Ghost's consciousness stirred as it tried to come to grasp at its new body so his thought-to-be final moments flowed.
Algolis, Cole Protocol, Demolition Squad, Prototype Suit, Evacuate, Covenant Invasion...
Covenant invasion... Covenant Invasion!
Memories of the day he became Ghost rushed his semi-conscious mind. Watching Smith's head taken off by a beam rifle, squads 2 and 3 eviscerated by plasma grenades then 1 and 4 held out but died from their wounds. The systematic downfall of his platoon was brutal and efficient. No survivors.
Except him.
He remembers the final casualty of that day she asked him what did his call sign mean and to be human.
She should've survived.
The suit stood.
The HUD lit up in his head.
Energy: Green
Ammo: Green
Shields: Green
Hull: Orange: Left-arm destroyed
User: ERROR NO OCCUPANT DETECTED
He didn't pay attention to the statistics as he looked around, the moon shone on him in the dark green forest.
His vision flickered, the black beasts were replaced with covenant infantry grunts, jackals, elites, brutes, hunters all surrounding him.
He turns and sees a pod, honeybee drone, and three marines.
"Hold here" he commands "I'll deal with the covenant."
The three fighters look at one another and the mech in confusion before several vents open up on it and it thrusts forward.
Ghost raised the Lucifer Gatling gun and fired shredding the beowolves in front of him with a burst. He then aimed the Magellan Recoilless rifle and fired several shells which vaporized ursas. The LAU missile pods opened up and launched at blistering speeds that blew away even the most armored boarbatusks before they got the chance to charge. He then pursued them as they began to regroup his armaments turning them to dust before they even disintegrated.
As the Grimm swarmed him and explosions sounded off in the distance the three fighters got back into position. The woman looked to see the silver orb staring intently at her, she stared back and asked "What?"
It tilted to the side "I am merely surprised at this type of ocular magic, from what I can tell it only works against the fodder, curious."
All three fighters whipped their heads at the orb their suspicions growing so the larger man asked "And what would you know about them?" He asked, and thought to himself that if the orb knew more perhaps it could be of use to his leader.
"That the light paragon has infused his magic on a genetic level, a recessive gene it seems. Your offspring is lucky to have inherited this trait."
This caused the woman to reel in horror as this information was revealed so casually, and the men to gain a dangerous glint in their eyes.
The smaller man started to cackle "Well well it seems we would've missed one wouldn't we-" he was cut off as an oppressive feeling tore through his soul expecting obedience. He looked around for the cause only to see that he, his partner, and the woman were forced to take a sitting position.
"It seems I must update my clearance with 831, it has been long hasn't it."
Two more golden flashes with two more silver orbs using the chassis appeared. One with a golden eye and the other a purple eye.
He looked at the gold one "831" and the purple one "833" he greeted.
831 spoke first as it looked at the straining faces of the fighters "832, I was wondering who was using the teleportation grid, you neglected to use your codes."
833 spoke up looking at Ghost tearing through the beast with ease "As well as this armor system, none of the subjects have been able to construct this kind of technology yet?"
832 spoke in an excited tone "This is our solution to this perpetual experiment. The final solution was a success may I introduce a reclaimer!" He directed them to the stasis pod.
Both orbs floated still for a moment before flying at the silver pod and began scanning and then seizing up again and turned to 832.
"By the makers it's true. They possess all the genetic markers. We would've known if they were born on this world." 831 spoke in awe.
"Indeed but more importantly what happened to them? Their body is severely damaged, and would fail if taken out of the pod." 833 interrogated.
"I will share what I have learned of the reclaimers thus far." 832 answered.
It took seconds for the data to be transferred between them and both monitor's eyes turned red with rage.
833 yelled out "Those fools! They attack their betters over some misconception!"
831 turned to 832 "You were right to bring him here, the medical facilities would be able to save him in an instant."
More explosions sounded off in the distance and the groans of the fighters trying to break free of their compulsion attracted the monitor's attention.
"831 could you please tell me the identities of these three." 832 asked.
"Of course the human female is Summer Rose, the Faunus male is Tyrian Callows and the human male is Hazel Reinhart." 831 listed.
The people all looked at the monitors concern etched on their faces as they couldn't move and their identities revealed.
Summer was terrified of these beings how they appeared how '832' listed the details of her silver eyes, her daughter's existence, and how she has silver eyes as well, but they also knew her and her enemies' names with ease.
Hazel and Tyrian realized they were compromised and tried even harder to break free of their compulsion.
Soon enough the sounds of fighting stopped as the mech slowly stomped back towards the spot he started. But 832 floated in front of him and said "You shouldn't be awake the mental link is incomplete. It would be best to rest now until your mental strain is lessened." the monitor noted.
Ghost felt the urge to protest until his mind returned to his body in the stasis and he slept. The suit stiffened and lowered into its standby position. The hatch on its back opened to let someone out but nobody exited.
The monitor then turned back to their captives and asked "What is the protocol for dealing with subjects who discover forerunner technology?"
"Protocol dictates partial memory wipe and relocation to the nearest medical center." 833 lists.
The captives started to lose consciousness as fear spread through their bodies the last thing they saw was a purple golden and grey light.
