Shrek and y/n walked toward his house, y/n couldn't help but stare at Shrek, but when he looked at them they turned away in embarrassment. Shrek still held them close to his warm safe body, y/n felt so connected to him, like he was the one. But he can't be, they thought, I've only just met him. y/n then fell face first in the mud again. A little while later after a lot more mud, a lot more falling, and a lot more bashful looks, y/n was safe and warm in Shrek's house. They were sitting on a big chair, he only had one so he had moved a chair from his dining table to sit with them. A roaring fire was in front of them, rats cooking overtop. Y/n didn't want to break the magical silence so they stared into Shrek's eyes waiting for him to make a move.

Shreks eyes were firmly on the rats, making sure they didn't burn. y/n snuggled more into the chair, clutching the tea shrek had made for them, it was kind of disgusting but they appreciated the effort. Suddenly, a banging at the door, shreks looked at the door and muttered something under his breath like, not him again.

"SHREK", called a booming masculine voice from outside the door, "I WANT YOU BACK". Shrek took off his apron and hung it by the door. He opened the door and standing there in a leather jacket and motorcycle helmet was the Lorax. He was leaning on his motorcycle hounding a dark red electric guitar.

"I've come to win you back my love," the Lorax said with a cool swagger. y/n peaked their head out the door to get a better look. "I regret leaving yo-" the Lorax was stunted, staring into y/n's eyes.

"You had your chance" Shrek looked at him with disdain in his eyes. But the Lorax did not respond, he kept looking at y/n, a blush creeping its way onto his cheeks. y/n stared back into his eyes and the bashful feeling returned. Shrek turned back to them, a twinge of sadness in his eyes, y/n felt the same way about him. Things were all-staring to slow down around them.
