Before I continue, I'd like to do a background of the inverted character, Izuku Midoriya. Most are under the impression Izuku acts similar to Katsuki, which I disagree to. I believe he holds the traits related to Shinsou Hitoshi. He does struggle with sleeping, and his comments are either straightforward, or one sentence. HOWEVER, that doesn't preclude him from bullying Katsuki. He's still a total asshole, just a little more lenient than the original Katsuki Bakugou. Okay? Okay. On with the story!
"'Zuku.?"
The words that tumbled from Katsuki's vocal chords seemed to fail to reach the lavender haired insomniac's ear, for he hadn't even bothered to raise his head, which was odd; Izuku, as far as Katsuki knew, always had sharp and keen senses so you could say this perplexed him. The quirk harborer couldn't find it within him to move forward. It's like his feet were nailed to the carpet below him.. like the world slowed and only he and Midoriya were the only two inhabiting it.
Needles to say, he tried again. "H..Hey! Izuku Midoriya!" He spoke in an uncertain tone, simultaneously tapping the metal shelf just to his periphery.
That seemed to drag a reaction out of the smaller male. His head slowly lifted, as if cautious. And he paled, as though he'd seen a ghost. The container of pills that were grasped within his nimble, freckled fingers had been placed precariously atop the shelf.
When Izuku turned to move, in quite a swift motion, Katsuki gained the courage to speak up once more. Perhaps, this time, it was his alpha instincts stepping up to the plate, because he himself was shocked by the incoming words. "Stay."
And Midoriya did. He remained stationary, as vaguely instructed. His long lost rival hadn't uttered any snide remark, or something cynical. He just.. stood there.
It seemed the figurative nails were unhinged from the raven haired boy's soles of shoes, as he discovered he was moving towards his childhood "friend". Each step he could take, it was anticipated. The world around him moved every-so-slowly. He could hear his heartbeat within his ear canal. He could feel the tension that reverberated in the building. He moved.. lethargically? Perhaps from Izuku's perspective.
The freckled student (ex-student?) hadn't dared to move, and he hadn't dared to raise his head to face the noirette boy. But, he was forced to, considering the proximities between he and Katsuki.
The air was stale, but so thick you could slice a knife through it. Katsuki hadn't uttered a word, but it was purposely done so Midoriya could speak up instead. Much to the pairs surprise, Izuku had.
"Katsuki, it's.. nice to see you again," Izuku managed with quite an exhausted tone. Involuntarily, his palm was placed amongst his slightly bulging belly, as though to protect the newly developing soul. He attempted to shift his gaze anywhere but the taller's quite baffled expression.
Suddenly, between the blanket of silence, both boy's spoke in unison.
"I need to-"
"Can we-"
A pause, then sheepish chuckles following from the two males. Once silence once again overcame the pair, Izuku decided to dominate said silence, and pivot his body to leave the isle of medical products, but Katsuki had stopped him, lunging forward to take hold on the smaller being's wrist, in quite a delicate manner. The two knew the elephant in the room, but one of the pair had made their attempt to avoid such questions at all cost.
Katsuki is wouldn't allow him to get away. Not again. Let alone his alpha.
"Izuku.. we need to talk," The noirette uttered in a small tone, his grip becoming firm.
The opposing male allowed his wrist to fall flaccid within the other's clutch. He internalized his own actions, quite disturbed. Licking his chapped lips, or which pursed, he swallowed the lump on his throat, making the decision to reluctantly reply. "About?" He was playing the clueless card, which was unlikely of him, though he couldn't indulge further into this conversation, knowing the main topic.
But, again, he and Katsuki both knew the unanswered inquiry. So, with a gentle tone, he replied. "'Zuku," He tried gazing knowingly into the other's eyes, that he couldn't help but notice that lavender flare, had distinguished; it was dull, almost diluted in pigment.
Izuku's heart skipped a beat, with each moment that passed. However, in those final seconds, he answered with a small nod. As if reluctant for what was to come.
「」―
Their arrival towards Izuku's apartment was quite short, considering the distance between the convenience store and his home. The both of them had figured they wouldn't want to return back to the U.A. dorms, in regards to the purple haired boy's absence. If anything, he'd be bombarded with questions and perhaps some vulgar language that could be directed to his stomach. Knowing the shorter's reactions were to expected: abrasive, blunt, (anxious maybe?), Katsuki agreed to head to Izuku's home.
As the supposedly pregnant teenager had unlocked his door, he stepped inside, his keys jingling with each movement possibly uttered. "Shoes off," the freckled boy muttered, keys placed atop coffee table. Katsuki obliged. His childhood friend took notice to the mismatching socks and had managed a sly snicker. "Still sticking to the mismatch socks, huh? Typical Bakugou."
Katsuki found himself flushed with embarrassment towards the other's observation. All he could response with was a shrug, and a sheepish chuckle. He was in a hurry, anyway, and it wasn't like anyone would notice, aside from his childhood mutual. He couldn't subdue any of his senses, as a strong smell wafted the room. Subtle aroma of rain, and pinecone. He recalled that smell from childhood... the smell of Izuku. Just confirming his accusation, his rival was an omega. The alpha he harbored had growled and roared with great frustration, being under the impression the omega had already been marked.
That irritated Katsuki, but he hadn't dared to display that negative emotion. He wasn't to dictate the smaller. It wasn't his body, or his choice. Therefore, he didn't have a say. He had been against the whole thing of omegas being inferior to both beta and alpha. They had more potential than to being a source of breeding. And Izuku? Well he squandered those pathetic statistics and stereotypes. He was strong, and independent. Everyone knew that. In all honesty, he figured the smaller's second gender would be an alpha, or at the very least, a beta. Fate had other plans. His gaze shifted towards Izuku, both males sat upon his sofa. He noticed the sugary substance the lavenderette held: Vanilla yogurt with chocolate syrup. He recalled the moments of when Izuku would refuse anything too unnecessarily sweet. He didn't even have his own cake for his birthday. But now, it seemed like he'll eat anything in sight.
It seemed the cynical omega took notice of those unannounced thoughts, so he conquered the conversation for himself. The container of sugary yogurt was placed aside, hands clasped across his lap. "Before you ask: Yes, I am pregnant."
The noirette swallowed, opaque gaze descending from those freckled features, to the pudge Izuku adorned. "How far?"
As always, the pregnant teenager answered with a short reply. "Seven weeks, two days."
"Who was it?"
Both Katsuki and Izuku held a pregnant pause, as the origin of those words had appeared shocked to his own inquiry. The taller was never so straightforward, Izuku remembered; He wasn't one to speak his mind or voice is opinion upon any subject. In class, he was silent, evading any attention as possible, which was a stretch due to Izuku's sporadic pestering, but still. He was stunned.
Another pause, lavender brows furrowing together with utmost uncertainty. "What?"
Out of pure anxiety and fear, Katsuki began to wave his arms around frantically, a sheepishly smile spread across his pale complexion. "I-If you choose to answer, that is! I won't push you, I'm so sorry. It's not even my place. Should I leave? I can come back later if you-"
Irritation gnawed at the cynical omega. "Damnit, it's fine. Shut up," a purse of his lips, and more words followed. "it.. it wasn't your fault, anyway. Don't be so frantic."
By the mere utterance, Katsuki's stiffening had stifled, much to Izuku's relief. "Then.. what happened?" The noirette had a pretty common thought it mind, but decided to not voice it aloud. There was a chance he may be incorrect anyway.
The male was left with no choice but to explain. With a weary exhale, and his tongue swiping over the muscles of his chapped lips, he began to speak, carefully, and quite attentively. "As you may know, everyone is to discover their second gender at the peak of 15, or 16. I can't fucking remember. But, anyway. You and the class are well aware I was, what they call, "a late bloomer". Heh, like my so-called-quirk. Five months or so after your kidnapping, yes I.. I disappeared. I left U.A. because I had discovered I was presenting. It was reckless, and careless and.." A blanket of silence. Katsuki could detect the other's Adam's apple begin to bob, as though to swallow a lump. While the opposed was gathering his thoughts, the student waiting for him to continue his explanation as patiently as possible. And eventually, he did so. "..I fell into the arms of a stranger. Not literally, just figuratively. He was in his rut, I was in my god-forsaken heat, and we just, we fucked it out. He thankfully didn't mark me. I don't know the logistics of omega's and shit, okay? I wasn't aware. Fast forward to a week or so, I had been living with the stranger. It was unexpected, to say the least. The following morning, I awoke to this nauseating pain. I figured I was just suffering from a horrible headache, then I found myself vomiting without any warning. I had to wake up this guy, and he was pretty grossed out and asked me to clean it up. I did, anyway. We were both a little disturbed. Fast forward to the next week, I'm continuously throwing up, so I decided to set myself up an appointment for the doctors. Lo and behold, when the results came back and explained I was 100% pregnant. I.." Izuku's words trailed off, lower lip being gnawed at anxiously. Katsuki's never seen his childhood rival so worrisome and awkward. "I felt like my world was spiraling out of control. I didn't know what the fuck to do. I knew I couldn't keep this a secret from this stranger I just banged, so I told him. We got into a fightㄧI'm pretty sure I busted his nose, then he kicked me out. Said he wasn't ready for a kid. That his parents would kill him, and he tried to talk me into an abortion.. Tsk, fucker. Anyway. I had to confront myself to my mother-"
"Auntie Inko..." Katsuki interrupted with a reminiscing tone. He loved Izuku's mother. She was amazing, despite her blunt and abrasive attitude. Sometimes, when Izuku and Katsuki were younger, she'd visit the Bakugou's to pay a visit, and deliver these freshly baked goodies that Katsuki couldn't get enough of.
The cynical boy stared quizzically at the other, however decided not to question that odd expression and carried on. "So anyway. I called up the hag, and told her I was carrying the child of a strangers. At first, she was upset, but I explained it was all because of reckless actions, that I owned up to. She had eventually forgiven me and decided to pay for a small apartment I can take my refuge in. Now, I'm seven weeks, and two days pregnant. Prior, I had considered the abortion, but," A blush suddenly grew across his freckled cheeks. "I grew attached to this thing inside me."
"You knew you'd feel guilty, like murdering your own child," Katsuki sided with a pursed smile, which was quick to falter due to the glower that pierced the weight of his gaze.
Izuku exhaled with a short nod. "Necessarily, yes. But, it does become difficult with this.. fat I'm carrying. I fainted yesterday, because I refused to eat, even on my cravings," The upper half of his box tilted on an axis, pressed against the backrest of the sofa. "But, y'know, I manage. I guess."
Izuku hadn't caught the look of concern on Katsuki's face, as he had been ignoring his periphery and facing forward. The spiky haired boy internally growled. His alpha, that is. How could someone treat Izuku so carelessly? "Pretty sure I broke his nose". Yeah. That fucker deserved it. Little prude touched some delicate flower, only to discard him like trash. Who in there right mind would want to be rid of their own child? It was abandonment. He couldn't imagine how Izuku felt. At least that snake hadn't marked the freckled male's subtle flesh. That would be a dejecting sight.
Finally, upon moments of silence, the noirette spoke. He tone seemed.. bold? Sure? Izuku couldn't pinpoint it exactly, all he knew was that it brought some safety and relief.
However, that relief was replaced with bewilderment.
"What if I help you?"
