Who knows what tomorrow brings The road is long, there are mountains in our way Love lift us up where we belong Some hang on to "used to be" The road is long, there are mountains in our way Love lift us up where we belong Time goes by
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep it alive
But we climb a step every day
Where the eagles cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world below, up where the clear winds blow
Live their lives, looking behind
All we have is here and now
All our life, out there to find
But we climb a step every day
Where the eagles cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world below, up where the clear winds blow
No time to cry
Life's you and I
Alive, today
Up Where We Belong, Jo Cocker and Jennifer Warnes
Blair was still smiling later that night, with three fingers buried inside of Jo, kissing and sucking her very hard nipples as an aside, Jo in Heaven from the loving assault from her lover. "God, Princess", Jo said between shaky breaths, "what you do to me."
Blair looked up at her barbarian. "I do it pretty damn well, don't I, Joey?"
Even in her ecstasy, Jo was able to snort a laugh. "10.0 from the East German Judge", she said, which made Blair giggle.
"Enough judging, Jo", Blair said with a sultry moan. The pace of her fingers quickened, adding a thumb to Jo's swollen clit. "I think it's time you came for me."
Again Jo tried to joke. "You'll get no argument...oh, Jesus, blondie, God yes...oh God!"
Blair felt a new flood of desire exit Jo, covering her hand, a feral smile gracing the blonde's face, putting an exclamation point on the love-making by sucking hard on a nipple. She still didn't give her lover a break.
"Excuse me, ma'am", Blair said teasingly, "but I need to go clean up the mess I just made."
"You're gonna...oh, Jeez, Princess..."
Blair lowered her face between Jo's thighs, thirstily lapping up Jo's essence, making sure not to miss any of the musky sweet desire. She loved tasting Jo-it almost made her climax just putting the liquid on her tongue. A few minutes later, she crawled back up, her body covering that of her lover.
"Hello there, Ms. Polniaczek", Blair said with a smile, as Jo opened one eye, making Blair laugh again.
Jo leaned up and kissed Blair's lips and the general area. "You missed some, blondie", Jo said, tasting herself as she kissed Blair softly.
"Mercy", Blair said just before giving Jo a hard kiss, "we can't have that, can we?"
They settled into bed for the night, joyous that they could remain naked all night with each other, which simply didn't happen with a three-year old toddler in their lives. It was a small price to pay for the joy their son gave them.
"You seem to be handling this pregnancy thing better than me, love", Blair said a while later, softly kneading Jo's breasts.
"It ain't no competition, Blair, but yeah, the morning sickness wasn't as bad, but I gotta warn ya, my boobs are starting to become more tender-don't stop what you're doin'", she added, "but I'm gonna have to letcha know shortly that that'll be off-limits for a while."
"Well", Blair said with a mock huff, "I guess you'll just have to concentrate on my breasts in the interim."
Jo turned toward Blair and chuckled. "Yeah, I can see you're all broken up about that, girlie."
They both laughed, turning into a hug, Blair softly touching Jo's lips. "I love you so much, Joanna Marie. I don't tell you that enough."
"You tell me enough. More importantly, you show me, every day. I will love you forever, Blair."
Boots and Georgia didn't spend all their time horizontal, although both could swear to the contrary. They actually found that they loved going out on their free time away from the Institute, cameras at the ready, and take photographs of just about anything: people; plants; animals, whatever moved them.
They were both free spirits, and it showed in their interactions. And their sex was off the charts. But they wanted something simply beyond their physical love, and their shared interest was photography. "Why don't we open up our own photography studio, or see if we can free-lance together somehow?" Georgia had been running that through her mind recently.
"It's the business part that scares me, Georgia", Boots readily admitted. "But we could start with our own portrait studio, taking pictures of couples, families, even Boudoir photography?"
"I've thought about that, too, but we couldn't just limit ourselves to lesbian photos. How would you feel about seeing a straight couple, or a gay couple in all their glory?"
"I think it's be interesting", Boots admitted. "Yeah, I'll always have eyes for women, and can't imagine falling in love with a man, but, well, I bet there's some damn fine men to look and ogle out there as well."
"Perv", Georgia said with a laugh. "I've never had much of an interest in seeing a guy's penis, but then again, you only live once."
Over the next few weeks, they continued to discuss their future-usually after or between rounds of love-making. Their future together was starting to come into focus.
A Week Later
For Rose and Charlie Polniaczek, retirement had been the best thing that had ever happened to either of them. The pressure of daily life and trying to find a way to make ends meet was no longer a concern, thanks to the gift from their daughter-in-law in all but name, Blair Warner. They had taken several trips to the sun since then. This time, their trip involved going somewhere they had always wanted to go-Las Vegas.
It wasn't that Vegas held some mystical attraction for them, but it was one of those places that "you only live once" truly applied to. Landing at the airport at 10 pm, and seeing the dazzling lights from The Strip was a sight to behold.
They booked at the Aria, Rose simply taken in by the curving buildings that made up the huge structure. The had booked one of the panoramic penthouse Sky Suites, which was the most breathtaking view either one of them had seen, sixty floors above ground level. They would spend a lot of time at the casino, but both wanted to try some of the famous food joints, see a few shows, and take in the strip at night.
The second day they were roaming around, taking in the sights of Sin City. They seemed to be aimlessly meandering, but Charlie had set something up on a hunch before they had left New York for Las Vegas. He hoped that it wouldn't backfire on him.
"Why don't we go visit Bellagio?" It had been in the running for where they would stay when making their plans, both of them putting it on their to-do list while in Vegas.
Rose nodded. "Sounds good to me, Charlie", she said with a smile on her face. "Maybe we can try ever casino on The Strip before we're done?"
Charlie laughed. "My dear, we'd have to book a two-week trip. Not that we couldn't do it, but I have my limits on insanity."
"Could have fooled me with the insanity party, bud", Rose said with an impish grin.
They headed over to he Bellagio, wandering through the magnificent structure. While checking the place out, Rose noticed one of the famous wedding chapels that were everywhere in Vegas, the city being a Mecca for those who were eloping or who had planned a not-so-traditional wedding.
"Those look like fun", Rose said after she had grabbed a pamphlet which gave information the two chapels in the hotel, as well as the packages available. "I think everyone has thought about getting married in Vegas, even if it was a fleeting thought."
That was Charlie's cue.
"Maybe it's more than a fleeting thought for some, Rose." Before Rose could speak again, Charlie had gone down on one knee, and had pulled out a ring box seemingly out of nowhere. He opened it, a beautiful, but certainly not a gaudy ring inside. Rose had small hands, and a big rock would look kind of awkward on her. "We tried this once, Rose, but it didn't work-but not 'cause we didn't love each other. We were always pulling in different directions. Care to give this old guy another try?"
Rose's hands flew to her mouth, tears in her eyes. "You sure know how to sweep a girl off her feet, Charlie. Of course I wanna try again." Charlie stood up, and slipped the ring on Rose's ring finger, a wry grin on his face. He leaned in and kissed her.
"I've never stopped lovin' you, Rose", he said earnestly. "You and I have learned so much in the last few years about what's important in life, and you're the most important thing to me-always have been."
Rose kissed him back sweetly. "It's amazing how much we've learned from Jo and Blair, isn't it?" The wonder in her voice made Charlie laugh.
"It is. If we were getting married back home, they'd be here, but I did this on a wing and a prayer, hopin' you'd say yes."
"When did you get so smart, Charlie Polniaczek?" They both laughed.
Two hours later, they had been officially married, had an official Marriage Certificate, and were the happiest people in Las Vegas.
The Next Day
Blair was working from home today, talking to her contact at the firm that she had hired to find her those that would work for her at the Warner-Polniaczek Foundation. It was starting to come into shape. Blair had arranged to meet with the CEO's and President's of other like-minded organizations, including the ACLU so that they could bring the new group into the fold. But today, at least, she could be home, making the calls, and spending time with her son and her partner.
She had just ended a call with the CEO of the ACLU, who would be in town the next week, so that they could meet. Blair knew her name got her noticed, but she wanted the established groups to take her, and her foundation serious, as she planned to be a serious player in trying to gain equal rights for LGBT's in New York and eventually in the U.S.
Jo had taken a call in their bedroom, smiling when she saw it was from her mom and dad who were in Vegas. David was playing on the bed with her, and had talked to his grandparents for a spell, but Blair hadn't heard more than a peep from either of them.
That's until she heard Jo let out a loud yell, startling the blonde. Thinking something might be wrong, she ran into the bedroom, only to find Jo and David dancing on their knees on the bed, Blair laughing at the sight.
"What's this all about? What was that yell?"
Jo handed the phone out to Blair. "Ask Ma, she'll tell you."
"Mom?" Blair didn't know what to make of the sudden insanity in their house.
"Hello, Blair, dear", Rose said, sounding as excited as she ever has. "Sorry for Jo's outburst, but when I told her what happened yesterday, I can't blame her."
"What happened yesterday?"
Rose told Blair about the sudden wedding, and what a great time she and Charlie were having, Blair crying and congratulating her almost in-laws. When she finally hung the phone up, she joined Jo and DC on the bed. She looked first at her lover, then her son...
"Woohoo!", she yelled, grabbing their hands, all three dancing on their knees at the wonderful news.
