(Third person POV)
Medical nin just finished examining our protagonist. "It seems kyubi's chakra has enhanced his water affinity."
Kakashi seemed satisfied with that answer. The man in the corner the mythical Super pervert know as jiryia. Wasn't satisfied wanting to know how it affected it.
"Enhanced how does it increase its strength or his control or all of the above" jiraiya spoke with curiosity leaking out of his voice.
"We think it's all of the above but we're not sure" the medic nin spoke slightly confused by the dilemma.
(1 hour later)
Naruto stood above the lake after finding out who Jiraiya of the Sannin or as Naruto deemed him Pervy Sage. He wanted to train Naruto during the chunnin exams. He was told it's because of his unique water affinity. Which is why Naruto now stood at the lake. He was told some basic instructions. He was told to picture his chakra manipulating the water to his will. Before learning Jutsu Naruto wanted to learn how it worked. He wished to be able to control water then eventually draw moisture from the air. He was told of Tobirama senju the Nidaime Hokage. His legendary water Jutsu prowess was unrivavled.
Naruto swished the water from side to side in amazement. He decided to stop messing around. He raised the water up using his chakra. He tried to bring it closer to him. It imploded sending him to the ground. Naruto opened his eyes feeling wet expecting to see the lake. But to be once again back in the sewer. Naruto once again continued to the kyubi. He walked closer this time.
"My warden has come once again to see me." Kyubi said that as if Naruto chose this
"It's not like I meant to come here fox" Naruto spoke with anger.
Kyubi chuckled "I summoned you here it takes a great deal of effort." "I can only do it in moments of danger or unconsciousness"
"Well do you want Kyubi I have training to do" Naruto spoke with impatience
"Our chakra has bonded completely now. If you die I never will reform. I wish to understand you is all."
"Ask the questions i'll answer"
"Why do you feel such grief for that Uchiha trash" kyubi spoke with disgust at the name Uchiha
"Your a giant demon fox but we humans have emotions and connections with people similar to us or at least long for a connection."
"Fine begone you worthless bag of meat"
Naruto woke up looking to the lake he summoned the water to him. This time it didn't implode. He tried to morph it into shapes. Stretching it and rotating it in different ways. Jiryia watched from the trees at his godson. The urge to help him evident. Yet he restrained he couldn't train the boy yet. Soon though jiryia would make up for lost time.
Naruto tried to gather more water but he couldn't. He knew he could summon more on the bridge. Maybe it was due to kyubi's influence. Though that was questions for later. Naruto pondered on how to do it. He thought back to the academy. Then it hit him Iruka sensei could help. He dashed off towards the academy. Iruka sensei was his closest friend no brother figure. He would be happy to see him after the events that transpired.
Naruto walked into Iruka's classroom. He saw his former sensei's face light up at him. This made him happy to see that Iruka still cared for him greatly.
"Naruto it's good to see you what brings you here?" Iruka asked inquisitively
"I need help understanding chakra affinity usage." Naruto asked somewhat meekly he hated asking for help.
"That's a tad advance but for my number one student nothing's impossible." Iruka said with pride.
Naruto and Iruka caught up before getting to work. Iruka explained how affinity's required much better chakra control than he currently possessed. He gave him a list of training methods and instructions.
"Come back soon Naruto and hey stay safe okay. I hear about Zabuza I want you to be careful." Iruka said in a protective tone only heard from someone who cares greatly for you.
Naruto decided to start off with the water walking exercise. He thought it would be easy. But he immediately fell into the water. He spent the next 5 hours working constantly. He made little progress barely staying above water. He could keep his head above now. He tried to walk up but failed. He climbed out once more and sat down. He was tired yes Naruto Uzumaki tired. He went home and slept better than he had for a while.
Naruto awoke and got ready for the day. He showered and brushed his teeth. Then a nice steaming bow of Ramen. He walked to training ground 7. He looked for his teammates. When it hit him he had no teammates at the moment. He was told that they would be a exception for the chunnin exams. They could do it separately or by themselves. Naruto decided to visit Sasukes grave.
Naruto stood over the grave putting a hand over his eyes. The hand slid down his face with his tears. He wasn't fast enough to get to Sasuke. They weren't close at all. But they had a connection some respect. Sasuke was the last Uchiha he could have restored his clan. But Naruto wasn't strong enough. Naruto looked around to see Kakashi standing over a grave. Naruto walked over to Kakashi. Kakashi seemed to be in a trance.
"Sensei are you alright?" Naruto seemed genuinely concerned. After all Kakashi was cool and calculated normally
"Naruto surprised to see you I'm fine just... remincing."
"Who's grave is this a friend of yours?"
"My teammate Obito Uchiha died saving my life. He gave me this sharigan I try and honor him."
Naruto stood next to him nothing else needed to be said. They we're similar in some regard. Two teammates gone before their time.
This chapter was shorter than I wanted but I already was stretching for content so I'm not gonna make promises for longer chapters as I need to write what is needed not longer because that's what people would want the story is important and I don't want to add random filler
