Sarah beat the Labyrinth, denied the Goblin king, and left the Underground. Jareth was heartbroken, but he promised he wouldn't hold it against her. He loves her so much. He thought of the quaint little mortal saying 'It's better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all'. So he continued to rule his kingdom, but he made sure to never forget 'his' Sarah.

Sarah grew up, but never forgot about her adventure in the Underground. She thought of Jareth often, regretting breaking his heart. She was just a child then. She didn't understand what he was asking her. Eventually Sarah met a nice young man in her 2nd year of college.

They fell in love. They got married in the fall the year Sarah turned 20. They lived in a beautiful suburban home. When Sarah was 21 she found out she was pregnant. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on her 22nd birthday.

Sarah was happy that her daughter and her could celebrate their birthday together. Sarah named her Ella Saranna. Ella means 'beautiful, fairy Maiden, Goddess'. Saranna means 'princess' and is also a combination of Sarah and Anna. Sarah named Ella this because she felt it paid tribute to the fae king she denied. Sarah never told her husband the meaning behind their daughters name, he thought it was pretty nonetheless.

It's been one year since Ella was born. Sarah's husband threw Sarah and baby Ella a huge birthday party. That adult party in the house and the baby party outside in the backyard. They got Ella's smash cake out of the way, then went through all her presents. Once Ella's part of the party was over it was Sarah's turn.

They did the cake. Then her presents came. All her friends. (Her family died in a horrible accident 6 years ago.) went first with all their gifts. Sarah's husband wanted to go last. When she opened that last of their gifts Sarah's husband made a speech.

"Sarah, since the day I met you I knew we would be together forever. You are smart, beautiful and kind. When I first saw you I told myself I was going to marry you one day. The day of our wedding was the happiest day of my life. I was so nervous, but when I saw you walk down the aisle in your dress, I thought you looked like a beautiful fairy. All I could think about was how happy our lives were going to be. The day we found out you were pregnant, I couldn't describe it. The day Ella was born, the day I became a father I felt I know what it's like to live a fairytale and be in heaven. So I wanted to make sure I bought you the best gift that would show my love for you is never ending."

He pulled out a square black box from behind his back and set it in Sarah's hand. Sarah had tears in her eyes as she opened the box. It was a necklace with a diamond chain and it had a moon with diamonds encrusted in it. On the back of the moon it read 'I love you to the moon and back'. Sarah grabbed her husband and gave him a loving embrace with a passionate kiss.

"Glad you like it, cost me so much money we'll have to use it to retire." he said with a chuckle. Sarah gave him a shocked look. "I'm kidding about the retirement thing, but it was really expensive. I did it because I love you. I would do anything for you." "Thank you, I love it." The party soon ended. It was now 8pm and Sarah was upstairs putting Ella to bed.

Sarah suddenly heard ruckus down stairs. She was about to investigate when her husband came barging in the room and shut the door behind him and locked it. He was scared. Sarah never seen him scared before. She was worried.

"What's wrong? What's going on?" she said her voice trembling. "Hurry, get Ella and hide. Someone broke in and they have a gun." He said rushing to get Sarah and Ella hidden underneath the king sized bed. Before she could get Ella out of the crib the robber shot the lock on the door and kicked it open.

Immediately Sarah screamed and shielded her daughter with her body. The robber shot Sarah's husband in the head and he died instantly. He then aimed for Sarah. She tried to grab the gun, but he ended up shooting her in the stomach. Before he could finish the job he heard police sirens. He knew she would die from blood loss so he made a quick getaway.

Sarah laying in her own pool of blood, looked over to her husband knowing he was dead. She could hear Ella screaming and crying. Sarah knew she was going to die, but the robber never got to Ella. She knew how the legal system worked. She was a social worker for 'Gods sake'. She didn't want Ella to go through that. So, she did the only thing she could do before she died. "I wish Jareth the Goblin king would take her away, right now."

Jareth was sitting in his study playing chess against himself. 'Goblins are to dumb to master such a game' he scoffed. Then he heard it. A wish has been made. "Time to go to work" he said in a sarcastic sigh. Jareth disappeared and a fluttering of glitter was in his chair. He made it to the location of the wish.

Then his eyes opened wide at the horrible scene before him. He saw a man lying dead in blood. Looks like a gunshot. He felt a hand grab his ankle. He quickly spun around to see the culprit.

He gasped in shock. "Sarah?!" he asked, face going pale. She was shot in the stomach lying in a pool of blood. He could tell she didn't have much time, he also knew he couldn't help her. "Sarah what happened?" She started to choke out blood. He bent down trying to help her up a little.

"Listen, Jareth I don't have much time. I'm not an idiot. I know I'm about to die. I didn't call you here to save me either, because I know you can't" she looked at him, her eyes serious. 'Still as stubborn as ever' he thought to himself. He could tell she was in pain. "Please, take my daughter and raise her as your own." she pointed to the crying babe in the crib.

"I beg you. The mortal laws here will do here no good…" she paused "... I named her Ella Saranna in memory of… you and the Underground. To remind myself of my mistake. The mistake of not accepting your offer. The mistake of denying you and denying that I loved you back then. Just as much as I love you now."

Jareth looked at her utterly dumbfounded. He wishes he could save her so he could be with her forever, but again it was no use. "Sarah, I promise I will care for her as if she were my own…" He paused "...as if she were 'our' child." His voice was sad. "She will want for nothing, ever." Sarah smiled at him and before she passed away she said in a whisper "Thank you Jareth, I love y…." before she could finish her soul left her body.

He grabbed Ella from the crib, before he disappeared he turned back to Sarah's now dead body. "I know Sarah, mine. I love you too, you precious thing." A single tear streamed down his cheek, then he disappeared as he did before, glitter fluttered in the spot he was standing. The police finally made it up the stairs and ran to the busted down door to see two dead body's and no baby. They assumed the robber kidnapped her. What they didn't know was that baby Ella would never be seen again, at least not in the Aboveground, anyway.
