Chapter 2

When Olivia woke up she immediately checked on Ana. She was still fast asleep. She made herself some coffee and a grocery list. Having a kid in the house was different. Her phone went off and she grabbed it thinking it was Carla. "Ohhh hey Alex." She kept writing, "Hey Liv. Gosh what's wrong?" Olivia explained the situation and not being able to reach her sister. "Alex it's weird. If you took my kid across the country, I would call." Alex agreed, " Well I'm glad you're back. What are you two doing today. Amanda is so excited and can't wait to meet Ana. She's driving me nuts." Olivia laughed, "Amanda drives you nuts anyway." Alex had to agree, "Yeah great and we are actually putting two trouble makers together. What are we thinking?"

Olivia had an idea, "I need to go to the grocery store anyway, how about I make dinner and you guys come over." Alex asked, "How about we do brunch, go grocery shopping together, and I will help you make dinner." Olivia smiled, "That sounds perfect. Let me wake sleeping beauty." Alex shook her head, "Same! See you soon."

Olivia went into Ana's bedroom, she looked sweet and innocent. "Hey morning." Ana blinked with those big blue eyes. It was almost strange. Her eyes were so blue, but her hair was so brown. "Alex called. Amanda really wants to meet you. We decided to do brunch, grocery shopping, come back, and make dinner. Get up and shower." Ana slowly got out of bed, dragging to the bathroom.

After Olivia was done, she found Ana sitting in the family room waiting. "Aunt Liv do I have to be friends with Amanda because you're friends with Alex?" Olivia sat down, "No. I would never force you to be friends. What's wrong." Ana sighed, "I don't make friends easily. I don't make friends at all. Kids never liked me at school. And don't even get me started on the boys. Aunt Liv I'm a virgin." Olivia was shocked, "I hope so, you're only 13. If you aren't we need to have a completely different conversation." Ana shrugged, "I'm almost 14" Olivia shook her head, "Talk to me when you're 21" Ana laughed, "Aunt Liv!"

She quickly turned serious, "I thought my mom probably told you I was skipping school and sleeping around. That's what she thought." Olivia disagreed, "Ana she never said that. She did say you skipped school and she hardly knew where you were. Care to enlighten me." Ana told the truth, "I did skip all the time. She never punished me, but she always said, ummm that I…" Olivia was concerned, because her sister never told her that part, "She said what Ana?" Ana twisted her hands, "You probably won't believe me. She's your sister." Olivia turned Ana so she was looking at her, "And, you're my niece. Tell me." Ana continued, "That boys would never like a slut like me."

Olivia's heart dropped, she had no idea what her sister was thinking to talk to Ana like that. "Aunt Liv, I'm more of a nerd than a slut. Kids at my school picked on me all the time. Girls made fun of my brown hair and big blue eyes. They would throw food at me in lunch and say my eyes didn't fit my face. The boys were worse and said I had itty bitty titties and would walk up behind and pop my bra strap. That's why I skipped all the time. I used to go to the library and read."

Olivia pulled Ana in her lap, "One, you are a beautiful girl, don't ever let anyone tell you different. Two, you should have told someone." Ana looked up, "I did Aunt Liv. I told mom." Olivia was confused, "What did she say?" Ana shrugged, "That the girls were jealous and the boys liked me." Olivia looked at Ana, "That won't happen here, you tell me ok?" Ana promised she would always tell her.

They heard a funny knock on the door. "That would be Amanda. You can answer it." Ana walked nervously to the door and opened it. She saw a girl a little shorter than her with bleach blonde hair waving with excitement. Behind her was a tall slender woman with the same bleach blonde hair. She looked more serious and wore glasses. Her face relaxed with a smile seeing Ana. "Hi Ana! I'm Amanda!" Ana smiled, "Hi Amanda. Aunt Liv told me about you." Amanda laughed, "Well I'm not as bad as she said. This is my mom. You can call her Aunt Alex if it's not too weird for you." Amanda pointed to Olivia, "I call her Aunt Liv." Ana smiled, "Hi Aunt Alex. She told me about you too."

Alex hugged Ana, "I'm so happy you're here with us." Amanda clapped, "I'm so excited. I hope we're best friends." Alex whispered to Ana, "Don't let her push you and definitely don't let her get you into trouble." Amanda grabbed Ana's hand, "Show me your room!" Ana pulled back, "It's just a room. Haven't you seen it before?" Amanda spun around, "Aunt Liv really? You didn't fix up her room? What's wrong with you?" Alex looked at her, "Want to find out what's wrong with your butt?" Amanda shook her head, "No ma'am."

Olivia finally spoke up, "For the record, I left immediately to pick her up and I didn't know her favorite colors or interests. So fixing up her room is something I needed her here for. Ana, we will take care of it next weekend ok." Ana smiled, "No problem." They headed to brunch at their favorite spot. Amanda looked at the menu, "Mom I want chicken and waffles." Alex shook her head, "Yes Amanda I know." Amanda put her menu down and looked at Ana. "What do you like to eat?" Olivia explained, "She doesn't seem to like eating as much as you." Amanda looked, "The chicken and waffles are good. Try them or you can try some of mine and order something else."

Alex's jaw dropped, "Ana she never shares her food, consider yourself special." The waitress came and Ana was the last to order, "I'd the blueberry pancakes please." Amanda leaned in, "Good choice! That's my second favorite." They talked and ate. Amanda and Ana tried each other's food, "Amanda, next time I'm getting the chicken and waffles. I loved the way the syrup tasted on the chicken tenders." Amanda smiled, "I have a better idea let's get the same thing and eat off each other's plates and have the best of both worlds."

They headed to the grocery store, "Ana I made a list, but you need to pick out some snacks." They went up and down the aisles and gathered everything on the list, plus the extras. "I try to cook on the weekends to have leftovers. Work days are hard, so sometimes I have Chinese or pizza. Is there something special you like to eat? "My favorite is Mac and cheese." Amanda gave her the thumbs up, "Ok get the stuff, but we will need meat. Do you like steak?" Ana shook her head.

Tonight we are eating salmon, mixed veggies, and rice. Amanda blurted out a loud, "Yuck! Aunt Liv! It's her first dinner." Alex looked at her, "Do you even think before you speak? You're gonna get it young lady." Amanda shrugged, "Ana do you like salmon?" Ana just held her hands up, "I never had it." Amanda laughed, "It tastes like…" Olivia and Alex both cleared their throat, "It tastes like a healthy meal." The girls giggled together. When they got home, the girls tried to run, "Nope Amanda we will go home and put up groceries, then come back."

Once everything was put away, Olivia found a movie for them all. "Ana, pop two bowls of popcorn for us to enjoy. They had a relaxing afternoon. While Olivia and Alex cooked dinner the girls talked. "So Ana, explain the school situation. I want you in school with me." Ana smiled, "Well school in Seattle gets out before y'all. I just need to finish up some online work to get my final grades. There was no point in transferring yet. I just wish I could stay home. Aunt Liv says I have to go to work with her. I'm not a baby."

Amanda told her they needed to exchange numbers, "Do you have an iPhone?" Ana said yes and went to grab it. She knew it was packed in her bag. Her true colors came out when she realized it wasn't working. "What the fuck. They turned off my damn phone." Olivia and Alex ran from the kitchen to see a pissed Ana. Olivia went from shock to angry, "Ana! You will not use that language." Ana was fuming, "They sent me here without my phone." She threw herself down on the couch beside Amanda. "We will discuss this later." Ana shook her head, "No! Call them now. I will tell them to turn it on." Olivia couldn't tell her that she couldn't reach them. "Excuse us a moment."

Olivia pulled her in her room and started to pull off her belt. "Do you want me to spank you in front of them?" Ana begged her, "Ok I'm sorry." Amanda waited for them to come back. "I'm sorry Ana. Hey let me help. She took the phone and connected it to Olivia's WiFi. Now text will come in and we can still do FaceTime. When you get to Liv's job, ask for Fin." Ana scrunched up her nose, "Fin?" Amanda shook her head, "Fin is fun and the best. Trust me. Tell him to hook you up with WiFi. We can text tomorrow all day." Ana hesitated, "Wait won't you get in trouble if I text you during school?" Amanda said, "Nope. I won't have my phone out, but I will text you from my watch."

Ana smiled at first, then frowned, "Aunt Liv is going to spank me." Amanda shrugged, "Welcome to the club. Her and my mom belong to the same club. The ass beating club." They both giggled so loud, it brought Alex and Olivia out of the kitchen, this time to say, "You two set the table?" At dinner Olivia was still upset, so Ana knew she better eat her dinner. Amanda pushed the salmon around, "Amanda eat it all." Olivia noticed Ana eating, probably because she was already in trouble, "Ana do you like the salmon?" She answered, "Yes Aunt Liv it is pretty good." Alex was done, "Well we cooked you two clean."

Amanda bumped Ana, "Don't worry Ana. Even if you get a spanking, it won't be that bad. Aunt Liv is a wimp compared to my mom." Ana looked at them sitting on the couch, "When she picked me up she popped me with her belt. It scared me. My mom never disciplined me like that. So it was a shock." Olivia called in the kitchen, "Girls, quit giving each other advice. Time to go." They both laughed, "Ana were going to be good friends. Text me when it's safe and I'll see you in the morning. Ana looked confused, "They always see each other in the morning. So now I'll see you."

Everyone said goodnight, "Aunt Liv am I in trouble?" Olivia looked at her and said, "Duh!" But then she smiled, "After you take your shower come and see me." Ana did just that, "Yes Aunt Liv?" Olivia looked at her, "Do you always talk like that when you get mad?" Ana shrugged, "I guess. I just get so upset." Olivia sat beside her, "Oh! Well would you like my belt on your butt as a reminder?" Ana's eyes got wide, "No ma'am." Olivia stood up, "Come on bedtime."

Olivia got her settled, "I want to try to sleep alone." Olivia kissed and headed to the door, "I will give you and Amanda 30 minutes to text or FaceTime or whatever you kids do. I will check on you in 40 minutes and you better be asleep. Love you." Ana called Amanda, "Amanda she knew exactly what we were planning." Amanda rolled her eyes playfully, "It's the detective in her." They talked and laughed and said goodnight.

When Olivia checked on Ana she was asleep. "Goodnight sweet girl." Olivia went to call her sister. It didn't even go to voicemail. The line was disconnected. When she tried Ray it was the same thing. She knew something was very wrong. She called Trevor and they talked for over an hour. He promised to help her and look into it in the morning.
