{2} A Strange Girl Tries to Convince Me the Guy Didn't Die, Also, My Corneas Get Burned Out.
"T-t-he sword?" I managed out, after quite a lot more time than I'd like to admit.
The girl's eyes widen for a second, accompanied by a strangely hilarious look of shock on her face.
"U-uhhh, you, you can, but the mist-you know what, never mind." The girl resumed her accomplished look on her face.
"Look, do you see that crater over there?" The girl questioned, motioning her had vaguely over to the destroyed wall without looking, keeping her gaze me the entire time, like I was going to run away if she didn't.
"Y-yes? Of course I do."
The girl scrunched her eyebrows together in a quizzical look, before speaking again.
"What a shame, but you didn't see anything, not a sword, not a crater, not a man flying out of the alleyway, nothing, nothing at all." She snapped her fingers immediately after speaking.
My vision went blurry for a second, and the sword she was carrying momentarily flickered into the shape of a golf club, then a wooden stick. My brain immediately forgot about all that had happened, I thought to myself "it's just a wooden stick, I should go home." All the memories of the man and the crater faded from my mind, leaving only the thought: "That wall is fine, what was I worrying about? Oh yes, I have to go home." I was about to turn to walk away, when, suddenly, my vision came back into focus, turning the sword back into its original form.
"W-what? What was that?"
The girl's face made a facial expression only identifiable by the words 'JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE HELL.'
My mind was still spinning from all that had happened, the explosion, the sword, the strange snapping fingers thing the girl did, was I dreaming? No, it felt to real to be a dream.
"Are you going to explain, any of this?" I spoke, snapping the girl out of her self-imposed trance.
"This is bad, this is very bad," The girl was muttering to herself before realizing that I had talked to her.
"Look, I-I don't know, I couldn't explain it to you if I tried, just do yourself a favour and ignore this moment for the rest of your life." The girl's expression was solemn and pitiful.
"But wait! All I want to know is if those things, did I see them, the crater, the man, your sword, were they-are they real?"
The girl looked away sorrowfully, her eyes glazed over in deep thought.
"I-I'm not sure-ugh." The girl met my eyes, her gaze was sad, almost defeated.
"Yes, but don't bother telling anyone, they won't believe you."
The girl turned to walk away, taking a bead off her necklace as she walked.
She took the bead in her hand, holding it out in front of her.
"New Athens, please."
The girl threw the bead onto the ground, it glowed a startling orange as it fell to the ground.
"No! You can't just leave! This isn't something you can just walk out of! There is so much you need to explain!"
I ran over to the girl, as the orange light grew hasher.
I placed my hand on her shoulder. "Can I at least get a name, or an explanation would also be nice."
The girl turned to look at me, and she mouthed "What have you done?"
I was surprised I could even gather that from just lip reading, but my pride quickly turned to fear as my eyes started to burn. The orange light grew hasher again, almost consuming the both of us.
"Another thing, what is tha-"
I was cut off, as they orange light consumed both of us completely. The last thing I remember before blacking out was my corneas being burned out.
