She didn't know what going on, or what she herself was doing. It was all senseless to her. She at this point only acted by her instinct.
And it told her to grab hold of the girl in front of her as tightly as she could.
So she did and latched onto the girl's leg. It was surprisingly stimulating. The lack of… well, anything in the void made her senses pick up even the slightest shimmers in the water, so making the sense of touch more overwhelming.
She also gradually noticed the loud sound above her. While she didn't understand a word, she did get that it was angry at something.
The sound suddenly peaked into a scream and with it, the now-familiar pulling sensation made her retreat, and nearly forcefully.
Now she could fully see that the girl was hurt. The pain expression told that clearly. Had she done something? She didn't know so she waited as she stared at the girl.
As the girl's face and posture relaxed, they immediately stiffened and now instead of hurt, she was angry —at her.
It hurt her that she couldn't understand any of the words, but the tone clearly indicated that the girl was furious. Each high point the girl's words made her curl up at the sensation in her chest, a pain that she had forced herself to forget, but her body still reacted to. It did bring into question why the pain there. Her memory was generally short-lived out of necessity. There was only the forgotten past and the present. So the question was to remain unanswered.
The girl seemed to have stuck the final skewer through her as the girl's posture finally softened.
Their "conversation" continued a few more moments as she tried her best to understand, but the words hardly made any sense. It was like trying to solve a puzzle but the pieces themselves were broken and having no idea there was a puzzle to solve in the first place.
Still, she could make out one fact: it was her fault.
All that had happened was because of her. She had been called but she had done nothing but bring suffering. She was supposed to be of use, and the one receiving her services was now disappointed in her.
She didn't deserve to be with someone who she had already hurt so much… but she couldn't deny her most primal urge.
To serve.
Despite her previous showcase, she still possessed the strength to stand. She wiped her eyes clean and looked for the girl.
The one in question had her burrowed eyes still on her. They hurt as much they did previously, but she had to push through it.
She wanted to say something to the girl, but she didn't know how nor what to say. But muscle memory worked just fine as she lowered herself to one knee and silently pleaded for forgiveness.
Weiss raised an eyebrow as the girl suddenly fell to one knee with her face still covered in the tears she had shed just a few seconds ago.
The position was clearly a show of obedience, that much was clear to The Heiress. Those who had come to her with pleas to marry her struck the same pose. They would do anything to get their hands on the industrial giant that was The Schnee Dust Company, even if that mean dismiss their own pride to do so.
Unfortunately for them, it did nothing but anger the young heiress. They disgusted Weiss. She held pride as something to be cherished and to see someone throw it away so easily irked her, especially when it was to please her.
But the current situation was different. It was more a show of respect and with the face, the girl had, a plea for forgiveness. It was the same for the rotating servants, who were as terrified as the girl in front of her when in a similar situation.
So she responded as she did to them.
"I'll forgive you, but make sure this doesn't happen again."
The girl remained confused, but at the same time seemed to be relieved. That was good.
"Now, do you have a name? I need to address you somehow."
Now the girl was deep in thought. She didn't seem to understand her previously when she literally shocked her, but still understood basic human interaction to some degree.
"A na-me. Do you understand?"
Her face still showed confusion, but her lips finally began to move.
"Be...Be…"
The girl's voice came out coarse like she hadn't drunk anything for days. She was especially hard to hear as she still had her face turned towards the floor.
"Bel.. la."
Weiss nodded at the answer and the now named Bella seemed to notice as she lifted her head off the floor and onto her.
"Good, you can get up now. You're starting to make a fool out of yourself."
She flicked her fingers upwards and Bella followed suit. Weiss did notice that Bella still shook as she stood up, but for the most part, seemed to have recovered.
And now that the immediate problem was solved, Weiss had time to think about finer details, like that, yes, she had summoned a humanoid. She had of course never heard of something like this happening with The Summoning Glyph. That meant she was the only one in The Schnee family capable of doing so, or she was the first one to try.
Bella looked quite weak at first, but the shock that came from her wings had already shown that if she wanted to kill someone, she could very well do so. The only problem Weiss could see moving forward was Bella's… mental health.
The girl now looked complaisant about to situation and was at the moment standing next to her looking curiously around the garden. But there were clearly some problems. Maybe trauma, but wasn't she just summoned? The Summons were supposed to be constructs of their Summoners Aura. It was likely why this had never happened before, or shouldn't have happened in her case either.
The fact that Bella had a consciousness and even knew her own name indicated that she had existed before, or perhaps she was based on her mind, mirroring certain elements of it.
But she didn't have anything concrete yet, so all theorizing was only conjecture.
Weiss glanced back at Bella who was still mesmerized by the environment. I still don't know what to do with her
She figured letting her dissipate naturally would be a good choice, but who knows how a Summon like her would react to that. She could already imagine the horrified face she'd make as her body began to disappear. Especially with her clingy attitude.
Okay… that's a no. But what else can I do? Only other idea I have is to bring her back inside…
Bringing her wouldn't be a problem. She'd just have to sneak her back to her room and be done with it.
"Hey," Bella snapped out of trance and turned to Weiss "follow me."
Her Summon was glad to do so, following right behind Weiss as they walked over to the side entrance.
