Chapter 2

(LEVI POV)

Once I received the message from. Hange, I immediately headed straight for the commander's quarters. I had a feeling something wasn't quite right Erwin today, but I didn't realize that he was sick. I had made some hot tea before I had received the news from Hange and decided to make some extra for the sick Commander.

Upon reaching Erwin's room, I gently knocked on the door with one arm while expertly balancing a wooden tray of a tea pot and cups in the other arm.

"Come in..." came a weak and hoarse response.

I quietly entered the dimly lit room to find the Commander lying in bed, curled up under layers of blankets trying to conserve warmth.

"Hey..." he croaked.

"Hey yourself, I made some extra tea for ya." I replied back, making my way over to Erwin's bedside.

I sat the wooden tray down on the nightstand next to the bed and gently felt of Erwin's forehead, my brows furrowing at the unnatural warmth radiating from the commander's face.

"Oi, your having a fever again, let me get you some water." I said, standing up to go get the Commander a glass of ice cold water. I took a short walk to the small kitchen and got a glass of water.

Upon returning to the bedroom, I could hear retching sounds coming from the bathroom and saw the bed was empty. I sighed, gently set the cup down. I entered the bathroom to find Erwin crouching over the toilet, throwing up again. I didn't say anything, and simply knelt beside him, and gently rubbed his broad back, waiting for him to finish being sick.

Once he was finished, he coughed a bit and spat into the toilet then looked at the mess in the water, and his face scrunched up in disgust, "Ugh,"

He leaned back against the wall, hugging his bloated stomach, and groaned, as he looked over at me after squinching his eyes shut for a few seconds trying to ride out the nausea.

I have him a sympathetic look and a very very very faint smile crept onto my lips (as you all know, that's very rare for me) as I assured him that it'll be alright.

Gently ruffling the commander's damp, sweaty, and messy hair, I placed a cool, damp rag on the back of his neck, between the collar of his pajama shirt and his neck, causing him to let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you Levi," he murmured quietly, leaning into me as I finished re-adjusting the damp rag on the back of the sick Commander's neck. Seeing that Erwin was now almost asleep in my arms, I took the chance and was somehow able to pull the larger man into my arms, while carrying him back to bed for a much needed rest.
