Eclipsa

Eclipsa loved sneaking out of her tower at night to see Globgor. It was the best part of her day, as her mother kept her busy teaching her daughter ways to kill monsters. Eclipsa wasn't like her mother. Eclipsa thought differently.

She climbed down the vines that covered the tower her bedroom was in, and she met Globgor by a bench near some roses that smelled rather lovely. Her Mom didn't know about Globgor, and Eclipsa didn't plan on telling her, as Queen Solaria was called the Monster carver for a reason. And especially since Solaria was going to introduce Eclipsa to Prince Shastacan from the spiderbite kingdom, who she was expected to marry for political reasons. Eclipsa saw Glodgor emerge from the side of the hedge.

"You're here." Eclipsa hugged the monster, who hugged her back.

"Why wouldn't i be? You're my darkest star."

"I have bad news."

"It's ok, whatever it is we can talk about it and get through it."

"Not this time."

"What could be so bad?"

"It's just that-" Eclipsa paused as she heard rustling in the bushes, and Solaria jumped out. Oh no.

Eclipsa knew Solaria would freak when she saw her with Globgor.

"You hideous monster! What are you doing with my daughter?" Solaria interrogated Globgor, shining a flashlight into his eyes.

"Queen Solaria-"

"Don't 'Queen Solaria' me! What are you doing with her?"

"Mother! Let him go." Eclipsa said, pulling her Mother off Globgor.

"Why sould I? He was going to eat you Eclipsa."

"No he wasn't, Globgor would never do something like that."

"He's the monster king, what else would he be doing to you in the middle 0f the night?"

"He's a vegetarian Mother." Solaria scoffed.

"Like I'm going to belive that. Whatever, let yourself be eaten, you have the wand, I know you can use it to defend yourself." Queen Solaria smacked Eclipsa and left her and Globgor alone.

"Fine Mother. Have it your way." The tears Eclipsa had in her eyes spilled out, and as soon as Solaria was out of earshot Globgor knelt by Eclipsa.

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, she barely hit me. Are you?"

"That went better then I would have expected it to, if I'm being honest." Globgor admitted.

"Yeah, I'm suprised she didn't kill you and hang your hide on the wall."

"What did you want to tell me?"

"Well, I'm supposed to meet Prince Shastacan tomorrow. I'm supposed to marry him for reasons involving polatics, to stengthen our relationship with the spiderbites."

"Well that isn't going to be easy."

"I'm going to run away. I'll have to do it tonight." Eclipsa knew the gaurds would find her and drag her back, but it would delay meeting Shastacan anyway.

"It's gonna be ok." Globgor insisted, setting Eclipsa on the bench.

"No it's not going to be ok."

"I'll make sure things will be ok." Globgor sat next to Eclipsa on the bench, who was wiping away her tears on her mauve dress.

"If you say so. I can't belive Mother's thinking of marriage already. I'm only 15."

"Yeah, I was suprised. It's good to think of the future, but for that kind of decision it's early."

"I'll be back in 20 minutes." Eclipsa said, and climbed back up the vines to her room, where she grabbed a blue bag and stuffed some random stuff in it before climbing back down to Globgor.

"I'm running away tonight." The two left, hand in hand.

17 hours later Eclipsa woke up, tied in a chair.

"You were trying to esacape, weren't you?" Solaria asked Eclipsa.

"What did it look like? Bogbeast hunting?"

"Be quiet Eclipsa, I found you sleeping under the stars with the king of monsters Eclipsa! The king of monsters. Prince Shastacan will be here in 45 minutes, there's a clean dress on your bed." Solaria untied her daughter and left the room.

45 minutes later Eclipsa was seated in a parlor, her hands folded in her lap. Shastacan walked in, and kissed one of Eclipsa's hands. She wanted to throw up. She hated this man, she wanted him to go back to the spiderbite kingdom.

"Greetings Princess Eclipsa."

"Hello Prince Shastacan. I know you're here because you're going to marry me. Well guess what? I'm giving you my awsner in advance. I don't. It's nothing personal, I just have someone else in mind. So you can be on your way now, goodbye." Eclipsa left the room and went to her room, where she packed another bag, and slid it under her bed the second Solaria barged in."

"I saw how that went."

"I was honest and respectful."

"Who did you have in mind?"

"Nobody Mother. It was just bluff to get him away." Eclipsa lied, hoping her mother wasn't on her trail. Her Mother left and Eclipsa cried herself to sleep.

2 hours later. Eclipsa was shaken awake by a gaurd.

"Umm...Hello."

"Princess! Monster Ambush!" Eclipsa was up right away, as she followed the gaurd outside.

"Queen Solaria is fighting, I'm taking you to the magic santuary."

"Alright." If it were something else, Eclipsa would be helping. But she saw no need to fight any monster. She saw her Mother fighting a monster that could breathe fire, and paused to watch. Eclipsa watched a monster breathe a wall of fire at Solaria, ashes and soot falling to the ground, as Eclipsa collasped in tears. The next morning Glossaryc read her what she needed to know in Solaria's will.

"Well, pretty much Solaria left you everything, as she didn't have anyone else to give it to. Oh. You won't be happy about this part."Glossaryc said, holding the scroll open with his feet while shoveling in a meatball sub with corn chips with his hand.

"Nothing that could be there will be too bad, as long as I don't have to marry Shastacan."

"Well..."

"What? I'm not marrying Shascacan!"

"Well Princess, it doesn't seem like you have much of a choice."

Eclipsa slouched in her chair.

A few years later Eclipsa tearfully thought of her Mother as she looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a white dress, the bottom made entirely of lace and the top being a tank top dress. If Eclipsa had made her wedding dress she would have gone with something similar, but maybe blood red or dark purple.

Eclipsa placed a tiara on her head and walked down the aisle. She did it alone, as her father left when she was a year old. The priest said the words, but Eclipsa paid no attention to that, but to the day she had to tell Globgor.

"I have to marry Shastacan, it was in my Mother's will. I'm sorry."

"No, it's alright. You'll be accepted if you go with him."

"I don't want to be accepted, I want to be me. And being me means being with you." Eclipsa was snapped back to reality as Shastacan said,

"I do."

"I-I do." Eclipsa sputtered as she stared into Shastacan's dead eyes. Then she remembered the plan. She and Globgor would escape tonight.

Eclipsa climbed down the vines one last time. She grabbed Globgor, and pulled him away by his arm. They were finally free to do as they wished.

Eclipsa pulled out her skeleton guitar and started to sing.

"It's some kind of magic
When we make it through the night
It's some kind of magic
When we face what's wrong or right

And head to the future
When nothing's quite so clear"

Globogr joined in on the singing, linking his arm with Eclipsa's.
"But I won't even falter (won't even falter)
When it's you I'm with, my dear

'Cause all I wanna do
Is stay in Mewni with you
And all I wanna see
Is you right here next to me."
