Chapter 2: Baldur
-The Next Day; Axel; Inn-
I quickly sat up and gasped for air, holding my left hand over my face. What the hell was that? Whose voice was that? Was I dreaming that? I groaned and shook my head as I looked around and noticed the change of scenery. I was in a room… And, it looked cozy. Then, I heard my watch beep and I looked at the watch as it pulls up a screen. Several of my options were flashing. The first I took notice of was my Quest option. I pressed on it and the fetch Quest was gone! Did Darkness turn it in? What about the book? Do I still have it?
" Hmm… Your body was perfectly suited to house the power of the Dark King. I am impressed," the voice from yesterday said and I looked around the room.
"Who said that?" I asked and my right arm began burning like crazy. I flinched and looked down at it, nearly screaming in shock. My arm was now a black gauntlet with a green gem on the back of it! I stared at my hand and touched the gauntlet slowly, feeling the mysteriously smooth surface of it. It looked oddly familiar, like I had seen it before. Oh! That's it… It looks exactly like the Boosted Gear from High School DXD, but it's colored black.
" Do you like my arm? It has been this way for eons ever since my imprisonment. Unfortunately, only that piece of me is free at the moment," the voice said and I looked at my arm and noticed the gem was glowing while the voice was speaking.
"Oh, you're speaking to me. Okay, well… This isn't my first rodeo, dealing with supernatural shit like this. Are you here to plunge me into the depths of despair, like you said?" I said, surprised by the calm in my voice.
" To be honest… No. I am tired of being evil, honestly. Weird, right? My name is Dark King, yet I do not wish to be evil. But, I still have a lot of aggression for the Devil King for locking me away like this," he said and I flinched at that. He is… Tired of being evil? Hell, I'll take that. I don't wanna be made into some sort of evil monster or something…
" Don't get me wrong, fleshling. I am still named the Dark King… I am just not going to be killing anyone. I will still be doing some crazy things with your body, just not on a genocidal level. I want my revenge on the Devil King, that's all. And, you are gonna help me," he continued and I scratched the back of my head with my left hand, " I have not introduced myself. I am Baldur, the God of Rage. And, I am also a Dragon." Baldur? Like, one of the Norse Gods from God of War? Huh… Didn't think there would be elements of that here.
"Well, my name is not fleshling. It's James," I said to my right gauntlet arm, "If we are gonna work together to kill the Devil King, I need to set some standards. If you wanna take control of my body, ask me. I am not gonna willingly get controlled unless it is for a reason. I will be also needing to use your immense power whenever I want… Not much at first. I am a reasonably good person and have a more strict training regiment that I have to follow. I need to get used to your power and not like zonk out when I'm really needed in battle. Finally, my destiny is mine to lead… But, I will kill this Devil King for you. After that, you can choose to leave my body or stay with me. Is that okay?" There was silence for a few seconds and I sighed, nodding my head. He probably is processing all I said.
" That will be fine. I was thinking that you would be unreasonable. I like you, kid… Nice first impression, too. I will agree to these terms," Baldur said as my arm glows. The gauntlet disappears on my arm and my watch beeped, signaling there was an update.
" I would check that. There is a lot to look over for you to understand who I am." I checked my watch and the screen pops up, showing me the main menu that had several of my options lit up. First was the Party option. It had a Race option under it. I checked it and gasped in shock.

WHAT?! I changed into a half Devil and Dragon, too?! Holy shit! Next was my level, and I gasped. It was now a level higher than Darkness! I'm now Level 18! This is insane… All from that book. Was he sealed inside of that book for a long time or something? Next was my bag and I looked inside to see… The Book Of Geist was still there!
"Wait, I thought Darkness turned this in! What happened?!" I asked in confusion and took the book out of my bag to look at it fully.
" That book is my prized possession. It has all my knowledge and most of my power locked away inside. I cannot part ways with it… So, the real copy stays with me. There was a fake that was given to the Quest giver. They will not know the difference… Even if they did, the book will kill all those who are unworthy," Baldur explained. I sighed and placed the book on my lap and went back to my screen. Next up was Skills… And, This one was STACKED.

Holy crap! That's a whole lotta Moves! I even got the Dragon Fist Ultimate version! I wonder when I will get the Kai attacks. I got a few supervillain Moves, like from Frieza and Super Buu. That can come in handy… I then noticed there was a second page of skills that weren't from Xenoverse. I went over to it and blinked in shock. I have never heard of these moves.

" Most of those are mine. The Shooting Star Slash is not mine… It is yours," Baldur said and I raised an eyebrow. Okay, so… That helps a bit. I had to check the other options before I set out for the day. I went to the Abilities option next and noticed 2 new transformations on it.
New Transformations!
Devil Trigger: As the name implies, this allows you to tap into your Demon abilities. Unlike the characters that can use a variation of Devil Trigger in the Devil May Cry series, you don't turn into a full Demon. You, however get a Susano'o to assist you as long as you sustain this form. You can also access an Astral projection of your Devil Trigger when you are in your normal form. The Susano'o is as durable as Adamantine armor in its purest state. Ups STR and VIT by 50% while using the full potential of the Devil Trigger.
Dragon Force: Utilizing Baldur's massive draconic power, you gain a new passive transformation. While using this power, you gain the abilities of a dragon and up your magic power by 80%. However, your INT drops by 30% the more you stay in this state.
Whoa… Okay, I got practically Nero's Devil May Cry 4 Devil Trigger and got a Dragon Force, like a Dragonslayer. I wonder what Perks I got… I closed out of the abilities and pressed the Perks option. And, there was no end to the surprises. There were 2 new Perks here, too!
New Perks Obtained!
Perk 4: Reincarnation of Dark King Baldur. Being a Reincarnation of a powerful dark dragon king, you are extremely powerful from the get go. You also gain the ability to subjugate any type of Demon under your control. However, being around holy beings will weaken you. 80% boost to all Supervillain based attacks and 30% decrease in damage to all but Holy attacks.
Perk 5: Dragonborn. Gaining the powers of a dragon is pretty crazy but rewarding. However, leveling up after a certain level will slow down. 100% boost to all attacks but leveling up after level 30 will be extremely steep.
Oh, man… I think the last perk might be the best for a fighter like me. I like to train and getting stronger. However, I figured that I will be led to a steep level yield eventually. That's what weighted clothing is for… Even if my level is low, my power will more than make up for it. Perk 4 is pretty good… But, I have to look out for clerics in the field. I put the screen and looked at rhe book on my lap. I opened it and found the first page.
" To my direct descendants or my Reincarnation, whoever gets this book first… I leave you a piece of my power. Take it and decide your destiny. After that, I urge you to learn our family history… It is imperative that you learn the truth of it, " I read aloud and flipped to the next page. Okay, so from what I read from the next 10 pages or so… Apparently, Baldur is from a rare breed of Dragons that lived about thousands of years ago. Baldur didn't start out evil, he was actually driven to evil. He was actually a good soul that cherished life and had good intentions to live in harmony with any living being. Until he met the Devil King, who was unnamed for some reason. The Devil King deceived him and slaughtered his breed. He and his wife, Tiamat, were left. They were driven apart by Baldur's lust for revenge and Tiamat had fallen into a depression. From what the story had said, Tiamat's Reincarnation have not been found in thousands of years, like Baldur. But, I wonder why that is. That means… I am the Reincarnation of Baldur. That is the only explanation since otherwise I would have died by touching this book in the first place. I closed the book and rubbed my chin, thinking about what I read. I sighed and looked at my arm as it looked normal again.
"Baldur, looks like there was a reason why this book stuck with me. I am your Reincarnation." I said as I rubbed the back of my head, "I don't know if it is a good idea to tell anyone that, though."
" No, it wouldn't… But, it will come out eventually. Just be careful who you tell," he said and I nodded my head, " I look forward to working with you… James."
"Same, Baldur," I said and kicked the covers off of my body. I wasn't wearing my shirt and my pants were still on my body plus I was barefoot. I pulled back up my screen and went to Customize. I chose the Gi(Demon) and customized the colors to red, green, and black. I equipped the Power Pole and Tapion's Sword to my back and right belt loop. I looked back at the book and picked it up. I thought about it and looked it over, seeing if there was any strap attached to it. There was a brown strap on the back, so I tied it to my belt loop beside my sword and stretched my body out. I had decided to meditate and get that skill leveled up. I wonder what happened with Darkness… And, bigger question. Why am I in this room? About 40 minutes later, the door opened and Darkness walked into the room with a tray of food in her hands. She saw me and stopped as I walked over to her.
"I assume you lugged my unconscious body here?" I told her and she smiled while coming over to me, "Thanks. That food for me?"
"Yes. Sit down and eat… I don't know if you are starving or not," she said and noticed the book on my hip, "Wait, I thought I turned that in."
"…Well, you gotta promise not to tell anyone. It's a bit complicated," I told her and sat back down on the bed and patted the left side of me. She took a seat next to me and hands me the tray. I looked down at the food and saw a steak with a roll of bread and a warm drink in a brown cup. I looked up at Darkness and she blushed as she looked at me. I sighed and held up my right hand and the gauntlet appeared over my hand. She gasped as she looked at it, touching it slowly while getting closer. I told her fully what I know about Baldur and that I was his Reincarnation. She sat and listened to what I told her, all while rubbing my gauntlet. When I finished, I took a drink from the warm drink and realized it was raspberry tea. Mmm… And, it was delicious.
"Okay, I think I understand. So, would you be able to defeat the Devil King now?" Darkness asked me and I shook my head seriously.
"It's not that simple… I just had this power awakened. I need to get used to the power before I use it. It's not like I can walk up to the Devil King and one shot him… There needs to be training done, ya know?" I told her as I shrugged my shoulders, "I wish I could just go up to him and just one shot him… But, that is a fever dream. Besides… I need a team just in case I get swamped."
"S-swamped? What does that mean?" Darkness asked me and panted slightly. I sighed and rubbed the back of my head. Yeah, I forgot that quick that she was a masochist. Well, I'll deal with it.
"Teamed up on. I assume you know what that means," I said and she moaned lightly at that. I chuckled and shook my head. Damn it, I think I like her… She is as perverted as I am.
"Anyway, let's take on out next quest. Since we are traveling together, we can get a lot done, ya know?" Darkness smiled and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"You finish breakfast first. I don't want you to faint without eating anything," Darkness said and stood up, "I will be waiting downstairs for you." Darkness walked to the door and closed it behind her and I smiled. She made me breakfast… Despite her masochistic behavior, she does have a caring heart. I mean, she got me a room and made me breakfast. I sighed and dug into my breakfast, preparing myself for the day.

After breakfast, Darkness and I walked to the guild to get the next quest for the day. We went over to the bulletin board to look for the next quest we can handle. I still had one quest in hand for the kill quest, but it doesn't hurt to take on a few more to get some more money and EXP. I mean, with my Dragonborn Perk active, after level 30 I will level up a lot slower. So, I better get the EXP while I can. That reminds me, wonder what happened to Kazuma? Did he get sent to this world, too? I hope so… I would have a companion from my world.
"Hmm… Which one sounds appealing to you, Darkness?" I asked her e opinion and she scanned the board for a Quest we can handle easily. She stopped and saw one that looked appealing. She took it off the board and handed it to me. I took it and looked it over.
Quest: Kill 3 Fenrir Queens
Location: Abandoned Plains
Rewards: 10000 Eris Coins; 20000 EXP; Super Rare Weapon Obtain
Ooh… Okay, we can do that. Super Rare Weapon sounds enticing to me. I nodded to Darkness and I put the Quest away in the Quest Inventory, automatically accepting it. Then, I heard a commotion near the booths where I had been yesterday where I registered to get my Adventurer license. Darkness and I looked over and saw a large crowd surrounding the booths. We looked at each other and shrugged as we walked over to see what the heck was going on… And, I was not prepared for what was waiting for us. It was KAZUMA AND AQUA, HERE IN THIS WORLD. And, they were getting their licenses. I tapped on one of the Adventurers shoulders and asked what was going on.
"That blue haired girl just became an Arch Priest on her first day! It's incredible! Hey, aren't you the Martial Artist?" He said and I nodded my head. Aqua stops as she looked over at me. She ran over to me and tackled me to the ground in a hug.
"James! This is so great! I'm an arch priest! We can be a party!" Aqua told me and I looked at her and then saw Kazuma walking over to me and Aqua. He stopped to look at Darkness and then at me.
"You already got someone in your party? Awesome! We will be unsto-"
"Hold it. I have many questions and we are attracting a crowd," I said seriously as I got out of Aqua's grip and stood up with her, "Why don't we have a seat over there and I can introduce you?" Aqua and Kazuma nods their heads and we sat down at a nearby table as the crowd settled down and I looked at them, folding my arms and thinking about what to ask.
"Okay, first and foremost. This is Darkness, my party member. We were about to go out on our Quest," I said and Darkness bowed to them, "Next, you notice something different on my person, don't you?" Aqua looked down at the Book Of Geist and gasped.
"Wait! Is that-" She said in shock and I shushed her, "Where did you find that?! You have to destroy it, immediately!"
"I can't… Because, what I am about to tell you is highly secret. You CAN'T tell anyone. PROMISE ME," I told her and she sighed as she sat back.
"Apparently, you forgot to tell me that I was a descendant of a dragon God that went toe to toe with the Devil King. Or, did you not know that?" I continued and she blinked in confusion and gasped.
"Umm… I kinda remember now. Cut me some slack, okay? I resurrected a bunch of NEETs on the daily and tend to forget a bunch of stuff. Wait, does that mean you are extremely OP?" Aqua said seriously and I thought about it.
"Not really extremely OP. I'm not even there yet.. But, fodder enemies shouldn't be a problem for me. That Grand Orc would've been a problem hands on if I didn't have Special Beam Cannon. If I had a lot of training, yes… I would be OP," I said seriously, "I mean, I am part Saiyan too. And, Saiyans grow extremely fast under different types of gravity, after all. As well as wearing weighted clothing helps, too. Piccolo always wears weighted clothing to grow his strength, although he gets outclassed by the Saiyans. Sorry, going off topic… My point being I am at the point where I will only get stronger instead of weaker if I train. And, learning that I am the Reincarnation of a dragon God is kinda mind boggling."
"Having Baldur's power is scary, especially since he is a rage dragon. Ugh, dealing with his shit was bad enough," Aqua groaned as she place her chin in her hands, "Did Baldur mention me in his book?"
"Haven't gotten that far… But, I will let you know," I said and Kazuma and Darkness looked back and forth at us, "Oh, and by the way. Baldur is denouncing his evil part of him. You won't have to worry about me going berserk… For now." Aqua flinched as she heard the last part. Why was I acting like this to the woman who gave me a second chance? Was it Baldur? He must have a distaste to her if I am being snarky to her.
"You know, you should be thanking me for giving you all that power you know. I mean, I could've left you in the dark," Aqua pouted and I frowned at her.
"Yeah, you would have… Yet, here you are. What happened with that?" I asked her in a snarky tone. She shot a glare at Kazuma and I looked at him and laughed. Did Kazuma get one over on her? He must've used his wish to bring her here with him… But, he screwed himself out of getting a useful ability. Damn, I don't know if to either feel bad for Kazuma or feel pity for Aqua.
"I am so sorry you got sent here," I said aloud and Aqua stared at me, "I mean, I asked to be half Saiyan. You could've asked for something like a sword or a power."
"Well, she was calling me a NEET. What was I supposed to do?" Kazuma asked me and Aqua glared at Kazuma.
"You ARE a NEET if you are gonna abuse my power like that!" Aqua said angrily and I pinched the bridge of my nose in an annoyed tone.
"He isn't technically a NEET if he died outside, right?" I said as I looked at her and he clapped his hands together.
"Thank you!" Kazuma agreed.
"Why are you agreeing with him?! I thought you would have common sense!" Aqua argued with me and I sighed.
"Listen, I do appreciate you giving me a means to protect myself… But, if you can only grant a wish like that once a month… I don't think you have any room to argue here. Do you have any offensive magic?" I asked her and she flinched at that, scratching her cheek, "Y-you're kidding me… You DON'T?"
"I can only heal, purify, and resurrect! I don't have any offensive magic except my God Blow and God Requiem!" Aqua said and I smacked my forehead. Oh my god… Kazuma, I really think you screwed yourself here.
"I hope you realize that Arch Priest start out with no attacking moves. Just having that God Blow and God Requiem is good enough!" I said, "I take it back… You are useless."
"Hey! I am not useless!" Aqua said with a blush and I stared at her with a pitying look, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"James, I do think that is enough scolding," Darkness blushed and I sighed, nodding my head. I stood up and took out some gold coins from my pocket and put it on the table.
"What? What are you doing?" Kazuma asked me and I looked at him.
"Think of it as an advancement. I assume you don't have any money either, do you?" I told them and Kazuma shook his head, "This is about 3000 Eris Coins. Use it wisely and don't blow it all at once. If you are hurting for cash, get a job. There are many places that are hiring. I will be getting one soon, as well. Come on, Darkness." Darkness stood up and we walked away from the table. I stopped and looked back at Kazuma and Aqua as they took the money. I sighed and shook my head.
"Sorry, Kazuma… Aqua. You need to try and get used to how this world works, just like me. I gave you enough to try and get something started. Try not to spit on my good nature, okay?" I walked away with Darkness followed behind me.
"That girl, she was a Goddess?" Darkness asked me in surprise and I nodded my head, "Then, why did you talk down to her?"
"I… I don't know. It must have been Baldur, still holding a grudge against her," I said as I looked at my arm, "But, he has some merit… If Aqua can't help Kazuma with offense, they won't get far. If I were brought here the same time as they were, I would have stuck around with them. But, since she is surrounded by Holy energy… We are like polar opposites now. If we get near each other again, I doubt it will get anywhere nice. For now, I would not be around Aqua for a while until I can get a good handle on these powers."
"Okay. Well, if you need some help venting… I can help," Darkness blushed as she looked at me. I sighed and nodded my head.
"I… Will keep that in mind. Thanks," I said.
-Scene Skip; Plains; 30 Minutes Later-
Quest: Kill 15 Giant Frogs in 7 Days
Darkness and I were busy, engaging in battle with the frogs that we battled yesterday. Well, more like I was battling and Darkness was taking the damage for me. And, she was tanking each hit like a champ and delivering her hits as she got close. I gave her some advice on how to make sure she doesn't miss her target at close range. Once her opponents get close, she can deflect and counter any attack when they get close. Well, that actually worked for her and she got some big hits on the frogs. She threw the frog she was facing away from her as I charged at 2 more with Kaio-Ken active and the Power Pole in my hands and whacked them across the face with the elongated rod. I landed beside Darkness and spun the Pole above my head and Darkness swung her sword in front of her, preparing for the next bout. We had already killed 3 more Frogs and had gained a level. We looked around at the surrounding Frogs and I frowned at their tenacity.
"This is getting a little tedious. Despite being low leveled, their numbers will overwhelm us. We need a long range fighter," Darkness told me and I nodded my head, agreeing with her. I could use Giant Storm or one of my other Ki attacks… But, I could risk friendly fire and hit Darkness on accident.
" Saber of Light!" a female voice called and a blade of magic power cute through the air and sliced through 3 of the surrounding Frogs, cutting off their heads. Then, a blue Blur sped past us and knocked the remaining Frogs away from us. It stopped in front of me and gave me a smile. What the fuck?! Was this… XLR8?! A Kineclarean?! XLR8 stood up and smirked at me, patting my shoulder with his Claws.
"I am happy to see you, old friend. How long has it been, 2 years your time?" XLR8 said in an altered voice that I somewhat recognized.
"Wait, CONNOR?! What the hell?!" I said in utter shock as XLR8 pressed the Omnitrix logo on his chest. A bright green light blinded me for a second and went away immediately. I uncovered my eyes and looked at a young male with orange hair and green eyes standing in front of me with a broad smile on his face. He wore a version of Ben Tennyson's outfit from Alien Force, with the jacket having his name written across the left side and the jacket colored orange and black while his pants were teal and green. He had the Ultimatrix fastened on his left wrist while he had a dagger hanging off his left belt loop. Connor Evansons, a close friend of mine from childhood that died of cancer at 13. He had a short life and 2 more friends of mine and myself had comforted him in his time of need, being there when he needed us. He got brought here when he died?!
"Hiya, Jamie! How'd you get here?" Connor asked me as he pats me on the shoulder. I blinked in shock at this revelation, stunned at this mind blow.
"Connor, do you know him?" a voice said as a girl with long brown hair tied in twin tails that draped on her shoulders and Crimson red eyes walked up behind him holding a silver staff in her hands. She wore a low cut black blouse and short pink miniskirt under a long black robe and cloak and I could barely see a short sword attached to her waist behind her.
"Yeah. Remember I mentioned I had a friend in a past life? Well, this be him," he said to her as he introduced me to her, "James, this is Yunyun. She is part of the Crimson Demon clan, and a powerful Arch wizard. Yunyun, this is James."
"I have so many questions… But, we can catch up later. We got more incoming!" I said as I looked back at more Frogs hopping towards us, "Hey. Darkness! Heads up!"
"On it!" Darkness called as she held out her two-handed sword in front of her and I held out the Power Pole in front of me.
"Yunyun, could you provide support?" Connor said as he pressed on his Ultimatrix.
"Of course, Connor. Go get 'em!" Yunyun said happily and he pressed on his Ultimatrix. He began changing form… And, morphed into Artiguana. We charged at the frogs and I delivered a drop kick that hits one frog in the stomach. I leaped off of the bloated stomach and held out my left hand as Artiguana fires off an ice breath and froze the frog solid.
" Vanishing Ball!" I called and a soccer ball sized pink Ki orb appeared in front of my hand. The ball was launched at the frozen frog and exploded on contact, blowing up the frog into thousands of frozen chunks. I landed beside Artiguana and pat him on the back, making him turn to me and smirk.
"Let me guess, Dragon Ball?" He said and I laughed.
"What gave it away? The tail? The Power Pole? Or the fact that I can use Ki?" I joked and he laughed at that, "Anyway. Go help your girlfriend. I got it from here."
"Not my girlfriend," he said and I rolled my eyes at him. I raced ahead to help Darkness with the frogs that surrounded her. Lightning bolts struck the ground around the frogs and knocked them away.
" Sudden Storm!" I called and fired off purple Ki missiles at the airborne frogs. They were knocked away and Darkness slashed at them, actually landing on target this time. They were cut in half with each Slash. Eventually, we had cleared the plain of all the frogs. We regrouped and Artiguana changed back to Connor. I hugged Connor and he hugs me back.
"Good to see you again, man. You look great without all the… You know," I told him and he chuckled while shrugging his shoulders.
"Yeah, I know. Felt like hell there when they're in your skin, pumping painkillers into your bloodstream 24/7," he said and rubbed his arms, "I still feel the pain from them every now and again. But, at least I ain't in anymore pain, know what I mean?"
"Yeah, try getting hit by a damn 18 wheeler. Shit hurts, man," I told him and he cringed at that, "Yeah, I died like that."
"You died, too?! Aw, man! How old?" I asked him.
"You won't believe me. That was about… 2 days ago," I said, "I'm 16, and I died like that."
"Aww, seriously?! 16?! Man, you probably died a virgin!" he said with a teasing smirk.
"Don't remind me, jerk!" I blushed and he laughed. I sighed and shook my head, looking back at Darkness. She was processing what we were saying.
"Long story, Darkness. I'll tell you later. For now, we have 1 more quest to go on before we head back to turn in both Quests. Do you know the way to the Abandoned Plains?"
"Do you have a map?" Darkness said, regaining her composure and I brought up my watch and brought up the world map.
"The hell? What's that?" he asked me and I showed him the watch, "Wait. Is that the Great Saiyaman watch?"
"Yep. Recalibrated to work as a Gamer menu for all my needs," I said and he looked at it curiously, "So, where to?" Yunyun came up beside Connor to look at the map as Darkness points about 30 miles north of our position.
"It should take some time to get there from here, unless someone can teleport," Darkness said and I shook my head.
"I can. I usually set teleport points wherever I go to help me get around easier. Connor and I have already been to this place, so we can get there easily," Yunyun said as she looked at us.
"Can you get us there?" I asked her politely and she nods her head. She held out her staff and told us to get close to her. We were then surrounded in a red magic circle and vanished into thin air.
-Scene Skip; Abandoned Plains-
A magic circle greeted us as we reappeared and I looked around at the barren landscape. It looked like we landed in a desert and there was barely any green in all directions.
"Man, this is kinda cool… And, kinda creepy. Am I right?" I said as I rubbed the back of my head.
"You said it, dude. Yunyun, are there any magic beings in the vicinity?" Connor asked as he walked up beside me. She held out her left hand and closed her eyes.
"She can sense magic? " I asked him and he nods his head.
"It's a skill I taught her a while ago. It has the same principles as Ki sensing," he said and I ahhed while nodding my head. I understood how he figured that out. She shook her head no as she opened her eyes.
"Sorry, Connor… No magic beings in the vicinity," She said and Connor gave her a small smile while nodding to her.
"It's fine. You did your best," he said warmly and she blushed while holding her staff in her hands.
"Darkness. You see any monsters nearby?" I asked as I turned to Darkness. She was looking straight ahead without saying anything, as if she saw something. I went over to her and looked in the direction she was looking. There was a pack of gray wolves watching us from a Cliffside about 2 miles from our position, giving us hungry eyes.
"Looks like our entrance has alerted the wildlife in the area," Darkness said as she pulled out her sword, "How many Fenrir Queens do we have to kill today?"
"About 3. Why, are they hard to find?" I asked curiously and she nods her head, "Of course they are. No wonder why this was a Quest to begin with. All right, guys! Don't let yourselves get surrounded! And, watch each other's backs!"
"Roger!" Connor called and activated his Ultimatrix. He turns the dial on it a few times and pressed down on it. He had then changed into… Diamondhead.
"A Petrosapien? Interesting choice," I said and he smirked as he looked at me. I then noticed some differences with his Diamondhead form. Instead of how Ben had his colors for Diamondhead, Connor had an orange and black torso and his Ultimatrix logo was not on his chest, but his left shoulder. Interesting. I brought up my screen again and chose the BGM this time.
-Cue The Sky Is In Our Hands from Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 OST-
I moved the screen away as the wolves started charging at us. I pulled out the Power Pole and Darkness and I charged into battle as Connor got in front of Yunyun, making sure she wasn't being targeted by the wolves. I extended the Pole in front of me and shoved 2 incoming wolves into a nearby Boulder, knocking it over. Darkness concentrated and began slashing at the wolves in front of her, landing each swing and knocking them away. She was hitting her mark… Albeit missing a few swings, but still landing her hits. Connor has his hands raised and fired off dozen of sharp diamonds at the incoming wolves. Several went down as more evaded the incoming diamonds.
" Buster Cannon!" I called and fired off a cyan blue Ki beam at an incoming wolf and incinerated it into blue flames, killing it instantly. Another wolf leaps at me and tried to sink its teeth into my arm… Only to be stopped by a cyan blue translucent sword that stabbed into its head and killed it instantly. I looked at the sword as it was being held by a large cyan blue hand. The Hand was attached to a cyan blue arm… That was coming out of a cyan blue aura surrounding me. Ah, my Susano'o… It protected me from harm. Damn, that came in handy. I then had an idea and pulled out my screen again to check my Super Souls. More wolves charged at me and my Susano'o arm swiped them away with ease while I checked my screen. I switched out Piccolo's Super Soul for Master Roshi's Kamehameha Super Soul. But, This one was worded different than I remember.
Super Soul: Looks Like I Got Carried Away, Heh Heh! (When Using Kamehameha) Boosts Kamehameha by L (15%) (Always) Activates Ki Auto Recovery, Boosts Strike Supers by L (15%)
That Ki Auto Recovery is new… All this Super Soul did was make Strike Supers power up by a small amount and it was stackable by 6 times. What that meant was it could be stacked each time Kamehameha was used. These are some weird changes, but who am I to complain? I fired off a medium sized Kamehameha at 2 more wolves and that white aura surrounded me and disappeared when the Kamehameha finished. I roll out of the way as a large purple wolf with a scar over its left eye leaps at me. I stopped and looked back at the wolf as it skids to a stop and glare at me as it stalk towards me, it's white teeth bared and ready to bite down on me. My watch beeped and I brought up the screen.

Ugh! Dismemberment?! Blood Loss?! Those are nasty ones! I put the screen away as the Fenrir Queen leaps at me. The Susano'o arm slammed down on its head and stops its advance. I shook my head and got ready for it to attack just as another Fenrir Queen jumps at me. Darkness leaps in the way and clashed her sword with the Fenrir Queen's Claws, which were sharp.
"Thanks. Looks like this will be more tedious than I thought. There are 3 of these wolves and they are higher leveled than I thought. I can handle one of them. Can you keep the other one off of me?" I told her and she nods her head while pushing back against the Fenrir Queen. At that moment, the BGM changed.
-BGM Change to The Heat from Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 OST-
I kicked the Fenrir away from me and backfired away from it. I looked around, scanning the area. The other wolves had backed off for their Queens to do battle with us. The last Fenrir Queen was in battle with Connor and Yunyun, who was keeping her distance from the Fenrir as Connor was using Diamondhead's crystal arms to try and heavily damage the Queen. I looked back at the Queen that I was facing and noticed that she wasn't attacking me. She was more on watching me, studying me. That's… Scary. She might be reading my Moves, sizing me up and probably thinking on a way to deliver a fatal blow. I had to do the same to make sure I stay alive. I put the Power Pole away and pulled Tapion's Sword in front of me in my right hand. Darkness was locked deep in battle with the other Fenrir Queen and was beating it in battle by countering every move she made and attacking back with a heavy blow from her sword. I must admit, Darkness is a quick study.
"Better keep up my end of the bargain. Baldur, these moves better help me in the long run… How do I use them?" I asked and the blade of my sword darkened, "Huh?!"
" Do I have permission to take control here?" Baldur said as the black gauntlet appeared over my hand and arm that held the darkened sword.
"All right. Just don't go crazy," I said and my eyes changed to pitch black with red slits appearing in the middle. My teeth had sharpened into 2 inch fangs and my nails sharpened into 2 inch Claws as scales appeared on my tan skin. Even my Saiyan tail changed into a pitch black scaly Dragon tail! Baldur had changed my body to fit him at the moment. I sat back as Baldur took control.
-Change Of POV: Baldur Brimstone-
Ahh… It felt good to be in the world of living again. But, I did promise the boy that I wouldn't lose control. So, I better get this over with. Cracking the ground apart under me, I kicked off towards the insolent pup that dared challenge me. It growled and charged back at me, roaring in anger.
" Vice Smash!" I roared as I switched the blade into my left hand and grabbed the Fenrir by its head and slammed its head into the ground, cracking it apart and unleashing black beam of my power into its head. It howled in pain as I held the beam there for a few seconds. After that, the Fenrir growled in agony as it tried to get back up. I stepped back and cracked my neck.
"Aww, come on. Aren't you supposed to be stronger than me? Is that all you have?" I taunted the pup and it roared as it got back up. It charged at me again and I laughed.
"Well, that's a yes. Come to your death…" I said as I held out my right hand and pointed my index finger at it. A small ball of Crimson red energy appeared in front of my finger.
" Neutron Burst." The ball of energy expanded into a large Crimson red beam of magic energy that eviscerated the Fenrir into nothing. I snapped my index finger and the excess energy changed into a ring on my left ring finger. Capturing that beast was easy… Subjugation isn't the same as it was in the past.
" What… What did you just do?" the boy asked in my mind and I chuckled.
"Did you not remember the Perk you obtained? Subjugate? This ring calls on all those you have defeated and use them as subjects or servants to your will. It was how I ruled over this realm a long time ago alongside the Devil King… Subjugation. Looks like I have lost my touch a little. One Swipe and any foe would be washed away from existence… Looks like we have a long road ahead of us to get the power I once had," I told him.
" Didn't that take years?" he asked and I chuckled.
"You have my blood flowing through you… Did you think I grew old and died of old age? Do you know how old I am?" I asked as I turned to the 2nd Fenrir that woman named Darkness was facing.
" Uhh… No. Haven't gotten that far," the boy said and I laughed.
"I never wrote it down, actually. I am over 6000 years old… And had eternal youth! So do you now," I told him and I heard him gasp.
" Eternal Youth?! You can never grow old?! Shit!" He said excitedly, " So, you didn't have immortality?"
"Immortality is overrated," I said simply and he laughed.
" Amen to that! It gets boring after a while, I bet!" he said and I nodded my head while walking towards the next battle. I pulled out my tome and opened to the middle of the book. Then, I felt my magic returning to me as a calming feeling envelope me.
"Mmmm… Such a nostalgic feeling. Now, we can have fun. Girl, step away from the Fenrir. I will wrap this up quickly," I called to the girl and she steps back while staring at me in confusion.
"James? What…" She said and I stared at her with a sly smirk.
"My name is Baldur," I said to her and her eyebrows raised in realization, as if she was processing what I said.
" Let the ties of darkness coil you in a never-ending hell… Lie in the unyielding void where you will dwell. With this spell I unveil, I shall send you to a new hell! NETHERREALM! " I called as I casted one of my greatest spells, creating a black void behind the Fenrir and forcing it to be sucked into the grasp of the void. The other wolves and the other dead Fenrir as well got sucked into the void and the void closed behind the last Fenrir Queen. I clenched my left outstretched hand and the void closed up. Then, some numbers generated in front of me and the boy's watch beeped.
"Ah. That should take care of that. Boy, it's your turn," I said and my body's form changed back to his form and I returned back to my space.
-Change In POV: James Scott-Naoko-
I cracked my neck and put the tome away, looking over at Connor and Yunyun as they came over to me.
"What was that?" Connor asked me and I scratched the back of my head.
"His name is Baldur, God of Rage. He is an ancient Devil/Dragon God from about 6000 years ago. I'm his Reincarnation," I said as I looked at him, "This is his book that can only be held by descendants or his Reincarnation."
"Okay, don't really explain much," Connor said as he rubbed the back of his head. I sighed and nodded my head.
"When I get to know more, I will tell you," I told him and shook my head, "For now, we cleared the Quest. I even gained 4 levels from that. Let me see…" I pulled up my watch and it pulls up the stats screen. I was indeed Level 22, and Darkness was ahead of me at 23. It even showed Connor and Yunyun's stats and levels. Ok, Connor is level 19 and Yunyun is level 18. Damn, Connor… Your stats are at my level, though!

Well, it makes sense that Yunyun would have high Magic since she is a wizard. But, her Vitality is as high as Darkness. I then swiped over to the Quest screen and checked it over again. Both Quests were completed, so we could turn them in. I wonder what weapons we can get from them… Would we get a choice? One way to find out…
"Well, we finished the Quests a little early today. What say we head back?" I told them and they agreed.
"We do still need to figure out this thing you have. Is it friendly?" Connor asked me as we got close to Yunyun so that she can teleport us back.
"For the moment, yes. I'd rather not piss him off just in case," I said and Connor agreed with me, "All right, Yunyun. You ready?"
"Yes. Just hold still like last time," Yunyun said and we stood still while she conjured up the spell. We vanished into the red magic circle under our feet and back to Axel.
-Scene Skip; Axel-
We reappeared on the outskirts of Axel and looked around. I turned to Darkness and she smiled at me while folding her arms across her chest.
"You are wondering who gets the weapons. Well, honestly… That is your choice. You are the boss of our group," She said and I raised an eyebrow.
"I mean, I can get behind that decision," Connor said and I blinked while trying to decide on what to do.
"Well, are you happy with your weapons of choice?" I asked Darkness and Yunyun.
"I am fine with my blade. No problems here," Darkness said and Yunyun nods her head while looking at Connor.
"Hmm… I could use a weapon just in case the Ultimatrix stops working," Connor said as he rubbed his chin.
"Well, that's settled. I can split the Quest earnings between the 4 of us," I said as we walked to the Guild. About a few minutes later, we arrived at rhe guild and I went up to the bulletin board and was trying to figure out how to turn in the Quest.
"Oh, right. This is your first time, turning a Quest in… Here, let me see them," Darkness said and I pulled both Quest papers out, handing them to Darkness. She then placed them back on the board and they vanished into thin air. Just then, a couple of small sacks of coins landed in my hands as well a blade that looked oddly familiar to me and a katana that had a ribbon attached to its hilt appeared hovering in front of me. Wait… I pulled out my screen… and nearly screamed in Joy. I DID recognize these weapons!

Weapon Description: This katana was wielded by Titania, AKA Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail. Even though the blade don't look like much, this blade was capable of felling many a foe in its runtime. Treat this blade with the upmost respect.

Man, that is some weird nerfs. There's a Fracture status? I thought about it and… Gave Crimson Blossom to Connor. I really wanted Lostvayne because it gives me access to Full Counter and Physical Clone. Well, when I reach level 30… Which isn't that far away. I put the short sword away in its own holster that it came with next to the tome on my belt loop. I sighed and stretched my body out. I then though about what to do next and realized that I could take the extra time to practice my powers. But, where is a good training area?
"Well, I have free time. Where is a good spot to train myself? I wanna continue getting a good grasp on my powers," I said to Darkness and she looked at me and nods her head.
"There is a place a couple miles away from the town that you can train. It has an archery zone where you can practice your accuracy, some training dummies where you can practice combat, and a place that you can train your mind. What is that called again? Meditation?" She said and I raised my eyebrows in intrigue, nodding my head.
"Axel's Training Grounds? Yeah, I can take you there," Yunyun told me and I smiled at her, "Connor is gonna hang back to get some food. If you like, I can drop you off and come back when you are ready to come back."
"I can agree with that," I told her and I went up to Yunyun and she teleports me and Darkness away.
-Scene Skip; Axel's Training Grounds-
Yunyun, Darkness, and I arrived at a large grassy field and looked around. There were large targets in the far distance, as if there were podiums set up for long range attackers nearby; multiple training dummies nearby; and, a few pads with weird magic circles set up on the ground a good distance away from the training dummies.
"This is good. I can get a lot done here whenever I come here," I said and nodded my head. Then, my watch beeped and I brought out my screen.
"What is it?" Darkness asked me and I looked back at her before blinking at her.
"Don't know… I am still figuring out this thing. Wish I asked for an instruction manual," I said and looked at the screen. It updated me on something interesting… Fast Travel. Oh, well… That would be useful if Yunyun can't teleport us anywhere. It pulls up the map and placed green flags on places I have been already, like the Plains where I had killed those frogs, the cave, Axel… Places like that. Next, it looked like there was a new place that opened up for me to check out… HTC? It was like… Off the map. Like, literally off the map. But, there was an icon right next to me that I couldn't see. I looked away from the screen and noticed there was a white hole that opened up next to me. Both Darkness and Yunyun looked in shock at the hole as I reached my hand inside of it. I pulled away quickly and blinked at it in shock as well. My screen whoosh in front of my face and there was an envelope icon in the middle of the screen. Curious, I pressed on the envelope and it showed a live screen of a blue long haired woman with a shawl draped over her head and blue eyes the same shade as Aqua's. I felt strangely calm around her as I looked at her.
"Eris…" I muttered and flinched at that. Baldur must knows her…
" Oh, good. I am able to secure contact with you. Hello, Hero. This is the first time we have met. I am known as the Goddess, Eris. Unlike my senior, Aqua… I intend to help you in any way possible. You have received the HTC, am I correct? I am sure you know what HTC means, correct? Being a Dragon Ball fan like me, you should know that," She said and I blinked at her. When she said Dragon Ball, I knew EXACTLY what she meant.
"A Hyperbolic Time Chamber?! How did you replicate one?!" I said in shock and Darkness charged over to me and stood next to me to bow to Eris.
"Goddess Eris! I am not worthy!" Darkness said and I stared at her in confusion and realized that she worshipped this woman. I haven't really learned about much in this world. I should take time to do that…
" It's not that hard, honestly. I technically am a Goddess, too. The only thing I have to do on my end is dilate the time difference to how you want it," Eris said and I scratched the back of my head.
"I mean, that makes sense. If I did it, I might screw something up. Thank you," I said and she giggled at me, "Okay, what is it set to now?"
" For each day that passes, 4 months will pass in there. Should be enough for a beginner's passage. Also, you will never go hungry thanks to a little Goddess blessing that I enchanted on the chamber. I can up it when you get more time accumulated, okay?" Eris said and I raised an eyebrow at that. Accumulated? Oh, makes sense… If I could have like a 1 day period and make it into like… 70 years for it, that would be extremely unfair. So, This is a nice compromise. I think I will do about 1 day in there and get some use out of it. And, 4 months should be enough to warrant some levels for me.
"Can I bring someone in there?" I asked her and she nods her head, "How many?"
" Up to at least 3 people," Eris said and I smirked.
"Then, I will go in alone first. Make sure it's safe to bring anyone else with me. If I remember from the show, the conditions in there can kick your ass if you aren't careful," I said, "Thank you for this, Eris."
"You are most gracious, Goddess! Thank you for this!" Darkness said happily and Yunyun looked on in surprise at this. She was stricken with speechlessness at this development.
" I am always available if you need me. I will update your watch now," Eris said and my watch beeped again. My menu screen then received 3 new options.

Awesome! This has been an eventful 2 days… I think we can get a lot done now with this!
"Thanks, Eris. I am grateful you have done this, honestly. I will try to give Aqua your best, okay?" I told her and scratched my head.
" Anything for you, James. Give Baldur my best, too," she said and waved to me. She DID know Baldur!
"Wait! There is something I need to ask you… And, she's gone. Well, I can ask later," I said as I sighed and shook my head as Eris hung up, "At least she gave me a really good training tool and a few good ways to talk and Travel around. Yunyun, head back. Darkness and I are gonna spend the rest of the day training."
"Okay. Be careful," Yunyun said and teleports away. I reached into the hole and it opened up wide for me to show me a white void with a building that looked real familiar to me in the middle of the void.
"All right, I know what I said to Eris. But, come on… We are gonna go in and train for the rest of the day. We won't have to worry about food and water in here," I said to Darkness, "Your accuracy training comes first and everything comes after."
"Okay. Let us embark on this journey of training," Darkness said and WWE went inside of the hole.

-And, that is the end of this chapter! Okay, a couple things to note. The big thing is the Reincarnation thing. That was planned from the start… I haven't really seen a story use elements like this to their advantage. Although, this Baldur is not anything like the one from God Of War. This one is more tame, since he has been waiting for a Reincarnation to come forth and be born in this world. It has been a while since one had been born. That will be explained later… Next, Connor. So, This one wasn't planned. Connor was actually supposed to be someone else, but I haven't used him in so long… I couldn't resist someone I enjoyed using back in the past here. He is also gonna be paired up with Yunyun later in the story… Which means if I get that far, Legend of Crimson will be really different. Also, the Ultimatrix… Again, wasn't planned. But, I couldn't resist. This could come in handy for later… I just need to figure out what the Ultimatrix can be used for it. Next, Eris and Baldur having history… That is another thing coming later. Let's just say Tiamat isn't Baldur's only lover. Next, The Hyperbolic Time Chamber AKA The Room Of Spirit And Time. This works almost the same… Only differences are that Eris sets the time dilation and there will be no need for food or water inside. Next, will there be a time Skip between chapter 2 and 3? Yes… But, let me explain. I wanted there to be a time Skip every now and then between chapters but not every chapter. THAT would be ridiculous, even for me. Lastly, Lostvayne… So, I kinda am on a binge for Seven Deadly Sins. So, expect some references here and there. Not too many… Oh! Can be turned On and Off whenever you want. When training, all stats will grow over time and EXP gain triples at rhe cost of high Magic Consumption.

Perk 1: Weapons Master: Gaining a weapon grants you the ability to be proficient with any weapon you come across. However, ACR decreased by 20 whenever you miss any attack during battle and goes back to normal when the battle is over.
