Chapter 2
So, she met her adolescent mother. It's okay, that's fine, because Emma had prepared for this. She had three plans. The first plan, Plan A, would consist of her acting mysterious, like a guardian angel or something. She would spout some paradoxes and disappear suddenly, leaving her mother confused and in awe of her glory. Plan B was to flatter her. If mystery didn't work, she would compliment her as a distraction. People love compliments. Lastly, she had Plan C, which was to make up a fake identity. She had already decided on the name Suzie, which was known to be so overused that no one used it anymore. So her new name would be Suzie Hapriela. She had spent a good while coming up with an excuse about moving her to live with her grandpa, adding in more details that on most occasions wouldn't be needed. But, nevertheless, she was prepared.
At least, that is what she thought. In reality, she ran away like the devil was chasing her. Not very guardian-angel-like.
Once Emma found a suitable hiding place behind a group of trees, she almost died of mortification. She ran away! From her mother! Like a Coward!
"She probably thinks I am a weirdo!" Emma cried out, sinking further into her hiding spot. She couldn't even talk to her mother properly without running away, what's going to happen if there is an Akuma.
. . .
Maybe this was a bad idea after all, She thought glumly. Emma pushed herself up and reached for her pocket to get out another time gem… But the pocket wasn't there. She kept reaching for a non-existent pocket, soiling her dress with her dirty hands. Where did she put it? Why doesn't she have a pocket?
It then occurred to her. That night, she was in such a rush, that she didn't grab another gem! She was stuck in the past of her parents with no way to get back!
Her breathing started to get heavy, her eyes started to fill with tears. It was like being lost in a Walmart but worse! She picked her hands up to wipe her tears, feeling pathetic for crying when she was fourteen years old. But she couldn't help it. Emma sunk to her knees and bawled her eyes out for a good twenty minutes. This was it! Her first and last adventure! She was going to be stuck here forever. Maybe one day, she would become good friends with her mother under the alias of Suzie Hapriela, meet herself and Hugo as babies and watch them grow up. Until little Emma eventually made the same mistake she did. Oh the horror! And to top it off, Emma realized, she didn't have a grandpa! How was she supposed to keep up her alias if she didn't have a grandpa! This is even worse than she thought.
She was going to be locked in prison! Never to see her family ever again. Her parents, her brother, Hugo, those weird Kwamis-
Wait! That was it. Plagg! He had seen her leave. No way he would abandon her, a potential future holder. Now that she thought about it, her brother was there as well! If anyone could put two and two together of what she did, he could! She imagined that he would take a while to figure out exactly what time she went too, but he would find her! She was saved-
Wait! If her brother found out, he would tattle on her to their parents. The same with Plagg. If either of them saved her, she would be doomed! Never to hold a miraculous, never to touch the magical stones again, never to have her phone again! She took a deep breath.
Desperate times called for desperate measures. She can't rely on those idiots to save her! No matter the risks, she must save herself, or she will live a life of misery! Her social life, potential occupation as a superhero, and her chance to date Julien (the son of Alya and Nino), Everything! It would all be down the drain! That was it. She had made up her mind. She would remain focused on her goal at all times, and exemplify the qualities of a superhero. How could she possibly save others if she couldn't save herself? This would be the real test. And, if she became a woman on her trip here, she would certainly become a superhero on her trip back. Let's roll.
She took a step out of her hiding spot bravely and looked around like she was going to own the world one day. However, it took a couple seconds of strutting around that she realized she didn't know what to do. She couldn't make stones, that was a given. She didn't know how. Her brother might, but she didn't. She could think of only two other options, find one more time stone, or… steal the bunny miraculous. To be honest, the latter sounded much more fun and adventurous to Emma, but with everything important to her hanging on a thread, she decided to play it safe. Find a time stone, get out of here no problem.
But there was a problem, magic stones in general, even the ones embedded with the power of weak miraculous', were extremely hard to find just out of nowhere. One doesn't leave such important things on the ground.
Here is where Emma's extensive knowledge came in. When she was younger, she pestered her parents for stories. Someone who came up often in their stories was a man named Master Fu. She had never met him, apparently he died before she was born. So, this, among other things, was an opportunity. She would find the guardian of the miracle box, who, no doubt had stones lying around, and also get the chance to meet him. Wasn't she a lucky girl? She'd be even luckier if she could pull everything off without either versions of her parents finding out.
She got to work right away! Well, almost right away. She stopped for a bagel at Tom and Sabine's bakery, and stared mesmerized by how young her grandparents were. They were able to handle the bakery by themselves right now. In the future, they were planning to give off the bakery to Ivan and Mylene for their retirement. It was also amazing because she knew her mother had grown up here. Isn't that so cool! Her superhero mom! She guessed that she exited her room through the balcony to get to Akuma fights. She was so giddy that she had to sit down to eat her bagel.
And when she finished, She got to work right away! Well, almost right away. She stopped to watch a video about the mayor election. Someone named D'Argencourt lost the election with only three percent of votes. That must hurt. Then she got slightly swept away by the Ladyblog, watching videos of her parents saving Paris from Akumas.
But, when she finished, Emma actually got to work. She wasn't exactly sure where he lived. She googled his name online to come up with nothing. But, she did know what he looked like. So, Emma went sightseeing around the city, keeping an eye out for "Master Fu", until she saw something so shocking, so completely and utterly unexpected that she nearly passed out.
It was almost horrifying, It was… It was...
It was Jagged Stone!
