Sango led the group into the cave and told them the tale of Midoriko.
After everyone left, Leo lingered.
He stared up at the mummified priestess.
"What's wrong Leo?" Sango asked.
"It's so inspiring." Leo said. "Dying in the act of saving everyone like that. If only her soul had been save, she would have become a Whitelighter like me."
"Her soul? What do you mean?" Sango asked.
"It's trapped in the Shikon no Tama," Leo explained. "Battling for eternity. Maybe someday the jewel will be purified and her soul will be saved, but..."
Leo looked unbelievably sad.
"You saw that girl, Kagome," Sango said. "She made graves for my people. She has a good, pure heart. A pure soul. I believe she can save Midoriko."
Leo smiled. "Trying to cheer me up? Why?"
"You gave me a reason to live." Sango said. "I will always be there for you, Leo."
She kissed his cheek and left the cave.
