General Darnell's Office

"Come in, Steve. You said it was urgent. What's the issue?" General Darnell did not like meeting people at short notice, but Steve had insisted that it was quite imperative he listen to what he had found.

"Thanks General. Remember the case you gave Diana regarding a Dr. Henderson?"

This peaked his interest.

"How do you have that classified information?"

"Diana asked me to look into that fellow. But now is not the time for all that. I think and Wonder Woman are in great danger!"

"Why would Wonder Woman be involved in an Army mission?"

"I will start from the beginning. When I was not able any record of him, I tried looking into records of fake names issued by counterfeiting rings we have busted so far. It was in one of them that I found that name. It was given to Ned Carl, brother of..."

"Dr. Henry Karl? The defector who nearly cost us the war?"

"Yes sir! He was caught when Wonder Woman busted those Nazi spies, who were trying to smuggle him to Germany. Apparently, his brother was never convicted. And right around that time, he started paying strange visits to maximum security prisons. The wardens there were a bit reluctant, but some pressure and threat from army major was enough to loosen their tongues. Ned has been bribing them and anonymously visiting every criminal who was put behind bars by Wonder Woman. He knows all of her tricks and weaknesses. This was a charade to get to Wonder Woman! And poor Diana got mixed up in all this. And I tried contacting Wonder Woman, but she isn't replying! "

"If what you say is true, we must act swiftly. I will get you some soldiers. Get to his residence. Do what you have to, to stop this madman."

"Yes sir!"

At Ned's house:

Now to find her lasso. She doesn't seem to be having it. But I know that trick.

He removed her shoes. There, tied around her leg, made to look like an amulet, was her Golden Lasso. Unwinding it, he then went on to tie her legs and hands with the lasso.

And now to make you powerless.

Bring chains and welding machine, he welded her bracelets together behind her back, making her powerless, according to Aphrodite's Law.

He then carried her to the basement, and waited for her to wake up.

A few hours later:

The Amazonian Princess regained consciousness, only to find her laying on the floor, tied with lasso and worst of all, her bracelets welded together.

Great Hera! How did he know where I had hid my Lasso of Truth? He also knows when a man welds my bracelets together, I lose my powers! I am in a lot of trouble.

Her first instinct was to contact Steve using her mental radio. But, just as she tried sending a wave, she felt a burst of pain in her brain.

"Tsk Tsk. Your tricks won't work against me woman! I know everything about you. For example, I knew you would try to contact your boyfriend using your mental Radio. But the walls here are painted with blockadium, an isotope which throws your rays back at you. Don't try it again." He was smiling, knowing she was helpless and no one could save her now.

Suffering Sappho! He may be correct.

"But why are you doing this, Dr. Henderson?" she asked, hoping to get more information from him.

"Remember Dr. Henry Karl, dear Amazon? You ruined his life! He was one of the greatest minds on this planet, and you ruined his reputation. Right now, he is rotting in prison, thanks to you. I will be exacting his revenge. It was easy enough to lure you here. All I had to do was manipulate that naïve girl from Army. You don't need to know anything else, you blasted Amazon. And you can call me, Nemesis!" He realized she was trying to get more information.

He then picked the other end of her golden lasso.

"This compels you to do anything I wish you to do, correct?"

"Yes." She said with a defeated tone.

"Good. Now, I will be freeing your hands. You will not try to escape. You are my prisoner, get it?"

"Yes, master."

He then removed the cuffs and untied her hands, ensuring that the lasso was still tied to her legs. Then he passed her a new costume.

"Wear this costume." He commanded.

Under the power of her lasso, she was forced to do what he commanded. With her powers restored, if temporarily, she changed into the new costume in an instant. It was almost entirely similar to her old one, except it had the symbol of Swastika. Her new Tiara too had the same symbol.

Quickly, Nemesis again tied her hands together and welded her bracelets.

"And now, for the final touch." He tied a girdle around her waist. "This is a variation of Venus Girdle, which will force you to submit to my authority. Once I turn this key, all of your will to resist will vanish."

Is this the end?

Still under the control of Lasso, she couldn't fight back as he went to lock the girdle in place. Almost instantly, her mind became black.

"So tell me, do you have any will to fight back?"

Her Lasso compelled her to speak the truth.

"No, master."

"Good. Now, we won't need this lasso." Removing her lasso, he threw it.

"Follow me, my dear. We have a lot of work to do."

A few hours later:

Steve and a bunch of soldiers reached Ned's residence.

"Remember troops, we are dealing with an extremely dangerous individual. He may have Diana as hostage. Be careful."

Following standard Army procedures, they forced their way into the house from all sides. But it was empty. There was no sign of Ned anywhere.

Just when Steve had lost all hope, one of the soldiers shouted from the basement: "Major, you are going to want to see this."

Hoping against all odds that he had found Diana, Steve rushed downstairs.

"Is it Diana? Is she safe?"

"No sir. We found Wonder Woman's costume and her golden lasso lying here."

"What?! That madman has got to Wonder Woman? This is not good."
