FITTING IN

San Francisco

It was a dark and cold night in the City by the Bay. Business was booming, people were roaming and traffic was really busy. So it was a typical night in San Francisco. However, little did the residents of the city know that this was a night that would change their world forever.

In the outskirts of the city, the same blue and white portal appeared and out stepped our hero. As soon as he was through, the portal disappeared.

Ben looked around and noticed he was all alone and it was dark out. He turned around and tried to get a lay of the land and one thing got him curious.

"Where's my car?" he asked outloud.

He then shrugged and started walking towards a cliff. When he came to the edge, he was able to see the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay below it. That meant that he was in...

'San Francisco? Huh, I guess this universe isn't entirely different,' he thought.

He thought about going Jetray and fly around to get a good bearing of his location but he pushed that thought aside. This was a new universe, so he didn't want to attract any unwanted attention. So he opted to walk.

Before he could even take the first step, sparks started to form into a circle beneath him. The circle swirled around him and seemed to be growing in diametre.

"What the..."

Before he could finish his sentence, a portal appeared beneath him and the next thing he knew was that he was falling. The portal shut itself, leaving the place as quiet as before.

Ben woke up with a groan. He remembered arriving in the new universe, a sparky portal opening up behind him and then falling. After a few seconds, he landed. Hard! Then he blacked out.

He felt what he was lying on and it seemed to be a wooden floor. He squinted his eyes open. There was some dim light that illuminated the room. He then groggily stood up. When he regained his bearings he noticed he was in a Japanese styled room. He looked around the room. He was alone.

"Hello?"

No answer. He then decided to explore the room. He saw the shelf to the sidewhich was filled with well arranged scrolls. They seemed old. He also saw the neatly arranged weapons on all the walls of the room. Then something caught his eye.

At the centre of the room was a large , black painted gargoyle carved desk. He walked towards it and noticed the pedestal at the table's centre. On it, sat an ancient looking pendant. It was eye shaped and was giving off a powerful aura. He reached up to touch it, but before he could...

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," said a female voice.

This startled Ben who whipped around to see where it came from. He saw a Caucasian woman of average height and Cerulean eyes. She was clad in yellow and brown robes but her most noticeable feature was her bald head.

"Those who play with the eye of Agamoto usually don't live to tell the tale," she said.

She stalked towards him. She too had a powerful aura around her that was an indication she wasn't someone to triffle with. She was about five feet away from him and she gave him a once over. After a moment she finally spoke.

"Its nice to finally meet you Ben Tennyson," she said.

This brought Ben out his stupour.

"Wait, you know who I am?" he asked.

She nodded. She started to circle him as she spoke. Ben did not take his eyes off of her.

"Paradox speaks fondly of you. Although, from the stories I've heard, I pictured you taller."

After a short pause.

"With more muscles."

"Who are you?"

"I am the guardian of this dimension, the Mistress of the Mystic Arts, The Sorceror Supreme. I am...the Ancient One."

The next thing Ben knows is that he is in the lotus position, sitting on a cushion in front of a Chinese tea set. The Ancient One was pouring two cups of tea. She strirred the tea and handed him a cup. Ben shrugged and accepted it. They raised their cups in a toast of good health and they both took a sip and placed them back down.

"So, Ben, tell me. Why are you here?" she asked.

"Paradox didn't tell you?" he asked.

"You know him, always cryptic in his speeches and warnings," she responded.

"Well, I'm here on a mission. Before sending me here, he told that ther's this intergalactic tyrannt who calls himself the Mad Titan. His name is Thanos," Ben started to explain.

"What is this 'Thanos' up to?"

"Something horrible. He's planning...to kill half the universe..."

The Ancient One's eyes widened in shock.

"What? That's...that's absurd...preposterous. How does he even plan to do that?"

"Paradox told me that there some artifacts in this universe that can do that. Once he get's them he'll destroy half of living beings in this universe." he said grimly.

"Which artifacts are those?"

"I don't know if I can tell you,"

"Why not?" she asked.

"Because I just met you. I don't know if I can trust you."

"But I am a friend of Paradox. Do you really think the Time walker would associate himself with someone he doesn't trust?"

"I guess not," Ben said under his breathe.

"Besides, I am a sorceress. I can force it out of you if you wish," she joked.

Ben let out a nervous chuckle.

"No thanks. I don't think that would be necessary."

"Well, those artifacts are called the Infinity Stones..."

The Ancient One almost did a spit take.

"What did you say?" it was almost a whisper.

Taken aback by her reaction, he said it again.

"I said he's after the Infinity Stones...wait...do you know what they are?"

"I don't just know them, I am the Guardian of one of them. I am the Keeper of the Time Stone."

'It can't be a coincidence that the first person I met in this universe knows about them,' Ben thought. 'This has to be Paradox.'

"Okay, can you tell me where it is,"

'He doesn't know,' thought the Ancient one.

"I am afraid I cannot disclose such information to you."

Ben frowned at this.

"Please, if you tell me where it is I can keep it safe. That way if Thanos comes for it, he'll have to go through me. And trust me, it's not easy to go through me." he said with a hint of a smirk on his face.

"I assure you Ben, where it is, it is completely safe. Besides, the less the number of people that know its location, the better."

"I guess that kinda makes sense..."

Then an idea came to the Ancient one.

"However, Paradox is a good friend of mine, and he seems to put a great deal of trust in you, so I can give you the benefit of the doubt. I will explain to you as much as I can about the Infinity Stones."

"Really? Sweet! That'd be great," said Ben.

"There is a catch. You can't tell anyone what I am about to tell you. Many people out there, not just on Earth, but the stars above us, believe that the Infinity Stones are only a myth, a rumour. It will be catastrophy if people catch a whiff that they are real. Or worse, one is right here on Earth."

That made perfect sense to Ben, since he remembers that Aggregor was after pieces of the Infinity Map and even though they were able to stop him, it's apparent that he wouldn't have come so close to victory if the circle of trust was smaller. A lot of people knew the location of the Infinity Map pieces.

"Okay."

The Ancient one then stood up and proceeded out of the room. Ben followed. They came to stair case and began their trek up the stairs. Eventually they came to a door that led to the roof of the building. Ben looked at his surroundings and noticed something was definitely off. He was in New York!

'Magic.' Ben thought. He tried not to think too much about it.

"At the dawn of the Universe there was nothing," she started, calling Ben's full attention.

Then she lifted up her right hand with three outheld fingers. At once an image of an explosion formed in front of her. The image had shown a galaxy of stars but one thing stood out, there were six differently coloured stones that formed into circle.

"The Big Bang sent six Elemental Crystals hurtling across the virgin universe. Each Infinity Stone controls an essential aspect of existence."

Then each of the crystals began to glow brighter, one after another. First was the blue one, the crimson one, the purple one, the orange one, the yellow one and finally the green one.

"Space, Reality, Power, Soul, Mind and Time."

Ben was in awe that such tiny artifacts could have such unfathomable power. He turned to the Ancient One.

"Which one do you have?" he asked.

She looked ready to protest telling him but Ben cut her off.

"Look, you don't have to tell me where it is, but it could really help keeping track of where which stone is. Just in case, worse comes to worst and Thanos actually gets the rest."

Ancient One contemplated Ben's reasoning and found that there was some sense to it.

"I have the Time Stone,"

"Okay, mind telling me why you have to guard it so bad? You know, besides the obvious threat being Thanos," Ben said.

This was because he was just told that very few people knew of its existence, let alone its location. So, why guard something that nobody knows is there?

"The Time Stone is our chief weapon against the forces of darkness. Without it, the darkness would run unchecked, our world would be over run and millions would suffer. Therefore, not only is it imparative to keep the mind stone a secret to those who may seek its power, it's also a trump card against our enemies."

"Well, when you put it like that, I believe it's safest where it is," Ben said.

A portal opened up in an alley way and both Ben and the Ancient one stepped out. The portal remained open. They then faced each other.

"You really don't have the location of the other stones?" he asked. She shook her head.

"I'm afraid not, some of them are out of my reach, hence cannot find them. But fear not, Ben. I have full confidence you will find them before Thanos does."

She then stepped back into the portal and it started closing.

"And Ben,"

This caused him to look back at her.

"I'm counting on you. We all are." she said as the portal closed.

Ben's grip on his bag's sling tightened as he looked to the empty space where the portal just was. He walked out of the alley and stepped onto a busy side walk. He looked around. Yep, he was back in San Francisco.

He then picked a random direction and started walking. After a few minutes of walking, he came across a coffee shop and luckily, it had free Wi-Fi. He walked in with a grin.

Soon Ben was sipping on a Latte and was browsing through the net.

"Thank goodness currency is the same in this Universe," he said under his breathe.

Right now, he was on Google and was doing some research on the passed events of this Earth. When he searched about heroes of this world, one thing always seemed to pop up.

'The Avengers'

So he decided to check them out. He typed it into the search box and several sites loaded onto the screen. However, one of them really peaked his interest. It read 'The Incident'. It had multiple pics and clips of New York, looking like a war zone. It also had a written article.

Apparently, the god of mischief, Loki, had opened a giant wormhole in the sky and aliens started invading the Earth. However, they were stopped and Loki's plan was thwarted by a group of extra ordinary individuals known as the Avengers. As he scrolled down, he found a link to the Avengers' bio profile.

He first clicked on the one that said Ironman.

Finally, he came across a blonde muscular, handsome man named Thor.

Alias; The god of Thunder

Occupation; N/A

Origin;...

Ben didn't have to read the origin since he was already well versed with Norse Mythology. After going through a few more articles about them, he decided to start working on his new identity in this new world.

According to the National Security Data Base, his name was Benjamin Kirby Tennyson, orphan kid raised in a foster home. He went to Mid-Town High in Queens, graduated and attended MIT where he graduated with a Diploma in Bio-Mechanical Engineering.

He then created an E-mail address and bank accounts.

'Thank you Blukic and Driba,' he thought as he remebered the two most idiotic but funniest Galvans teaching him how to hack, to the point that he was now nearly an expert.

Once he was done, he shut down the laptop and stuffed it into his bag. He got up and left the Coffee Shop.

The next day, Ben was roaming the city, looking for ways to make a quick buck. He considered applying for a job but that plan was immediately thrown out of the window since he didn't have the proper credentials.

As he was walking, he came across a Smoothie shop which had a 'HELP NEEDED' sign on the window. Ben didn't question his stroke of luck and he went right in. Eventually he landed the job as cashier which paid $ 4 an hour and got to work. After his shift was done, he got his pay for the day. However, he still needed more cash.

He looked up and noticed a pawn shop right across the street. A grin graced his lips and he made his way to an alley. After he made sure the coast was clear, he sent a thought to the Omnitrixies strapped to his arms.

At once, Ben was engulfed in a blinding Emrald green light. When it died down, in his place stood a large teal green crystalline humanoid. His arms were large and bulky, forming the shape of imposing muscles. His jaw was hardset and thick. The back of his head converged to form some sort of horn like structure and his eyes were two lime-green crystals. He was clad in a black skin tight body suit. The Omnitrix logo rested on his chest.

"DIAMOND HEAD!" Ben exclaimed.

He then morphed his right arm into a spiked turret and aimed for the ground. He let loose a few shards which were embedded into the ground. He then raised his right hand and slapped the Omnitrix symbol and once again was engulfed in the blinding light again. Ben was back to his human form.

He pulled out the shards and made his way to the pawn shop. When he walked out, he did so with around $ 60,000 in his bagpack. He still had some left over shards which he was saving for later.

Ben was now in his new apartment and was sipping on a Pineapple Flavored smoothie. He then took out his phone and scrolloed through his gallery. He stopped at a pic of him, Gwen, Kevin, Grandpa Max and Kai in front of the Rust Bucket VII. They were all laughing in the picture because the Rust Bucket broke down again. He sighed. He missed them, all of them. He didn't get the chance to tell them goodbye. If he failed in his mission, he never will.

'No! I can't think like that. I have to succeed in this mission. For them. For half of all life.

Somewhere in the deep reaches of space, there was an asteroid belt floating aimlessly. Then a huge ominous looking ship passed by. Within the ship was a dark and empty room which was only occupied by lage floating chair. This was the ship's throne room. Next to the throne was a fierce looking individual. She was clad in gold grey and black body armour. She carried with her a golden mighty spear and her raven black hair hang loosely on her back. Her most noticeable feature was her deep blue skin. This was Proxima Midnight.

She tredded carefully as she approached the throne and bowed in both fear and respect to he who sat on the tthrone. This figure was 12 feet tall, had the build of an Olympian Gladiator and was clad in black and gold body armour. He also had purple skin pigmentation. He had a dangerous aura around him that sent chills down one's spine. This was the Mad Titan, Thanos. He gave his subject the signal to rise.

Proxima stood and took out a hologram projecting device. The Hologram came to life and displayed an image of the milky way galaxy. It then zoomed in to show an image of Earth, San Francisco, U.S.A to be exact.

"My lord, we have traced the source of the Tachyon Influx to this planet, Earth. We have also used the device the timewalker Eon gave us. We found a signal that is not of this Universe's origin. The One whom Eon warned us about...is here," she said grimmly.

There was dead silence in the room and after a few moments, the Mad Titan huffed.

"So..." he spoke in a low voice, "the legendary Ben Ten is here...hmm...he has no idea what he is up against this time...No idea at all."

A/N: Hello people. I am back! Its been a while and I'm sorry I kept you waiting for so long. However, I appreciate the feedback you people are giving me. I welcome all reviews. Good and bad. Like that one guy who pointed put my grammatical errors. And I like the idea of introducing the other Ben 10,000 Omnitrix. The one thats on his chest and doesn't have to transform to have he's powers. I just might add it into the mix, but you'll have to read to find out how.
