A Hellish Forever
Ch.2: Ladies and Gentlemen
The next few minutes had been a blur for Lincoln. A Black Limo seconds after Vaggie had finished her call came careening down the street, stopping right beside Vaggie. Lincoln had jumped back as the Limo had come close.
Vaggie shook her head as the passenger window went down. A face not unlike Harley Quinn, save Blonde hair peered her head out. She looked to be 19.
"Hey Vaggie! What did you need to show me?" She then looked to Lincoln and frowned. "Oh...new arrival?" Vaggie nodded and turned to Lincoln, who had edged back to the wall behind him, shivering in fear. She understood completely. New to Hell. Poor boy!
Vaggie walked over to Lincoln and got eye level. "Kid. I forgot to ask. What's your name?"
"L-Lincoln", he got out.
"Well Lincoln, you don't have to be scared, okay? We won't let anything happen to you."
"How...how can I trust you?", the timid boy questioned.
"Well, you can't", Vaggie sighed, knowing it would take time for him to trust her and Charlie. "But you don't want to be alone, do you?"
Lincoln nodded, finally looking Vaggie in the eye. His eyes had been downcast before. Vaggie took his hand and led him to the Limo. Charlie scooted over to make room after opening the door. Lincoln would find a spacious limo.
"If its more comfortable, you can sit on the other side", Charlie offered. Lincoln nodded and sat across from them. Vaggie shut the door and the Limo started off again.
For them all, they remained silent, a mix of emotions in each of them. After about 5 minutes, Charlie spoke.
"So, Lincoln. How old are you?", she inquired, after Vaggie had told her his name.
He looked at Charlie, thinking. He truly needed to keep his guard up, but it was a good question. Maybe they intended to put him in school or something?
"12", he finally responded.
The two demons looked at each other, shocked. In Hell, no one below the age of 13 ended up there under any circumstances. It was believed that any bad things they did was a moment of "They did not know better." Charlie made a mental note to call her Father soon.
As the ride went on, Charlie explained where they were going- Hazbin Hotel. It was a hotel created with the goal of rehabilitating demons so they could go to Heaven. Lincoln was intrigued by the idea.
"When did you come up with it?", he asked Charlie. Vaggie was texting someone.
"Mmmm...3 years ago. It's been open for 6 months", she explained.
Suddenly, the Limo jerked to a stop. Lincoln yelped as he fell face first onto the car floor below him. Reaching out, Charlie grabbed him and pulled him up with a swift movement.
"Thanks", Lincoln said relieved.
Charlie nodded, looking outside. They had arrived.
To Lincoln, the hotel was ominous and intimidating, like a baby viewing a car for the first time. He had every want to flight and run. A hand suddenly took his. He looked to see Charlie smiling down at him.
Lincoln took a moment to collect himself. Charlie and Vaggie had been nothing but nice. But were they lulling him in? He did not know. Taking a deep breath, he decided he needed to at least repay their kindness. With that decided, he allowed Charlie to lead him in.
The lobby itself was large. Wide ceilings and somewhat dark. A 17-year-old looking female demon soon looked at Lincoln, having been wiping down a coffee table, and bounded over to him.
"Hi! Its really nice to meet you!", she greeted. She had one eye and was curvy. If one is to judge Lincolns blush, he certainly noticed. The demon giggled and hugged him. "My names Nifty! Oh boy! Its awesome to finally have a boy here! I'll go get a room ready!", she cheered, running upstairs.
Lincoln opened his mouth, but no words came out. What could he say? Vaggie simply chuckled and patted Lincoln's back. "She's boy crazy", she explained.
Needing a minute, Lincoln went to sit on the blue leather couch by the fireplace. From there, looking left, the doors were there. To his right was the hotels bar. And dead ahead were the stairs.
Behind the bar, an older looking demon with a top hat replaced the bars ice. He had a permanent frown on his face. He saw the young man and simply nodded to himself. It was not his business.
For his part, Lincoln felt bad for the demon. Weird yes. A human feeling pity for a demon. But Lincoln had dealt with a varying degree of personalities in his life. He knew depression when he saw it.
Lincoln was not given much time to dwell on this as the entrance doors opened with a flourish. Standing there was a demon holding a walking stick with a seemingly alive eye on top. He was ruby red and wore an eye glass upon his left eye.
"How does the Hotel find itself today?", he greeted. The bar demon sighed. "You always have to make an entrance, huh?", he commented.
"Oh Husker, of course I do!", he hummed as he observed his surroundings. Charlie was heading for her office adjacent to the bar. Vaggie had taken a seat next to Lincoln.
The demon was intrigued. Why was the young boy in Hell? Murder? Depravity? If it was lynching or abuse, so help him...
Lincoln for his part had tried to make himself more one with the couch. He had come close to wetting himself. The demons permanent smile creeped him out.
It was here that Alastor stopped. There was something he had been told earlier that day. It was important. What was it? He simply shrugged. No use worrying.
"Nice to meet you, young man", he smiled, before heading into Charlie's office. Vaggie sighed and slumped in her seat, crossing her arms.
"I don't like him", she muttered. Lincoln decided not to press.
After a few, Alastor came out and sat in a nearby lazy chair. He said nothing, which was scarier in Lincolns view. Vaggie then spoke.
"I guess I should introduce you. Alastor, this is Lincoln", she said.
Lincoln looked at the demon. Alastor nodded at him, the smile unfading. It was not just scary, but awkward.
"N-nice to meet you", Lincoln whispered.
"Well of course everyone likes to meet me", a voice said, as a figure sat next to Vaggie. Vaggie just shook her head, used to his antics. The demon was a spider demon.
For his end, Lincoln was beginning to wonder how many demons he would meet. The spider looked at him. A question hit him. "Ehhhh Vaggie? How old is he?"
Vaggie said "12. Don't you try anything", she spat, before heading into the office. Angel grinned. "Going to kiss your girlfriend?", he smirked. Vaggie gave him a single finger salute before leaving the scene.
"Sheesh. She must be in a mood", he commented, before turning to Lincoln. "12? 12..", he said before his eyes widened akin to saucers. "Say Kid. How did you die?", he asked.
This was important for 2 reasons. For Angel, he knew about the age thing when it came to Heaven. For Lincoln… Could he open himself up to this effeminate fellow?
Lincoln then sighed. There was no going back. He had to make a new start, and he knew it. "Well. I was hit head on going to the park", he frowned. "I didn't feel any pain though."
Angel frowned as equally. "Any siblings?"
"10 sisters", Lincoln replied. "Whoa", Alastor said, intrigued.
"Still kid...you must have some sorta sin if you're here", Husker piped up.
"Well...that's disappointing if its small. Like you are in a way", Angel grinned. Husker growled and muttered to himself.
Everyone then heard footsteps as Nifty bounded downstairs and ran to Lincoln. With a start, she lifted him against his will and ran him upstairs.
Laughing, Alastor stood. "Well, I'm starved! Who wants Jambalaya?"
Indeed, the group did not have the Southern meal. They had Spaghetti, made by Charlie.
At 11 that night, even in his cozy Nifty- made bed, Lincoln could not sleep. His family was there in his heart, and he could not shake them away. He knew he needed to be strong. But could he? Could he hit a home run in this stormy sea?
He got up, quietly making his way downstairs. Maybe he could sleep by the fireplace.
He was surprised to see Angel and Alastor sitting there, chatting. Angel looked as if he had been crying. Sniffing, he turned to the boy and patted the spot next to him. "Couldn't sleep huh?" Lincoln nodded.
"Same here. Alastor here does not sleep, and he was down to talk. I... ya in the mood to hear a tough story?"
Lincoln quickly nodded. If he were to trust the demons, he would need to know them…
