After Matt went to school the next day Vicki's body went through violent shocks as it tries to get rid her of the poison, or what she's sure is poison out of herbody.

Being careful to drink lots of water to help keep herself hydrated she lays in bed trying to fight the urge to use something. Taking a deep breath she breathes through her nose.

"Oh god damnit, this sucks ass." She mutters to herself as she lets out a pained groan.

Getting up and going to the kitchen she sees a crow by the window. She notices it watching her when she frowns at it. Tilting her head to the side and walking closer she sits by the window and gives it a weak smile.

"You're a nice looking crow." Vicki says with a small sigh. "Detoxing sucks soo bad man. You, are so lucky that you are a bird."

Said crow caws back at her in response and flaps its wings twice before flying away. Vicki Donovan grabs a can of chicken noodle soup out of the pantry and begins making herself lunch. After it's done she sits down at the table and slowly eats, the food warming her shivering body. Once that is done Vicki gathers up a blanket and lays on the couch tiredly, unable to stop the shivers.

When Matt got home from school he found his big sister laying on the couch, sweat rolling off of her body while she detox's. Rushing to the kitchen he grabs a rag and wets it with slightly warm water. Sitting beside her he puts it gently on her forehead causing her to jolt a little in surprise.

Her eyes were glossy and her mind was somewhat delirious as she looks at her brother. "Matty? Shouldn't you be at school?" She asks as her eyes pull shut for a moment.

Smiling softly he shakes his head. "Schools out now Vick - I'm supposed to meet Tyler at the Grill but, you're more important."

"Aww" she replies with a gentle coo. "My baby brother loves me."

He chuckles quietly then. "Of course, you're my big sister. Do you need anything?"

"Stay out of the woods." Vicki says with a whisper as her glossy eyes look at him. "It's not safe. No bonfire tonight. Bad."

Matt frowns at her and sighs softly. "Vicki-"

"Please?" She whispers to him then as a wave of panic hits her. "Stay home, please, please Matty?"

Letting out a soft sigh he nods his head, albeit reluctantly. "Okay. I'm going to have to call Tyler and let him know that I won't be there .. he's been wanting to see you."

Vicki smiles sadly and shakes her head, whispered words escape her lips. "I'm just another body to him Matty.. I - I'm .. I'm easy for him. I - just - I, tell him no for me, okay?"

His eyes sadden to hear his sisters words but he nods and pats her hand softly as he stands up. "Alright, I'll tell him that I'm going to stay home with you and that he can't come over."

"Thank you, Matty. You're the best little brother ever." She mumbles into the pillow on the couch as she snuggles into it.

Matt snorts and shakes his head. "I'm your only little brother."

"That we know of." She mumbles under her breathe as she drifts off to sleep with a small sigh of contentment.

Walking to his room so that he doesn't disturb his sleeping sister he dials Tyler.

It wasn't long before Tyler picked up and asked abruptly "Hey man. Are you coming or what?"

"Hey- not, she- Vicki is detoxing right now Tyler and she asked for me to stay home with her. She did tell me to warn you not to go walking in the woods though. Something about it not being safe.."

"Fine, I'll be right over."

"You can't. She also asked not to see you. She -"

"She what Matt?" Tyler asks him in annoyance on the other line. "She's my girlfriend-"

"Tyler," Matt says with a sigh as he glances around and then continues in a whisper. "She thinks that you're using her - she doesn't want to be used."

"What?" Tyler says with an offended scuff. "How can she-"

"I don't know man." Matt says, interrupting him before sighing. "Vicki is - she's trying to get better Tyler and if you won't help her when she's ready to see you then just- just leave her alone okay?"

He hears Tyler's irritated sigh on the line and then he mutters. "Fine man, whatever. Just keep me updated. I'm going to the falls for the party."

"Stay outta the woods." Matt echos her warning without thinking.

Tyler lets out a sigh "Why? It's practically in the woods man."

"Vicki said too, it just slipped out I guess." Matt admits awkwardly.

"Hm. So, I gotta go now, bye man."

"Yeah, bye." He mutters as he walks out of the room to check on her again.

She lays on the couch and a glass of water sits on the side table now. "I probably have two more days of this shit Matty. Then it'll be random and I'm going to have to really fight the urge . . I hate it."

"I know." He mutters as he sits on the floor beside the couch, giving his sister a crooked smile. "But I am so proud of you Vicki. I know you can do this!"

A small smile flickers across her face at her brothers words. Grabbing his hand she lets out a sigh and groans as a wave of nausea passes through her. Oh she hates this. Who in their fucking mind would send her back to put up with this shit?

The next day when Matt went to school he found out that one of the kids in their class got attacked in the woods causing him to freeze in his tracks for a moment. How could she have known? He glances around he sees Tyler frowning too as if he's thinking about something strongly. Walking over to his friend they stand beside each other.

It takes awhile before Tyler acknowledges him. Letting out a sigh Tyler looks at him, his eyebrows frowned in frustration. "Do you think Vicki knows who did it?"

Matt sighs and shifts his backpack, ignoring the curious look from the new guy in their class. "I don't know. I just know that she didn't want me to go and if I did she told me to stay out of the woods entirely."

Stefan frowns deeply after he hears that, how would she know. That he remembers the Donovan's isn't exactly an important family in the town.

"Are you coming to see the comet pass over tomorrow?" Tyler asks him after a few moments of quiet.

"Probably not." Matt admits with a shrug, "Vicki needs me right now. The only reason why I'm not staying home is because she won't let me."

Tyler smiles a little, a small twist of his mouth "Yeah, your sister is a bit of a spit fire."

"Shut up Tyler." Matt says with a flare of protectiveness. "She's my sister."

While fighting back a grin Tyler puts his hands up in surrender. "Whatever man. I like her so.."

"Or you're using her." Matt mutters, unfortunately it was loud enough for Tyler to hear him.

He grits his teeth and glares at his friend. "I am not using her. I care about her too."

Okay, maybe he was, or he wasn't? He knows that he likes her a lot still but- with her not using, will she even want him anymore? Maybe if she actually stops he could bring her to meet his parents. If she'll see him. Ugh, he can't be like this over a girl.

"Matt." Jeremy says as he walks over, ignoring Tyler completely. "Where's Vicki? Is she okay?"

"Go away." Tyler snaps out in annoyance at the younger Gilbert.

"She's detoxing." Matt says stoically as he sees his ex's little brother.

Jeremy looks at the ground with a frown "is she going to be okay?"

Matt and Tyler glance at each other but don't respond. He had told Tyler about how her body was reacting to the detox. She's being strong but it's hard for her. He just hopes that she won't back out just because it's a bit tough.

"Only time will tell." Matt says as the bell rings for first hour.

When classes ended and he arrived home he found Vicki snuggled into bed, sweat still pouring from her body as it shakes. Noticing that her cup of water is empty he goes to the kitchen to fill it back up. Sitting it down on the stand beside her bed he notices a notebook of hers and frowns slightly.

Picking it up he frowns at the first page.

What I remember from the first time

OnSep 8th I got bit by Damon.

On Sep 9th Stefan compelled me to forget but did poorly. I vaguely remembered.

Sep 10th, Damon attacked me because I recognized him.

I need vervain and other forms of protection.

Do not trust the Salvatore's.Would it be safe to work with the Mikaelson's? I need to plan more. Preferably when I don't feel like complete shit.

With a sigh he sets the notebook down how it was and frowns at his sister. Something is different, he noticed that on the first day. But, he doesn't know exactly why. Those notes of hers.. and who are the Mikaelson's?

He wonders if perhaps she's just a little bit delusional. After she's done detoxing he'll ask her about it.

The next day Matt couldn't help but feel more cautious whenever he saw the new kid. The same new kid who seems to have a thing for his ex girlfriend, which in light of his sister's situation he's intent on moving on.

But, the new kid seemed to be watching him with a frown as if trying to figure something out. Stefan makes his way towards Matt looking determined.

"Hi." He greets.

Matt frowns at him in confusion. "Hey."

"I heard that your sister is- uh."

"She's none of your business." Tyler says from behind Stefan with a frown.

Matt nods in agreement. "You don't even know her."

"Well, I have experience with - detoxing and I could.."

"No." Matt says with a shake of his head, his eyes narrowed in suspicion especially because of his sisters notes. "I'll make sure she's fine."

With a sigh Stefan looks between them both and then nods sharply before turning away. They glance at each other and shrug.

"Did you want to see her today?" Matt asks Tyler.

"Would she be okay with that?" He asks a little hesitantly, feeling unsure for the first time when thinking of Vicki.

Honestly, he hasn't been treating her the best. To hear of her detoxing and it hurting her.. it makes him concerned for her.

"I don't know honestly." Matt admits. "But, she can kick you out if she wants too. Will you be watching the comet?"

"No. Not if she lets me see her. Did you want me to bring anything?" He asks his friend curiously.

"Just don't bring any drugs or alcohol."

Tyler nods in understanding. "Okay."

That night after school Matt gets home and unlocks the door. Tyler walks in behind him to see Vicki at the table with her head down looking better then she had in the last few days.

"Matty?" She whispers as she tilts her head up. Blinking her eyes find her brother and a small smile forms. "How was School?"

"Okay. Stefan tried to invite himself over."

Her eyes narrow, in the way they do when someone she dislikes is mentioned. Something that doesn't go unnoticed by either of them. "You said no right?"

"We both told him no actually." Tyler says from behind Matt.

Vicki didn't notice him at first, not with him being shorter then her brother. "Why are you here?"

"I" Tyler starts, glancing at Matt a moment before continuing. "I wanted to check up on you."

Vicki snorts and shakes her head. "I'm not going to do any drugs and I'm not going to drink with you."

A smirk twists on his face a little. "That's good then. Otherwise Matt would kick me out."

"I would kick you out." She adds flatly as she looks at him with a frown of confusion before shrugging it off.

The thing is, she can't get too distracted. She needs to get prepared, she has vervain on the way and she needs to make stakes and get everything ready to invoke the gods and goddesses. Specifically Frigga and perhaps Hecate as well.
