New Advancements in Muggle Society.
Introduction
This is a report about our observations about new advancements in the Muggle society in our month of visitation here. Muggles have made tremendous progress over the past decades, much more so than we expected. This report sets out to list, describe and explain those observations.
SECTION A: Smartphones
Firstly, their invention of the telephone, a device they use to communicate remotely has vastly improved into a small flat thing that can fit in one's pocket. This 'mobile phone' as it is called does more than just help with talking to people remotely. It has several applications that let them do several tasks in a day, such as taking photographs, taking moving pictures (videos), reading the news, and letters, and even listening to music. Each adult muggle will have one and will never home without it, just like wizards and their wands.
The biggest makers of these, as per our information are two people, Samsung and Apple. They have their names plastered on all 'smartphones' made by them. They are around the same price you would expect a high-class broom to be, which came as a shock to us.
We had the exciting opportunity to use these devices. An Apple smartphone, to be precise. Based on our first-hand experience, it takes some getting used to. No longer did we need to use a fireplace or owl to communicate when we were away. With a single tap, We could get in touch with each other. Also, as mentioned before, this device had several applications that let us do several things with one single tap. We were also able to listen to local radio, read the news and take several photographs without needing a bulky camera.
This is something that has revolutionized Muggle society.
SECTION B: INTERNET
Another thing that we did not expect was a so-called "interconnected network" or 'internet". This is a huge network that goes far beyond a single country or continent, or even the whole world itself. And the amazing thing is, it does not exist in any physical form. It is like an alternate dimension that can be accessed through a device like a phone.
There are a lot of things to do on the internet. There is a sea of information and knowledge, almost like a never-ending library. From what we can gather, this internet is also called Google for shorthand, because you need to go through google to access this information.
It has knowledge of all types, from cooking an omelette to maps of the entire world that could pinpoint locations with precision. But it is also an infinite sea of entertainment. We saw several images of cats plastered all over the internet, with text all over them, that is supposed to be some kind of inside joke. However, we cannot offer too much intel on that yet, as we are still in the process of understanding this culture. A picture is attached along with the parchment to get an idea of what we are referring to.
CONCLUSION
This report is brief, as we are very much in the process of understanding the culture and one month is not enough to fully grasp complexities and nuances. However, just spending one here has made it clear to us that we need to update our knowledge about Muggles and try and learn some of their ways of doing things. We could revolutionize our society with the knowledge that Muggles have.
We thank you once again for giving us this wonderful opportunity to learn about the Muggle world. Please expect another report in a month.
