLEFFA, THE STAR SHAPED POKÉMON. CLEFFA ARE SAID TO FORM CIRCLES AND DANCE AS IF THEY ARE FLYING ON NIGHTS WHEN THERE ARE MANY FALLING STARS."
"It must be from Mt. Moon. The mountain is full of Clefairy." Brock recalls.
"But then what's it doing all the way down here?" Ash asks.
Pidgeot talked to Cleffa, wondering if it was lost. "Cleffa Clef." Cleffa explains.
"Pidgeot." She nodded, asking something else. "Pidgeot?"
"Cleffa." Cleffa said about to confess when suddenly a powerful wind flew in and started to suck up Cleffa and most of the small Flying types.
"Cleffa!" May gasped.
"Pidgeot?!" Pidgeot exclaimed, they then heard laughter from above and saw Team Rocket, using a vacuum powered up version of their balloon.
"Didn't someone ever told you to not leave your toys out in the open?!" Jessie mocked.
"Team Rocket again?!" Brock gasps.
"I wish I brought Swellow with me." Ash growls when Pidgeot and Fearow took flight.
"Pidgeot!" Pidgeot orders as both fly in towards them.
"Uh oh Angry Birds coming our way!" James panics.
Fearow swooped up all of the flying types that were about to enter the vaccum, including Cleffa.
"Pidgeot!" Surrounding herself with flames Pidgeot flew in like a rocket and pierced a giant hole through the machine.
"Whoa, what move was that?" Ash asks amazed.
"That was Brave Bird." Max gasps.
"What happened? I blinked and we lost everything." James said as they looked around.
"Hold on, we're still here. That attack was a dud." Meowth chuckles when suddenly an explosion went off.
Everyone gasped, weren't expecting such destructive power from that attack. But the aftershock knocks Misty, Max, Pikachu, Azurill and Cleffa off a cliff.
"Misty!" Brock gasps.
"Pikachu!" Ash gasps.
"No Max!" May gasps.
She tries to reach for her brother but she was too late and they fell into the river below. They all just stood there, horrified that their friends were lost in the unknown sea.
Meanwhile down the river, on a rocky shore Misty, Max and the Pokemon climb out of the river
"You're not hurt, are you Max?" Misty asks.
"I'm okay." Max nods when he saw Pikachu's knee was bruised from the fall.
"Oh man Pikachu took a nasty fall." Max said worried. "And we don't have any kind of medicine to help it."
"Don't worry, we don't need it." Misty reassured, confusing him. "Azurill, use Refresh." She tells her baby Pokémon.
"Azurill." Hoping over towards Pikachu, Azurill glows blue for a few seconds healing Pikachu.
"How do you feel now Pikachu?" Misty wondered.
"Pika!" He replied with a smile, healthier then ever.
"Wow Misty that was pretty impressive." Max said.
"Hey when you're a gym leader you need to know moves that can keep your Pokemon going." Misty said.
"Cleffa." Cleffa said.
"Yeah, we are pretty far from eveyone." Max said.
"Don't worry Max, if we head towards Mt. Moon we're sure to find them." Misty said.
Meanwhile, Ash, May, and Brock are searching for the others with the help of Mudkip's radar, but the search fails.
"Mudkip's radar isn't picking up anything." Brock sighs.
"There's no telling how far the river could have taken them." May said.
"And with all these clouds, we can't exactly search from the sky." Ash said looking up.
Pidgeot looked down sadly. Mainly because she caused the separation to happen. "Hey Pidgeot it's not your fault." Ash said trying to cheer her up. "Team Rocket were to blame, not you."
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot said looking to him.
"Hey you and I both know we've dealt with much worse and we've pulled through. Remember when I was kidnapped by Team Rocket and you flew me all the way back to the League in time for my match." Ash recalls.
"Oh yeah, I remember that." Brock said. "She carried Team Rocket's entire balloon to the stadium. For a Pidgeotto back then, THAT'S some dedication."
"Geot." Pidgeot brushes it off.
"I gotta admit Pidgeot, I was pretty impressed how you took out Team Rocket. You've really gotten stronger since I last saw you." Ash said. She blushed from the praise.
"Clefairy. Clefairy." Emerging from the bushes they see Clefairy and Clefable calling out for something.
"Clefairy and Clefable?" Ash said.
"Are they looking for something?" May wonders, but once the two pixie Pokémon, they split. Brock's "eyes" lit up, with realization.
"I got it! Those two are Cleffa's family and they're looking for it!" He informs them.
With Misty and Max, both were walking along the path.
"Wow Misty, my sister could learn a thing or two from you." Max said.
"Don't be too hard on her Max, don't forgot she made into the Final 8 of the Hoenn Grand Festival." Misty reminded.
"Yeah but that's a long way away from First Place. Frankly she did as bad as Ash." Max said.
"Uh huh." Misty said seeing why those two always shut him up.
"But did you see how Pidgeot took out Team Rocket so easily?" Max asked. "Man! Ash got rid of such a great Pokémon to have."
"Oh trust me, when Pidgeot evolved Ash wanted to keep her on his team more than anything." Misty said.
"But all of those flying types needed her the most." Max guessed.
"He did that with so many others and let me tell you he had some really good ones. There was Primeape, Lapras, Haunter, Larvitar." Misty lists.
"Wow, those are all good Pokémon." Max said shocked.
"I know." Misty sighed at the memories. "Though when they first met Ash, it wasn't a right of the bat friendship."
"Really? But Ash is so good with Pokemon." Max asks confused.
"Yeah, now. When I first met him, Ash was having so much trouble. Every time Charizard came out he would rather sleep than listen to Ash." Misty cringed at the embarrassment.
"The same Charizard that he uses now?" Max said not believing it.
"Ever since it turned into Charmeleon, it's been a pain in the neck for him and all of us." Misty said. "It only gotten worse once he evolved."
"Wow, and I thought May had a bad start. Ash really had to work hard to get where he is." Max said.
"If Ash could pull himself together after all that May can do the same." Misty assures.
Learning this knowledge, Max starts to wonder how his sister would really be in this new journey.
"Cleffa! Cleffa!" Cleffa started getting their attention, seeing something and ran off ahead of them.
"What's with Cleffa all of a sudden?" Misty asks surprised.
"Hey I bet it wants us to follow it because it knows a shortcut." Max said.
However, Max's theory was wrong. Cleffa, just found some Pecha Berries to snack on. "Or it was just hungry." Max groans.
"Well it works out for us as well, it's not Brocks' cooking but it's food." Misty said.
She picks a bunch for everyone. "Well let's eat." Misty said when suddenly multiple Beedrill flew out of the trees causing her to scream. "BUGS! RUN!" Misty panics running away.
"Wait!" Max said carrying everything (Pokémon included). "Where are running?!"
"Anywhere away from those creepy things!" Misty cried.
"When Ash said you had a bug phobia I didn't know it was this bad!" Max said.
However, while they were distracted they ended up running off a cliff and falling down into the forest below.
Luckily, they are saved from serious injury when they land on a large patch of thick, soft moss.
"Misty you ever consider seeing a therapist?" Max groans.
"Not the time Max. Not the time." Misty groans.
"Pika.." Pikachu sighed exhausted, until he felt a raindrop fall on his head.
"Oh no, don't tell me.." Max whined.
Almost immediately rain started pouring down on them forcing them to run for cover.
"Hey look, I see a cave over there!" Misty points, finding a cave near a stone well.
Running as fast as they could they entered the cave and sat down.
"Just our luck Misty. What do we do now?" Max asks.
"All we can do right now is wait for the rain to stop." Misty said.
The boy sighed and sat on a rock. "I hope May and the others have better luck than we do."
Meanwhile with the others Pidgeot was using her wings to help keep them dry before they ultimately decided to stop and wait for the rain to clear.
May was feeling like the worst. Not having to have saved Max from falling into the river.
"Guys what if we never find Max?" May asks worried.
"Hey don't talk like that we'll find them." Brock said
"Yeah she's with Misty. We know her, she won't let anything happen to him." Ash reassured her.
"I hope so." May frowns.
Slowly Ash scoots closer and puts his hand on her shoulder.
"We'll find them I promise." Ash assures
The calm look in his eyes was telling May, that he was serious.
"Thanks Ash I needed that." May said calming down.
"Don't mention it." Ash smiles.
"Pidgeot, see that?" Brock whispered. "When you were gone, Ash sure has grown up alot."
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot said looking at him.
She remembered always having to help now Ash was helping others. He was still her original trainer but now he was so much different than before.
It made her wonder what else he had in store.
As the rain slowly stopped Ash looked to see the clouds start to part.
"You know I bet we could get a decent view from the air now." Brock hints.
"I'll check it out." Ash said looking Pidgeot. "You mind giving me a lift?"
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot nods as Ash climbs onto her back.
"Just like old times." Ash smiles as they took off into the air.
"Wow.." May was blown away at how fast she was.
"They'll find them no problem." Brock said as they got up and tried to follow.
Back with Misty and Max..
While the rain was pouring on their side, they had a conversation about older sisters. Misty proposes that they both keep helping their sisters, even when they don't think they need it, and Max heartily agrees.
Soon they were walking down the path with Pikachu and Cleffa walking up front.
"Cleffa and Pikachu really seem to be getting along." Misty smiles.
"Yeah and Cleffa seems to be a lot happier." Max agrees.
Then like last time a huge wind of air appeared and picked up Pikachu and Cleffa from the ground.
"Not again!" Running as fast as they could Misty and Max grab them before the wind carried them off but the wind ended up sucking in Max.
"No Max!" Misty gasps when suddenly a hand grabs him.
"I got you!" May said.
"May!" Max said, happy to see his sister.
"I'm not letting you go that easy a second time." May smiles.
"How'd you find us so fast?" Misty asks when Misty points up to see Ash riding Pidgeot.
"Found in no time thanks to Pidgeot." Ash smiles.
"Pikapi!" Pikachu smiles.
"Everyone alright?" Brock asked coming in the mix.
"We're good." Misty said as Cleffa sees Clefairy and Clefable.
"Cleffa!" She hops out of Misty's arms to the two, who are happy to see each other.
"Alright Team Rocket, we know you're here, so don't try to hide!" May yelled to the woods.
(Cue Team Rocket Motto)
"Oh shut up we already heard that dumb motto once we don't need this again." Max calls out.
"Seriously the only thing worse than you is your dumb mottos." Misty said.
"Pidgeo.." Pidgeot shakes her head. She remembered them and their idiocy.
"We added extra power to our vacuum so not even your dumb bird can pierce through this one." Meowth said as the vacuum started up.
Misty quickly orders Azurill to use Bubble, which is sucked into the machine instead of the Pokémon and thus causing it to explode, sending the trio plummeting to the ground.
"We prepared for a big Pidgoet but instead we got brought down by a little Azurill. This is low even for us." James groans.
"Guess ol' Team Rocket still comes back every now and then." Meowth groans.
"More like Old Team Rocket never left." Ash mocks.
"Oh that's it! I didn't come here to be insulted!" Jessie snaps.
"Oh then where do you usually go?" Brock asks.
"Off crying to their boss about another failed task, probably." Misty said with a smug and mocking grin on their face, joining in on the fun.
"I was SOO glad that you were gone, and seeing and hearing your annoying twerpish voice is giving me a new headache." Jessie snarled.
"Oh, it must be because of that large eel for a hairpiece coming out of your scalp." Misty mocked once again. This time, she went for the hair.
"You insult my HAIR?!" Jessie snaps with fire in her eyes.
"Uh oh Jessie exploded!" Meowth panics.
"Go Seviper!" Jessie said calling out her snake Pokémon.
"Cacnea! You too!" James was one again hugged by his grass type. "No not me! Them! Them!"
"Let's go Pidgeot." Ash said when Cleffa, Clefairy and Clefable stepped forward and let out a loud cry that echoed towards the mountain.
Almost instantly tons of backup showed up.
"What's going on?" Jessie said suddenly calmed down. The 3 groups of Pokémon waved their hands back and forth.
"Uh oh." Ash, Misty and Brock gulp seeing this before.
"Hey isn't that..." May starts.
"Metronome!" Max said when May's Munchlax came out of his Pokeball and joined them in the attack.
"Munchlax? What are you doing?" May said confused.
"Metronome brought him out of his ball." Max said as all of them glowed causing Cleffa to use Splash, Clefable to do Hula Dance to distract Team Rocket while Clefairy and Munchlax charged up Solarbeam.
"Gah! They're distracting us to use Solar Beam!" Meowth panicked.
"Seviper, Poison Tail!" Jessie exclaimed in her dance.
"Cacnea, Needle Arm!" James tried to say in his.
"Pidgeot, Pikachu!" Ash said as Pikachu charged in with Iron Tail and Pidgeot used Steel Wing knocking both Pokemon into Team Rocket.
Having been given the time to charge, Munchlax and the Clefairy fire their Solar Beams, sending Team Rocket blasting off.
"Wow Munchlax I didn't know you could learn Metronome." May smiles.
"Munch." Munchlax smiles.
"Steel Wing too? Pidgeot you continue to impress me." Ash smiles.
Pidgeot looks to Ash and Pikachu, both had gotten so much stronger since they said goodbye.
Pausing Pidgeot flaps her wings and flies a small distance away from them before landing across from Ash and Pikachu.
"Uh what are you doing?" Ash asked.
"Pidgeot!" Pidgeot said taking a battle stance.
"I think Pidgeot wants to battle with you and Pikachu." Brock said surprising them.
"But why?" Max asks.
"Pidgeot has seen firsthand how much stronger they've gotten and I think Pidgeot wants to see firsthand if they can hold their own against her now." Brock said.
"Woah battling her old trainer?" May said.
Looking at Pidgeot, Ash couldn't help but grin.
"Alright Pidgeot, you want to see how strong we've gotten? Let's go Pikachu!" Ash said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said running out ready to battle.
Flapping her wings Pidgeot took flight.
"Pikachu Thunderbolt!" Ash said as Pikachu fired a bolt of electricity when suddenly a green barrier appears around Pidgeot blocking it.
She also knew Protect, her 3rd move. "Pidgeot!" Pidgeot made a divebomb using Steel Wing.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Dashing out of the way Pikachu narrowly avoids being sliced by Steel Wing.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail!" Leaping off a tree, Pikachu jumps up and whacks Pidgeot. Pidgeot winced, but shakes it off. "Now Thunder!" Pikachu releases a powerful blast of electricity into the air.
Seeing the attack coming, an orb of sparkling energy appears in front of Pidgeot's beak. The orb then forms into a mirror, which surprised Ash as the mirror reflected, and sends it right back at Pikachu. "Pikachu, look out!"
"Pika!" Pikachu however couldn't get away in time and was struck by his own attack.
"What move was that?" May gasps.
"Mirror Move. It allows you to copy the last move your opponent used against them." Max gasps.
"Brave Bird, Steel Wing, Protect and Mirror Move." Ash said blown away.
Pikachu gets back onto his feet, and sees his old ally above him. "Pika." He said impressed with her battle style.
"Pidgeot!" Pidgeot said flying in with Steel Wing.
"Block it with Iron Tail!" Swinging Iron Tail both Pokemon clashed but Pidgeot overpowered Pikachu.
"Pikachu hang in there." Ash said when they heard wings flapping.
Turning around they saw all the trees were filled with all the flying types Pidgeot watched over watching the battle.
"Looks like they came to watch the show." Misty said.
"I don't blame them, this battle is exciting." Brock said.
"Pikachu Thunderbolt!" Ash said as Pikachu fired Thunderbolt zapping Pidgeot making her scream in pain.
The birds all around started squawking.
Shaking off Pidgeot is slow to get up.
"Now Pikachu Quick Attack!" As Pikachu dashes in Pidgeot used Protect deflecting the attack allowing her to whack him with Steel Wing from close range.
Pikachu fumbles backwards in pain. She was quick and strong at the same time. "Come on Pikachu, you gotta get up!"
Pikachu growled, struggling to stand back up.
'She really has gotten so much stronger without me. Meanwhile I'm here already getting my butt kicked.' Ash thought.
"Pidgeot!" Surrounding herself with flames Pidgeot flew in with Brave Bird.
"Pikachu Quick Attack!" Ash said as Pikachu charged in.
"No way Quick Attack can stop Brave Bird." Max gulps.
"Now dive!" Sliding under Pidgeot like a baseball player Pikachu leaps up behind her dodging the attack.
Pidgeot gasped, trying to do a U-Turn. "Quick! Hit her wirh Thunder Pikachu!" Ash said.
"Pika-CHUU!" Pikachu released electricity right onto Pidgeot while she was flying.
"Geo!" Pidgeot screams feeling the super effective damage and the after effects of Brave Bird crashing to the ground.
All the birds in the area tried squaking out to her again to try and get up.
Struggling, Pidgeot gets up and as she glares Ash and Pikachu down, a smile appears on her face before falling back down.
"They won!" May and Max cheered.
"That was incredible." Brock said.
"Just like their first battle." Misty smiles.
"Brock do you have a Super Potion on you?" Ash asks.
Nodding, he gave one to Ash, who walks over and sprays Pidgeot.
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot smiles.
"That was incredible, you almost beat us." Ash smiles petting Pidgeot.
Pikachu gets ontop her back. "Pikachu." He said petting her head.
"It was amazing to battle you again Pidgeot. If I brought you with me to take on the Battle Frontier my chances would be so much better." Ash said.
"But Ash, Pidgeot has to stay right?" May reminds.
"Who's gonna look after all the flying types?" Max asks.
"Oh right." Ash frowns.
Looking to them Fearow pauses. "Fear. Fearow." Fearow said looking to Pidgeot.
"Pidge?"
"Fearow. Fear." He explains, surprising her.
Smiling, Pidgeot nods her head before turning to the other Flying types.
"Pidgeot!"
"Fear!"
As Fearow took the sky, everyone looked to see all the other Flying types follow him.
And Pidgeot stood there with a smile before looking to the trainers. Everyone was confused until she walked to Ash. "Pidgeot."
"P-Pidgeot?" Ash asked confused. "What did you..did Fearow say he'll lead the flying types?" He asked with disbelief.
"Pidgeot." Pidgeot nods.
"So...that means you want to travel with me again?" Ash asks hopefully.
"Geot." Pidgeot smiles.
Hearing this, put a big smile onto Ash's face while some tears came out of his eyes. "H-how can I say no?!" He said hugging Pidgeot with rejoice. Pidgeot hugged back, feeling just as happy as he was.
All of his friends were touched at both trainer and Pokémon joining forces once more.
That night, all of them were at Mt. Moon watching the Clefairy, Cleffa and Clefable leaping around the giant Moonstone.
"To think its still here to this day." Ash said.
"You know Team Rocket actually tried to steal that thing." Misty points.
"You're kidding." Max said.
"Not even a little." Ash said.
"How could they steal something so large?" May asked.
"Oh they have their ways." Brock said. Then some of the Clefable came up with them with Cleffa holding something.
"CleffaCelffa!"
Looking down they saw they were each holding up Moonstones for them as thanks for all their help.
"Whoa, Moon Stones." Ash gasped
"You want us to have them?" May asked as the Clefable nodded happily.
"Thank you so much." They said gratefully, taking them.
"I may have not gotten a Moon Stone last time, but I wonder what I can use mines on." Ash wonders.
"You know May if you still had Skitty on you, you could evolve her into Delcatty," Brock said.
"Well Skitty isn't the only Pokémon that evolves with this. Maybe I can catch a new one." May said hopeful.
They all enjoyed the moon dance while they can before it was time to say goodbye.
The next morning, they were leaving Mt. Moon and Ash had a big smile on his face holding Pidgeot's Pokeball. "Welcome back old friend.."
When they reached the path Misty suddenly got a phone call. "Probably my sister again." She mumbles taking her Pokegear out again.
"Misty you better hurry, some trainers are about to leave and fed up with waiting." Daisy tells her.
"Don't worry, I'm on the other side of the mountain now. I'll be back in 10 minutes." Misty said hanging up.
"Gym duties?" Ash asks.
"If I don't hurry I know they'll start giving them away. It was nice traveling with you guys but I gotta run." Misty said.
"It was great seeing you again Misty," May said.
"Same. I wish you and Ash luck in the Battle Frontier and the Grand Festival." Misty said smiling.
As Misty ran ahead to her home path, everyone waved goodbye to her.
"Shame it ended so fast. I kinda liked traveling with her again." Brock said.
"Easy for you to say. The second we saw Beedrill it was a nightmare." Max said causing Ash and Brock.
"Try dealing with that for two years." Ash said as they headed down the path.
"Ash and I once considered buying noise canceling headphones." Brock laughs.
"Lucky you.." Max mumbles.
After an exciting reunion with Pidgeot and a quick farewell to Misty, Ash and his friends arrive in Cerulean City and Ash's first frontier battle.
