Hi, this is the 2021 May the 4th one shot, totally didn't forget until this morning. Enjoy, feel free to point any error out to me i haven't watched TROS in a while.

"You are nothing! A scavenger girl is no match for the power in me. I am all the Sith!"

Leia's saber came skittering across the floor and into Rey's outstretched hand.

"And I..." she said breathing heavily and feeling for the ignition switch on the saber. "Am all the Jedi," she finished throwing the second saber across the first. She pushed the lightning back, taking a step forwards then another, each easier than the other. The closer she got the more lightning got reflected back to the sender, quickly working through Palpatine's shrivelled flaking skin until nothing was left. As the last of his body disintegrated, a huge electrical shockwave burst from his body, toppling the statues. The shock threw Rey back, it had hit her straight in the chest. She felt her heart speed up and then slow dramatically. Her chest felt tight, it became harder to breath but oddly enough it was fine, she was not scared or panicked.

"You have done well Rey now rest and join us," a voice from the past spoke. A numb coldness began to fill her limbs. Her consciousness was slowly slipping away. just as her vision began to fade she heard scrabbling from across the chamber and then nothing.

Ben had seen the shockwave ripple over the chasm he had been thrown down, he kept pulling himself further up the chasm wall occasionally using the force to boost himself up. It felt like hours before he finally reached the edge, pulling himself up he rolled bac into the chamber. Unsteadily he rose to his feet, sharp pain shot through his left leg, causing him to stumble. he felt it click, the bones grinding against each other. He winced scanning the room to see what had happened. Palpatine was nowhere to be seen and the chanting had stopped. Something was wrong through, there was a coldness in the force. He then noticed Rey's lifeless body laying on the floor. Panic shot through him and he began stumbling towards her, tripping and falling halfway before dragging himself across the floor, his leg hanging limp catching on the jagged floor and twisting it to all angles. Reaching out he grabbed her arm and pulled himself right up to her, moving his body into a sitting position and pulling her lifeless body into his lap. Her skin was pale and growing cold to the touch. He pulled her body into an embrace rocking backwards and forwards. Suddenly an idea came to mind. Carefully he laid her down on the floor, placing his hand on her side, allowing his force energy to transfer into her. He felt himself growing weaker but he kept going. He felt another hand grab his.

"Rey," he breathed.

"Ben" she replied sounding slightly weak. Unable to contain himself any longer, Ben pulled her in for a kiss. Caught off-guard Rey had no idea what to do. Breaking off the kiss Ben pulled her closer.

"I thought I'd lost you."

"For a minute there you had." Rey chuckled a little. Ben smiled. Suddenly the world tilted and his vision began to blur. falling back he could faintly hear Rey calling his name, but it was distant and foggy. Slowly the world around him faded to black.

"Hey kid, didn't expect you here."

He was still in the chamber but something was off, he didn't have a body. "Where am I? Who are you?"

"Doesn't even recognise his own mother, typical boy. Your in the in-between not yet passed on but not alive either, most non force users stay here, unable to find true peace."

"Mom, how do I get back?"

"Why, you could come with me, to see your father finally free of Snooke's influence."

"I can't leave Rey, not now."

"I see, you care for the girl. If you truly want to go back, we can send you, but you will not be able to come back here."

"I'll do it, send me back, please."

"Very well."

He was back, coughing he sat up. "Shit, doing the being dead and coming back isn't fun."

"No it really isn't" Rey said from beside him, "What do we do now? Palpatine is dead."

"We should probably go before the resistance get down here, come on." he grabbed her by the hand and went to stand. "Shit!" he cursed "Forgot that was broken, lets just go." Leaning on Rey for support, they made their way to the ships. "Take the TIE its faster." clambering up, Rey jumped into the piolets seat. hitting the controls she raised the craft and jumped straight to lightspeed out of the system and to systems unknown to finally explore what she had missed on those years on Tatooine.
