Michaela was at her desk examining a new case. Suddenly, pain took her breath away. She felt her heart beating fast. She gasped : Ben.

All of a sudden, she felt a change at the precinct

Faces were worried and turned to her, a chill ran through her spine, she had a bad feeling… then, Jared walked towards her and hurriedly took her to their captain's office.

Her phone rang, it was Zeke, he didn't give her time to speak, he was very worried and questionned: "How is Ben? "

She looked at Jared, his closed face and sad eyes made her realize that the situation, whatever it was, was very serious, far more serious then she thinked.

"Michaela, there was a shooting at Ben's house"

Michaela closed her eyes and shivered.

" No ! "How ? They are protected, days and nights! "

She questionned Jared to find out what had happened, already knowing that the answer wouldn't probably pleased her.

" Is everyone OK ? "

Jared shook his head sadely and replied, "Grace and the children are safe!"

" And Ben ? "

"Ben was hit! "

Michaela hold back a sob. No not Ben… It wasn't fair, he didn't deserve this, not him…

She tried to cope for a minute, "How is he?"

"We don't know for sure, help was there very quickly but our colleagues on the scene couldn't tell us much more, it seems quite serious, I'm sorry! "

He added: "I called your father, he's on his way to pick you up! "

Ten minutes later, an eternity for Michaela, Steve was there with Zeke, he took his daughter in his arms, just before she told him: "Do you have any news? "

"Grace told me that the kids are with her, and they're fine! "

" And Ben ? "

Steve shook his head, "He took two bullets, his condition is critical… he wasn't doing well when the medics arrived on the scene!"

Michaela closed her eyes, Ben had to fight like Hell, for Grace, for Cal, for Olive, for Eden and for her… for his family. He had to hang on, he shouldn't give up!

And for just a moment, she heard a voice whispering in her head: "Hang on!"

Minutes look like hours when you're waiting for help.

Grace was beside her husband. Ben opened his eyes briefly when he felt her presence, she had taken his hand, he had squeezed it as hard as he can do it, with the energy of despair.

He didn't want to leave her, leave them, he had to fight, but he was tired, so tired!

Grace whispered, "Hang on, I need you!" "

Her presence, her love, gave him the strength to fight, no matter what. He had to be there to see Eden grow. He had to be at Olive's wedding. He had to be there for Cal when he will need him.

But it was getting too hard, it was too hard ... Grace felt Ben weaken, he let go of her hand.

Vance was there, the despear in Grace's eyes made his spine chill!

She whispered : « Ben, please hang on! ".

His response stunned her: "I can't! »

When Ben passed out, Grace stifled a sob, that's when she heard the ambulance.

Two doctors walked out, one of them had a familiar face. Since the reappearance of the plane, they had spent a lot of time in the hospital. With Cal for his leukemia, with Michaela when she was injured, for the pregnancy, Eden's birth and Ben had spent a lot of time there with Saanvi,

The doctor's worried voice suddenly brought back Grace to reality

"Come on Ben, hang on, please!"
