Yes I'm behind haha.

Day 2: Warmth

As their relationship blossomed Juvia surprised Gray with her love of soft intimate moments. It should have been obvious that she would love any contact but after all of those daring and grandiose gestures, her readiness to tone it down was a pleasant surprise. At first he assumed that she was doing it for his sake, he wasn't big on public displays of affection. But absolute look of bliss on her face as they held hands under the table or when he pulled her closer to make room for others in the booth, supposedly, made him realize that this wasn't just a compromise.

This pattern continued in private as well. As she spent more time at his place he realized that her favorite thing to do was cuddling.

"This is nice," she'd say every time they were under a blanket together, on the couch together, in bed together. As their relationship developed Juvia always went back to cuddling. She'd rather spend an afternoon cuddling than making out. No one really saw that coming, not that anyone was kissing and telling.

Gray and Juvia were on the floor of Gray's apartment. Laziness had overtaken them and they had spent the past few hours under a blanket holding each other.

"I didn't take you for the type to like soft intimate moments."

It wasn't a problem today. Gray had just come back from a mission and was exhausted.

"You're so warm," Juvia answered, not exactly a direct response.

"That's not something an ice mage wants to hear."

"Gray-sama, you're not as cold as you think."

"I tried," Gray admitted, "but you wouldn't let me be the cold and lonely man I thought I was destined to be."

Juvia thought about how lonely she was growing up. She didn't consider that loneliness to be cold, but she did appreciate the warmth of another human body.

"Juvia was also alone. That's why she values these small moments together. Yes, Juvia will take anything she gets but likes this reminder that she is not alone."

Gray gave a small smile.

"Yeah, I see what you mean, feeling your warmth definitely reminds me that I am not alone."

"We are not alone."

"Right."

And the cuddling didn't stop until they woke up slightly dazed the next morning. Next time they'd cuddle on the bed.
