Hi, thank you for the reviews! I'm glad to know that there are actually people out there who read the story.
I'll publish a chapter every Thursday.
Mistakes are mine. I'll be happy if you can let me a review and I hope you'll enjoy the story.
Disclaimer: I still don't own Glee or the characters.
"WHY HAVEN'T YOU TOLD ME EARLIER" Rachel was yelling at Blaine. "I LITERALLY MADE A FOOL OF MYSELF"
"I-I didn't know she was the girl you were talking about"
"DID YOU SEE ANOTHER GIRL TALKING TO THE INSTRUCTOR? YOU'RE JUST AN IDIOT! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY KURT HAS A CRUSH ON YOU"
"You have a crush on me?" Blaine was looking at Kurt, totally ignoring Rachel.
"Come on Rachel you don't even mean what you said. You should apologize to Blaine" Mercedes was trying to calm her down.
"And it's not that bad, you still got a chance to play tennis with her next week" Kurt just found a new interest in the conversation in order to avoid eye contact with Blaine.
Rachel was at home with Blaine. She convinced him to come the night before the game in order to help her prepare for her tennis match. They were watching old Santana's games videos in order to analyse her weaknesses in game.
"See she's always in the back of the court, you need to make the ball land in the front to destabilize her" Blaine was trying his best to give Rachel some advice, even though he knew that she didn't stand a chance against Santana.
"Those videos are like ten years old. Do you know why she stopped playing? She was good" Rachel was obviously not listening to Blaine.
"Don't know maybe she was injured. You're left-handed and she's right-handed, that gives you an advantage." Rachel was now looking at her phone "Oh come on Rachel! If you don't make an effort you won't be able to score a single point, and don't even think of winning a set".
"That's weird her wikipedia page doesn't give any information about what she did since she quit tennis at 22. And she doesn't have any socials. Does she even live in the 21th century?" At this point Rachel was just scrolling on Santana's internet page, trying to find any non tennis related information about her. She stopped when she found a cute picture of Santana. "Look at her, don't you have second thought about being gay?" Blaine was staring at her confused, he didn't know if she just had gone crazier than she usually is.
"Excuse me? I mean yeah, she looks amazing but Rachel you can't say things like that. I need to go anyway. I think you are ready for tomorrow anyway. Yeah you're gonna kill it." He was being sarcastic. He usually liked Rachel but sometimes it was too much -she was too much-.
Rachel took a serious face. "Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have treated you like that. I appreciate what you did for me. I'll try to have your advices on mind tomorrow, even thought I'm not sure I remember them." Most of the time Rachel was living in her own little world -where she was a star, capable of anything and better than anyone else-. However, in the end she wasn't a bad person and she did care about her friends.
Friday was her favorite day. She didn't have any music history class, she was only practicing with her students, which gave her the opportunity to share her incredible voice. She loved being at NYADA, surrounded by talented people who all share her passion for music, but this Friday was way too long. She wasn't as concentrated as she was used too, she was too anxious about her future match against Santana. Will she be here tonight? Will she remember that she promised me a match? Will she even want to play? There were too much questions. Why didn't she play last time? Who goes to a tennis club, get change and not play tennis? Rachel was constantly thinking of Santana, she even called one of her students Santana by mistake.
Eventually her work day came to an end and Rachel made her way to the MT tennis club. She arrived early as usual, but she was slightly disappointed to find the changing room empty and no sight of Santana. She found Blaine and they did a long warm up, waiting for Kurt and Mercedes to arrive.
Mercedes and Kurt arrived thirty minutes later. There were still no sign of Santana.
"I think she's not coming" Kurt was probably right.
"It's fine, I'd rather play with you anyway." Rachel was trying to hide her disappointment.
They started a double game. It was not a serious match but Rachel was playing with Blaine against Kurt and Mercedes and she really wanted to win -which was easy because Kurt hadn't figured out the service yet and Mercedes refused to move to get the ball "I mean have you ever seen Beyonce running after a tennis ball?".
Rachel was really focused on the game when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"WHAT THE-" She turned around to see who was the person daring to disturb her during a match. "Oh hi" Santana was standing in front of her.
"Hello Rachel" Santana was clearly making fun of her, but Rachel was happy. She remembered my name!
"I was told that your name is Santana." Santana nodded. "So Santana are you ready for our match? I have a date to win"
"A date uh?" Rachel couldn't read the look on Santana's face.
"I mean, a friendly date, except if you want it to be a date-date" A date-date what was that? Sometimes I need to put my foot out of my mouth.
"I think we should start by playing" Santana was making her way to an empty court. Rachel followed her -not without checking her out-. Now I'm sure, she's cute on a photo and gorgeous in real life.
Santana let Rachel do the service and they started the game.
It was a total disaster -or at least for Rachel-. She knew that she wasn't as good as Santana but Rachel wasn't prepared to be that bad. Santana was everywhere in the court, she didn't missed the ball a single time. At the end of the game Rachel got to score one time but she was pretty sure that Santana didn't catch the ball on purpose.
"So about that drink?" Rachel asked even though she has lost.
"Seems like you didn't win, I'm not going on a date with you today"
"Maybe next time?"Rachel knew that this was pointless, she wouldn't be any better the next week, but she still wanted to spend some time with Santana.
"Yeah maybe next time, " Santana smiled genuinely.
