The masked woman who appeared to save Haku and the survivors of his race started to walk past him. The mask the woman wore was an off-white mask with a phoenix hand painted on, and she wore a cloak covering her hair, but it was long enough to wrap around her neck and have some draped behind her like a scarf. That wasn't the main thing that caught his eye though, in her right hand she carried a massive, orange-bladed scythe with a pole for the hilt, the pole was dark grey, but had flame designs wrapping around it. He wasn't able to see much else other than a few pieces of armor on her, but even then he couldn't get much as she lunged into the air out of nowhere, kicking up dirt, leaves, and even knocking a few trees over. Flinching slightly from the dust and air she kicked up, he watched her take off towards the retreating army before limping after her and the group he saw earlier.

Upon coming out of the forest, he saw the bloodied, corpse-ridden field he and his comrades fought and lost in, only there were far more bodies now, the new ones being of the Cold's army. Cold's forces were getting torn apart, some literally. He could clearly see the fighters now, or most of what they looked like at least. Two were females, and two were males. One female was a foxlike humanoid girl, sporting the fur of a red fox, a fluffy tail, and those triangular ears. She was more slippery and faster than the other three, using that advantage to dodge enemy attacks and go in for a quick kill before they even knew what was going on. One of the males was built to fight, wielding a halberd that resembled an executioner's axe, and he used it to cleave his enemies in half. The other male was quite buffed up, shirtless to show off his muscles and a scar shaped like an X on the left side of his chest, he had black unruly hair as well. The other female wore close to nothing, also having black hair, and she had a scar running diagonally across her upper chest, not to mention she had a monkey-like tail. It was quite the odd group, but they were taking care of the Cold army like it was nothing.

The masked woman who seemed to be in charge of this group was in on the killing now, not even flinching whenever she cut someone in half or blasted them away, though it was impossible to see her expression anyways. The invading forces were wiped out in seconds, the ships being destroyed, and only a few stragglers were seen fleeing, only to be cut down by the group. It was insane to Haku, how a small group like this could decimate an Emperor's army so easily. The general in charge of this invasion could be seen fleeing the fields, in a panic as he pushed on the button of his Scouter frantically. Haku panicked when he saw that, figuring they were going to call for backup. He wanted to rush towards the man to stop him, but his leg would keep him from getting very far, or very fast. He wasn't the only one who noticed though, the masked woman's head cocked towards the general before she disappeared into thin air in front of Haku, shocking him. She reappeared in front of the general almost instantly, grabbing him by the neck and lifting him up by it with one hand while the other held her blade dangerously close to his face.

"W-wait…! Please….! I have a f-family…!" The general practically cried. "P-please spare m-me…! I was…o…only f-following orders…!" He pleaded, he looked terrified at the masked woman.

She was silent at first, but then slashed the Scouter off his head, cutting off his ear and making him scream. "You want me to spare you?" She questioned, her voice cold. "Why should I do that? When you work for someone who kills innocents just for the fun of it?!" Her voice's volume rose as she spoke, making the general flinch.

"P-please…! I told y-you…I…I was-"

"Only following orders. I know." She spat in disgust. "You don't have to worry about that anymore." Releasing his neck, he would start to fall, only to get his head chopped off by her blade as she swiped it at his neck, killing him instantly. She watched the body and head roll for a moment before walking to where the Scouter had fallen, planting the end of her weapon's hilt on the ground as she picked it up, the bloodied ear falling out of it. She took a moment to inspect it as her group killed the remainder of the invaders. "Hmph. Still works." She muttered to herself. "Will have to clean it and see if Natsu can reprogram it."

"Excuse me?" Haku spoke up as he cautiously approached the masked woman. He saw her turn her head slightly as if to glance back at him for a second before looking back at the Scouter.

"So, the inhabitants take the form of…whatever you are?" She asked, tucking the Scouter in a bag on her hip.

"Well, no…We can change our form into different animals we know." Haku explained. "What uh…what are you-"

"Ha! That's always satisfying to do!" A masculine, cocky voice interrupted Haku, causing him to turn towards the new voice. The man with the axe was approaching him, as well as the other three. "We got 'em all, Phoenix, they hardly put up a fight!" He laughed confidently. He then noticed Haku and grinned. "Alright, we got food too! Perfect!"

Haku was about to panic, but Phoenix spoke up. "He's one of the inhabitants, Malroth. Not to mention he doesn't look that tasty." She turned around as she spoke, facing Haku and her group, including the disappointed Malroth. Haku could now see them all up close.

Malroth wore a black, skin tight short sleeved shirt under a dark brown, leather-like jacket, two leather straps could be seen wrapped over his shirt, going around his back, under one arm and over one shoulder, and connected to a metal plate over his heart. The metal plate had a reddish orange phoenix insignia etched into it. He wore skin tight, deep blue pants held up by a leather belt with what looked like a tooth as the buckle. His hair was messy, unruly, and dark brown, with only two locks of hair hanging in his eyes, or rather framing it. His eyes were black with golden irises and black slits for pupils. He also had elf-like ears, only longer, and his canine teeth were sharpened so they looked more like fangs.

The foxlike humanoid girl was wearing light armor, though it really only covered her upper chest, where her breasts would be if she had them, upper arms, and upper thighs, the armor being engraved with various designs. Semi-transparent fabric was attached to the armor, "covering" the rest of her body, though her legs, most of her arms, and stomach were visible. She did have a sort of leather collar hanging loosely around her neck, a metal plate attached to it that had the same insignia as Malroth on it. A fluffy fox tail could be seen flicking behind her as she stared at Haku with a look of intrigue, and she did have a muzzle, with sharpened teeth and triangular fox ears to match. Her fur was dark red, almost magenta, and one of her eyes was blue while the other was amber.

The larger male, who was about the same height as Haku, was shirtless like Malroth, only not wearing anything on his torso, and had a scar like mentioned before. He had a green fur sash tied around his waist and wore black spandex-like leggings, as well as white combat boots. A silver collar was around his neck, but it didn't look like it was for looks and it didn't have the insignia on it, that was around his waist like a belt. His eyes were jet black like his hair, he had a scar on his lower left cheek and upper bicep as well. This man was clearly a strong fighter and sturdy, he was ripped and just gave off a powerful aura.

The other female, who stuck to the large male like glue, had a scar as mentioned earlier. She was muscular herself, not as much as the male, but still. Her hair was jet black and long, but the ends curled up a bit, and her hair was jet black as well. She wore a white, bloodstained of course, cropped sleeveless shirt that really only covered her breasts and upper back. Her pants were like the larger male's spandex and black with matching white combat boots. Her upper right arm had a string with what looked like teeth hanging from it, and she had a brown tail that was loosely wrapped around her waist.

Aside what was mentioned earlier, their leader wore a faded orange shirt that hugged her body, the right sleeve torn on the end. Dim yellow fabric was wrapped around her lower right arm up to her hand, tied around her middle finger, and a sheet of metal was sewn onto the top of it. Dark red armor was over her left shoulder, a leather arm guard with metal attached to it was on her left lower arm as well. A metal plate with the phoenix insignia was sewn into her shirt above her heart. Her pants were dark grey, held up by a leather strap that was connected to a longer slab of dark red armor that protected her upper right leg, as well as a small bag on her left side where she put the scouter. Leather straps went around her left thigh, a pouch connected to them. Her shins were protected by metal shin guards, held in place by leather straps as well. Her boots were like the larger male and female with him, white combat boots but the ends of it were dark red. The scarf's end was also a bit torn up, having some holes and tears in it.

"Ah…my name is Haku." Painfully, Haku would bow down, trying not to put any weight on his injured leg. "On behalf of my planet, thank you for saving us."

Phoenix stared at him, remaining silent, but he heard Malroth snicker out of nowhere. "Hear that? He thinks we came here to save him."

Haku looked up in confusion, but wasn't able to say anything as Phoenix spoke up first. "We didn't come here to save you."

"What…? Then, why did…"

"We only follow the Cold's forces around and destroy them before they can do more harm! Saving people like you is just another positive!" The fox girl said, speaking in a cheery, upbeat manner.

"What? Wait, so you mean…you're hunting them down?! Don't you know how dangerous that is?! What if you run into King Cold? Or Freeza! He'll kill you without a second thought!" Haku pointed out in a panic.

Malroth scoffed. "Of course we know that. You think we didn't take the risks into account when we started following her? Besides, its satisfying to cut up these guys up! They really have it coming following the Colds!"

"But don't you feel bad? For killing so many people?" Haku questioned further.

This time, the other female scoffed. "Please. These guys have killed far more innocents. How can you feel sorry for that? At least we're killing them to at least try and stop them."

"But…"

"You aren't going to change our minds. Stop trying. Or are you with the Colds?" Malroth narrowed his eyes at Haku, pointing his axe at the Caralian.

Haku would stumble backwards painfully, his eyes wide. "What?! Why would I side with them?! They wiped out half my race!" He pointed out.

"Oh, leave him be, Malroth! Can't you see he's freaked out enough?" The fox girl chimed in, getting an annoyed sigh from Malroth.

"Of course I can, that's what makes it more fun!"

A sigh was heard from Phoenix, making the two fall silent and look at her. "Let's get back. We're wasting time here." She stated, picking her weapon up. She bent her arm around behind her back to place her weapon on a hook on her back, securing the weapon in place with the blade resting behind her left shoulder.

The group would nod and follow their leader, the fox girl being the only one who waved at Haku as they left. Haku watched them for a moment, processing the conversation they just had. He couldn't read this Phoenix person, and not just because she wore a mask. What was she after? She didn't seem interested in saving people, but at the same time she wanted the Colds gone to save people, she made no sense whatsoever. Haku would straighten up, looking around at the corpses littering the ground around him. He knew some of these people personally, close friends, family, and the Colds killed them with no hesitation or warning. He had to admit, it made him mad, well, filled with rage was a better way of putting it. He looked up after the group, seeing they had disappeared while he was distracted. Using his uninjured legs, he would jump into the air, taking the form of a bat-like creature, and flying in the direction he saw them going.

On the other side of the dense forest, he saw them land in a clearing, walking towards the middle as a ship seemed to appear out of thin air, further surprising the Caralian. Blinking a few times as if his eyes were playing tricks on him, he descended downward, transforming back into his human-like form before he landed. Of course, his wounded leg prevented him from landing properly so he fell flat on his face with a grunt. The four of them stopped and turned to look at him, most of them with a raised brow. Malroth grinned and crossed his arms over his chest as if expecting a show of some kind.

"W-wait a minute! Let me come with you!" Haku exclaimed as he recovered, his face covered in dirt.

Phoenix glanced back at him from over her shoulder, staring at him for a moment before speaking. "Why should I?" She shot back.

"She didn't even want most of us to come with her." The fox girl giggled.

"Because…because I want to avenge my fallen comrades! The Colds killed them without a second thought, and I can't forgive them for that! Please! Let me come with you!" Haku requested, even bowing with his face to the ground.

Phoenix sighed heavily, tilting her head up to the sky. "You don't belong with us. You should stay here, less likely to die a horrible death. Bury your dead and live the rest of your life."

"But…"

"You should listen to her, son." A new, gravelly voice said from inside the ship.

Haku looked up at the new voice to see a wolflike humanoid. He had long, reddish brown fur that covered his body, some near white patches of white on his neck and end of his muzzle. One ear was flopped over while the other stuck right up. He wore an unbuttoned dark orange vest with no sleeves, as well as red baggy pants that were held up by a yellow cloth belt, no shoes though, showing off his large, pawed feet. His eyes were a dim amber color, and he had a bushy tail.

"You should listen to your own words, Phoenix." The wolf addressed Phoenix, who was silent. The wolf then looked back at Haku. "All you'll find with us is more pain, suffering, and death. You should go home, stay with your family and friends. Some may be gone, but the rest of your race is alive. Take what you can, don't pursue vengeance, and live a full live. You shouldn't make the same mistake as Phoenix."

Phoenix looked over at the wolf now, speaking up. "I can't just walk away from this. You know that better than anyone." Her voice was cold again, more serious. She walked forward, walking past the wolf and going into the ship. "Natsu, I have something for you." She called as she entered the ship.

The wolf heaved a sigh as he watched her before looking back at Haku. "Son, listen to me, not many would choose this life, hence why there are so little here. You could die at any moment without any warning."

Haku listened to every word the wolf said before looking down, processing his words. Was it a good idea to follow this group? He barely knew them. But then what about the people who fought and died defending their homes? Could he really sit by knowing the terror and pain other planets and races will surely feel from the Colds? Haku's expression hardened, his fists balling into fists, and he looked up at the wolf.

"I can't let other feel the same pain and fear I felt today. I'm going with you!" He stated firmly.

The wolf sighed again while the fox grinned and bounced on her toes excitedly. "Yay! We're getting another member!" She exclaimed happily.

"Bet he won't last the next fight." Malroth added with a chuckle.

"Oh stop it Malroth! You're so mean!" The fox punched Malroth in the arm before turning back to Haku. "Anyways! I think we should introduce ourselves! I'm Inu. This is Malroth, he's really mean, but he loves fighting! The old wolf guy is Lobo, he makes all our armor and weapons and he's training me to do it!" She pointed a clawed finger to the wolf. "The tall guy is Broly, he is really quiet, but super strong! The girl with him is Saji, basically if you mess with either of them, the other will kill you, so be careful with them! You've met Phoenix of course. There are two more inside the ship, one is Paragus, he's Broly's dad, but he's kinda stick in the mud… Then there's Natsume, but we all call him Natsu for short. Natsu is our tech guy and navigator! If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be able to fly around or anything so easily. Oh! And I'm in charge of getting information and supplies!" Inu introduced everyone and herself, giving a brief introduction to them as well.

"Ah… It's a pleasure to meet you. Hopefully we can get along." Haku nodded at them all. "I'm Haku."

"Oi! Everyone get on, we're leaving in 30 seconds." Phoenix called as she poked her head out the door.

"Comin'!" Malroth replied, dropping his hands to his sides and heading towards the ship. The other three followed, and so would Haku.

The ship they entered wasn't very large, it resembled a medium-sized cargo ship more than a fighter ship, but then again, Haku didn't know if they used the ship itself in battle. It looked like it had seen better days though, some parts were rusting or looked like they were about to fall off. When he entered the ship, he saw a spacious area with some worn couches and a table, it was like a makeshift living room. There was a door to the right leading to the cockpit, and another door to the left that lead to a hallway, which lead to a greenhouse, storage, bathrooms, and rooms, it wasn't a small ship, not that it looked small from the outside. An older man was seen sitting on one of the couch, looking displeased about something. He had a tail like Saji's, a scar over his left eye, and had black hair, eyes, and moustache, though some grey hair strands were visible. This must've been Paragus as Broly and Saji sat next to him, not to mention he looked…gruff.

Phoenix glanced over at him, her mask still on surprisingly. "You're coming?" She asked, sounding annoyed. Haku jumped from her question, but then nodded in response. She groaned softly, not too happy with that, and it got a chuckle from Malroth.

"Alright! Everyone strap in!" An unknown voice called out through a speaker. "We're taking off!"

Everyone quickly took a seat, Inu muttering something before Haku felt the air tighten around his chest and lap as if something was pressing against him to keep him in his seat. The ship would rock violently afterwards, a deafening rumble sounding throughout the ship, but Haku seemed to be the only one who was bothered by it. The continued for a minute or so before Haku felt like the gravity increased, it was like the wind was knocked out of him as he was pushed more into the seat. The ship was taking off, and seconds later it shot into the air and into space.
