A new day

Chapter 2

Skylah P.O.V

It was a new day. The sun was shining. It was a perfect temperature outside. The boys in my new school are cute and charming, and my brother is bent on murder.

Never mind, It isn't such a good day after all. I would love to tell you why, but Jaden won't let me tell anyone until everyone knows what our quirks are. If it were completely up to Jaden, we would never go anywhere near this class.

Yesterday was the day Jaden had blown up at...Izuku! That's his name, I think I'll call him Deku though, he doesn't seem to mind it.

A small note about Jaden. He wasn't always like this, he was happier and upbeat. At least as much as an awkward and somewhat emo teenager could be.

Whenever we go back there Jaden sort of comes back, but only a little because it reminds him of...

Enough of that.

I think Jaden felt bad about blowing up a Deku and apologized when we got back. He went up to his room with the bull shit excuse that he needed to unpack.

"Hey, if you don't mind us asking, what is up with your brother?" The pink girl asked me. Mina, that's her name.

"Well, erm. How do I put this? Jaden, He...well he is still recovering from something." I responded trying my best to not sound nervous, I did pitifully.

"Oh, if you don't want to talk about that's fine," Mina said.

"Oh no! It's not that, it's just. I'm fine with talking about it...kind of...but I'm still getting over it! Jaden doesn't like to talk about it either..." I explained quickly.

Suddenly everyone jumped, I did too because a hand was put on my shoulder.

"Hey, what did I miss? I heard my name as I was coming to say good night." Jaden said, efficiently making almost everyone jump. The only exceptions were the two mutants(A.N. I mean Tsu and Shoji. I had forgotten that Jiro's quirk is a mutant type as well) of the class and the bird guy.

"Nothing!" The floating clothes AKA Toru said as quickly as possible.

"Whatever you say, I also came down to offer you guys something," Jaden said with no emotion present in his voice.

"What would that be?" Deku asked quietly.

Jaden looked at him. "Hey, you."

"Y-yes" Deku stuttered. He seemed scared, and I don't blame him. Jaden tends to scare the living daylights out of me.

"Keep your head up, look me in the eyes when we talk."

Deku didn't know how to respond. He looked to be second-guessing himself.

"And quit that. Be confident in your decisions. I have seen the scoring of the class. You are one of the top students. Show everyone you deserve the title of being one of the best of the best. You second-guessing yourself could be seen as a weakness, I know of your acts of bravery on the field. Take that and apply it here. The real world is cold, you've probably heard that before because it's true."

I was surprised, that little speech reminded me of part of Jaden he has only shown to two little kids. Ah, Little Jordan and another. Now he is showing it to this guy.

"Now before I forget and regret this," Jaden continued looked back at the class as a whole. "I decided that if you want to know what our quirks are and a few other things, I would be willing to fight one of you first."

"Wait, Jaden are you sure?" I asked him. We had a vague idea of their abilities but only the ones that had fought in public.

"Your right Skylah, I'll fight two of you. You win, you can interrogate me as much as you want. If I win, I unload my life story to you at my own pace." Jaden said with a grin growing on his face. It was very confident. I was seeing a part of Jaden that hadn't shined in a long time.

Jaden P.O.V

I can't explain it, I just had the feeling that this was the right thing to do. I still want to... nothing. I just have some intentions that I want to pursue, I have some pent-up steam to release.

I heard someone slam down the stairs.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? I HEARD FIGHT AND CAME AS SOON AS I COULD. HELL YEAH, I WOULD LOVE TO FIGHT YOUR DUMBASS" The yelling guy is back. Of course, he heard me say fight. Even though he was at least one floor above us.

"Do you have your license?" I asked him

"He doesn't. Nor Todoroki. They both were the only ones that didn't get one. Have you and your sister acquired yours?" The rich girl asked, I think her name was Momo.

"Yes, we did. We had to take the exam before we were allowed to come here." I explained.

I tried to bomb the exam, It didn't work, I messed up with the wrong people.

The blonde guy stormed up to his room realized he wasn't going to fight me.

"Oh, I get it. You're trying to open up! See Jaden, your not heartless like those people said, I'll join as well!" Skylah busted out.

"So," I said, getting excited. "who are the two that are going to lose to me?"

The class huddled up and occasionally Mina stuck her head out of the top of the huddle to narrow her eyes at me suspiciously, then wave at Skylah. Of course.

~Ten Minutes later~

"Alrighty!" Toru announced.

"First up against Jaden is, Drum roll please," Mina said after seeming busting out of the floor.

No one gave her a drum roll. Skylah then pulls out a small set of bongos and starts drumming. No one questions it but me, did no one notice she pulled them out of thin air?

"Izuku AKA Deku and Kyoka AKA Earphone Jack" Mina almost shouted. Maybe from excitement, good. They got a long-range fight and a close-range fighter.

"We haven't picked who to fight Skylah yet so we need a few more minutes," Toru said.

"Please no," I said, "I'll pick for you." I looked at everyone, "I pick Kirishima and Mina"

"That was fast!" Everyone seemed to be thinking.

"I picked a good choice for Skylah, she's going to give you a run for your money," I said laughing.

~Next day~

It didn't take much for us to convince Mr. Awaiza to let us do it.

"Who wants to go first?" Sero asked.

"Ladies first," I said.

"Alright!" Skylah said, everyone was in their hero outfit but for Skylah and me.

Once they were in the arena. Before they started, I said out loud. "Izuku, get out your notebook, if you want to write about our quirks then do it now."

Izuku went for his back pocket instantly in his dark green suit.

"Skylah has a similar ability to Tsu over there but with crabs. No specific crab, like Tsu with frogs, Skylah can turn her hands and arms into pinchers and make more come out of her arm region. She can also cover her skin with a shell similar to a coconut crab, her strength is also the same. Like a coconut crab, her quirk explains her appearance a little bit, her body build. Small and short and the patches of skin red/pink/white she has around her body, the only ones you would be able to see without me killing you because that is my sister. Is currently the one on her neck and her arm. I don't know the location of anymore, but I know she has more scattered around on her body." I explained her quirk as Skylah activated her shell.

It looked like a mask on her face (A.N. A lighter color to the one Tamaki can manifest). The rest of her visible skin turned to the same texture and a mix of pink, red and white. Her hands extended into large and sharp pinchers.

Mina tried blasting Skylah with acid but that turned out highly ineffective. Skylah then rushed towards her as Kirishma was standing there surprised.

"He must be realizing why I picked him specifically," I said with a hint of amusement in my voice.

All of the others just busted out laughing. Think about it, I put the two hardest students against each other. This will hopefully be as good of a fight as when Kirishma fought Tetsutetsu in the sports festival.

They were just grappling and throwing punches at each other until Skylah sprouted another claw and grabbed Kirishma by the waist and threw him out of bounds next to Mina.

"That was quicker than I thought it would be, I guess it's my turn." I could feel an almost evil grin settle on my face, they could see my teeth for the first time. Small and sharp.

Skylah P.O.V

That was too long of a fight. Jaden, that jerk knew how this fight would be. I would knock Mina out then Kirishma and I would be at a standstill until I started using my brain.

They were put in the machine area for their fight.

Izuku and Jiro split up and Jaden was right in the middle. They must have been planning to fake him out with two large-scale attacks and when he tries to dodge it, they would try to catch him off guard.

Jiro instantly plugged her jacks into her boot setting of the speakers in the boots and Izuku flicked his finger after it glowed with energy (A.N. I know Izuku started using his shoot-style around now but come on its a finger.)

The two forces collide in the center and the duo was dumbfounded that Jaden didn't make a move to dodge.

Third Person P.O.V

Izuku and Jiro were both looking around trying to locate Jaden because when the smoke cleared Jaden was nowhere to be seen.

"That's cute that you think I would be so predictable!" Jaden shouted from...above? Jaden was sitting on one of the pipes that were right above the place he just was.

"Jaden has a similar quirk to me," Skylah called out to them.

"I might not have any armor but I'm stronger than Skylah by a large margin," Jaden called down.

"Your quirk, What is it?" Jiro asked, she was confused about how he got up there so quickly.

"I'm sure Izuku has it about figured out by now, tell them Izuku"

"Your quirk, it has something to do with an octopus or squid right?"

"Your right, I can take on certain attributes of a squid or octopus. Like Skylah can with crabs." As Jaden was talking he lifted his right hand and all of his fingers slowly shifted into tentacles.

"I can do that, my whole arm if I wish, or," Two tentacles sprouted from his back and waved "This. I can cause them to come out of almost any part of my body." Jaden jumped down and one tentacle grabbed onto the pipe and slowly stretched until he reached the ground, then it shrank until it was gone.

Izuku yelled, "Full Cowling 8 percent!" and zoomed at Jaden.

Jaden dodged Izuku making it look effortless and shot out a tentacle at him grabbed him by the waist, and threw him at Jiro who was about to launch another attack with her boots speakers.

They weren't knocked out of bounds yet so the fight was still on.

"Oh good a challenge," Jaden said. Nobody noticed but the look on Jadens face was one of pure determination mixed with all the intensity that Tamaki had given them when he was trying to introduce himself. Jaden turned both of his arms into tentacles but these were ones of a squid, pointed like an arrow at the end.

Jaden launched them at the due and wrapped them up with the tentacles and threw them into the wall marking the boundary of the direction. He then picked them up with some tentacles after they were rendered unconscious and took them to Recovery Girl.

~Back at the dorms. Jaden P.O.V~

"Alright, a deal is a deal. We will leave you alone." Mina said sadly.

"You guys got the good part of the deal. Skylah go ahead and tell them," I said because I knew Skylah wanted to tell them everything. I sat down on the couch and let memories take me, I was only partly listening to what they were saying.

"So Jaden's quirk allows him to take on attributes of an octopus and a squid. Such as turning his arms into tentacles and making more come out of his body as you have already seen. The rest of Jaden's abilities will be shown later on because he hasn't told me all he is capable of. His quirk explains his appearance a little bit. Such as his hair being curls at the ends, like tentacles, his eyes being more round and tilted, and his small nose. I know crazy right? You can hardly tell he has one. He also has a lot of sharp teeth." Skylah explained and I could tell that everyone was starting to make sense of me.

Skylah turned solemn. "The reason Jaden was so angry was our parents were murdered. Before that Jaden and I were much less...whatever we are. The reason we are so different is that we deal with pain differently. Before our parents died we used to all go to this orphanage together to pass our free time. That's where Jaden and I were yesterday before we came to the dorms. Jaden knows more about their murder and won't tell me anything about what he knows. The villains we took down were working for the person that murdered our parents, that's why we took them down."

I could hardly hear her now, I was a victim to my mind. Trapped once again, I could feel the memories tying me down. Weighing my down like I was being restrained with weights that were far too heavy for a human to carry. Dread started to settle in my chest.

Flashback 1 year ago

Blood. It was everywhere, they couldn't be gone. They...said they would be right back. It was a normal day at the mall. How did a normal day get so bad? Blood was splattered on the floor and walls, people were running and screaming. I couldn't hear any of it. All I could hear was was the sound of my heart beating in my chest and the sounds of cruel laughter. The laughter of a monster.

I was shoving past several people, I heard something about the water duo. They would help my parents, right? Skylah was at school still making up a test she missed. I thought my day would be going shopping with mom and dad, pick up Sklyah, and then head over to the orphanage. I was knocked over by a person and kicked in the head knocking me out.

I woke up instantly asking where my parents were. The doctor just looked at me with the saddest look I have ever seen.

"I'm sorry, but your parents are dead."

With those words, my whole world came crashing down.

I snapped out of my trance. I could feel a tear sliding down my cheek. I wiped it away as quickly as I could and stood up.

"You're leaving already?" Skylah asked me.

"Yeah, I'm getting tired. How about me and Skylah show you guys our rooms tomorrow." After that, I nearly ran to my room. I walked over to my bed, I thought about actually sleeping. Then I walked over to my closet looked at what I have hidden in the very back and look at the door of the closet. It was a picture of all of us, smiling, happy...and alive. I grabbed a black hoodie and a pair of black jeans, put them on and opened the window, and jumped out.

Wow. That was an interesting chapter. I put a bit of extra detail in it and I hope it was good. I hope you have a great Morning/Night/afternoon/ or evening. Bye.
