A/N: First Chapter was a little short, I won't lie. But don't worry, this one is full of a lot more excitement. Now, some things I should probably clarify. One, Alistair married Anora, and Loghain is alive and well. I've always liked Loghain and the same goes for Alistair. So why not keep the two of them alive?

Two, all of the Warden's companions are now in the Mojave. Even those that are not found within Dragon Age Awakening. And with that I'll also say that they're companion quests were completed and they are all close with the Warden. Especially Morrigan. ;)

Three, though I'll probably acknowledge it as some point in this Chapter. A year has passed since the events of A Needed Quest. It seemed like the only appropriate amount of time to pass. Give team RWBY and the other people of Vale plenty of time to adjust to the Mojave.

Enjoy and leave a Review hen you're finished.

Chapter 2: A Needed Risk

"Nope." The Courier said, sounding as though she didn't have any care in the world, which she didn't. "Don't care if the Mojave might explode, still going through with it." She continued to smile, even as Veronica and the other members of the Companions attempted to stop Six from killing everyone in the Mojave.

Arcade tried to step in. "Courier wait." He said, nearly out of oxygen thanks to the Courier's superior speed. "You... you need to consider the variables." He warned, getting Six to slow to a slower pace. "The Mojave could... most likely would... EXPLODE!"

Six came to a full stop and out of nowhere kissed Arcade on the cheek, shocking everyone and getting his face to turn red. "Dear Arcade. My sweet Arcade." She whispered into his ear. "I'll take that chance!" She shouted into his ear, getting Arcade to immediately retreat. "This is too awesome to pass up!"

Velvet attempted to intervene. "But Six." She said, looking terrified of what was to come. "What if Arcade and Mobius are right? I don't want to die. And neither does anyone else. Right you guys?" She looked over to Ruby, who was still wearing Boone's Beret, even after a year. "Right Ruby?"

Everyone looked to Ruby, who didn't respond for a few seconds. "Can I pull the switch?" She asked, looking at Six with a smile. The rest of the Companions only stared with shocked faces as Six nodded and signaled for Ruby to come over. "Yes, thanks Six."

"Relax guys." Six said, arms crossed. She took a seat next to Ruby. "Two things. Well, three actually. One, Mobius told us there's only a 60% the Mojave goes up in flames." Six always loved to take a proper gambled, no matter what was at stake. "Second, whatever appears in the Mojave after this thing is activated could give us an edge over the Legion when we launch an assault on Remnant." Even with that, no one aside from Ruby thought it was worth the risk. "And finally, Ruby already pulled the switch."

Their eyes widened, the Companions looked to the switch, which was now pointing in the opposite direction. And then the panicking started. Yang, Veronica, Arcade, and Blake started to run around the complex screaming their lungs out, Coco tried to comfort Velvet as best she could, Ulysses didn't really move at all, and Cass started to consume every sip of whiskey in sight. The panicking lasted for a total of seven minutes.

Mobius walked, sort of, into the lab. "Good news everyone!" He said in his iconic voice. Six was so glad she kept him alive. He kept the Big MT from getting lame. "The Mojave is safe. Turns out I made some errors in my calculations." No longer thinking they were all about to perish, everyone started to relax or cheer. "There was a 96.34% chance of things going wrong." Suddenly the cheering stopped. "Not that it matters, seeing as it was a success. Well, I'll see you all tomorrow."

The Courier chuckled to herself. "Huh." She said, not quite knowing what to say next. "You know what?" She said, getting everyone's attention. Her chuckling quickly increased and transformed into laughter. "I still would've taken the chance." After that everyone took turns punching Six in the face.

Hours later, now outfitted in the Desert Ranger Combat Armour, Six, after taking a few Stimpacks, looked to the new mark on the Mojave. The complex as a whole was Medieval in terms of construction. It was truly an incredible sight. And in the event the transfer wasn't permanent, it was also one Six needed to approach right away.

She looked back to the four companion she had chosen to tag along. Ulysses, Joshua, Velvet, and Ruby. They all looked relatively excited and nervous. Even Ulysses looked eager to see what waited for them. "Alright." Six said to the lucky individuals. "Everyone remember why I selected you?"

Joshua stepped forward. "Because you promised me this was an excellent way to spread the word of God." Joshua clarified, a stern look on his face. "However, if you're wrong, and there are only savages waiting for us..." He was starting to scare the Courier. "Disappointment is the only thing you will get from me."

After Six took a few steps away from Graham for personal safety reasons, Ruby took a few steps forward. "I'm so charming that everyone will want to be friends with me. Which is good since, well, you kind of took them away from their own world against their will."

Though the voice she used was friendly and welcoming, Ruby's words didn't need to sound so cruel. Ulysses crossed his arms. When the Courier was selecting companions to tag along, it almost seemed like she picked Ulysses for no tactical reason. Sure, when it came to combat there were few who surpassed him. Still, picking someone like Veronica or Arcade would've proven wiser. Ulysses still agreed to tag along, of course. He still wanted to see what was waiting for the Mojave.

Still not entirely sure why she was there, Velvet raised a hand. "Um, Six?" She said, getting an immediate reaction from the Courier. "I can guess why you wanted the others to come along with you." She coughed. "But why me?" The Courier wondered if that was a serious question.

Six gave a few pats to Velvet on the shoulder. "Because you're adorable." It was certainly an odd reason. But then again, the Courier would almost always find a way to make things as odd as possible. "If the people waiting for us are all actually Bandits, then we need someone who they would never open fire on. That's where you come in. You're literally so cute to the point where none would ever want to shoot you." Quite the complement.

It took a few minutes for Velvet, and even the others, to fully process the fact that the Courier had Velvet tag along solely thanks to the Faunus's excessive cuteness. "Alright, phase one." The Courier said, taking a seat on the ground. She equipped a Gauss Rifle and used it to zoom in on the complex.

Aside from the friendly ones living within Jacobstown, there were very few Super Mutants and Nightkin left in the Mojave. They all either left once they realized there was no way for them to go up against Six and the Companions, or they were slaughtered when encountering the very same group.

However, Six was able to locate an isolated Super Mutant Outpost. It was almost entirely comprised of Super Mutants aside from the outpost's leader, who was a Nightkin. The outpost acted as no real threat to the rest of the Mojave. And for a while everyone ignored the Super Mutants living inside.

Now they were finally going to serve a useful purpose. Though none of the Companions were aware, Six had Mobius purposely transported the complex close to the Super Mutant's outpost to see what they were capable of. Not exactly something you would expect Six to go through with, right?

And normally she wouldn't. But she found two good reasons to guide the Mutants there. One, whatever was in the complex could potentially aid them in kicking the Legion out of Remnant, and thanks to some of Arcade's own calculations, it seemed more and more likely the Mutants were going to attack Novac.

If the Mutants killed everyone at the complex, Six would know it was a waste of time and need to kill the Mutants herself. However, if the people inside the complex managed to survive and even kill all the Mutants, then it would mean Six was right to take such a risk.

Observing the complex with the Gauss Rifle, the Courier noticed that the Mutants were already making their mark. Several Mutants had already killed multiple Soldiers, all of which were outfitted in a Knight's armour, letting Six know that these people truly came from some point in the past, or something along that line.

Luckily, it seemed at least one Soldier on the outside was still alive. In fact, this Soldier was kicking some serious ass with only a sword and shield. He managed to kill any Mutant that got a little too close, even the ones with guns. Somewhat satisfied, the Courier unequipped the Gauss Rifle.

She turned around to face Ruby and the others. "Alright men." She said, despite two of the companions being female. "It would seem that for... unknown reasons, Super Mutants are attacking the structure we summoned." If felt kind of wrong to lie. "We should go and aid them right away."

In unison, the four companions gave a nod. Descending from the cliff, the small party quickly reached the new mark on the Mojave. But they didn't have the time to admire the scenery. They managed to gain the attention of several of the invading Super Mutants, who charge at the Companions, weapons pointed straight at them.

Ruby reacted quickly and equipped the Crescent Rose. Ulysses, the Courier, and Joshua all watched as Ruby killed all of the Mutants without any support. Velvet chose to look away from the violence. Ruby was getting a lot closer to replacing Joshua as the strongest member of the Companions. Unless compared to the Courier, of course.

Velvet and Joshua looked around for the man they saw fighting off Mutants with his sword and shield. However, the knight was nowhere in sight. Velvet did manage to find his shield on the ground, which she picked up. Hopefully she would get the chance to return it to him.

"Hey, Six?" Ruby called, trying to keep distance from the Mutant gore pile. She got a quick "Yeah?" from the Courier. "Why are we called the Companions?" She asked, getting Six to smile for some reason. "I always imagine it's... well... you take your companions wherever you go?"

Unfortunately for Ruby, she wouldn't get any answer. At least not the one she was looking for. "Sorry Boone #2." She called Ruby, annoying the little rose quite a bit. "That's a story for another Adventure. We got ourselves a castle to explore." She started towards what she thought was a castle.

"I think it's a keep." Ulysses corrected the Courier, something very few people were courageous enough to go through with. "I read about them in a..." Ulysses noticed that the Courier was now frowning. "Never mind." He said, not wanting to engage in any type of argument with Six.

Before continuing, Six noticed the shield on Velvet's back. "Mine!" She said, snatching it away from Velvet. She admired the shield closely, analyzing its craftsmanship to even the smallest feature. "Yep, mine now." Velvet was completely stunned at the speed at which the Courier managed to take the shield away.

"Hey... I don't think that-" Woosh. It was the sound of an arrow. In fact, it was an arrow that almost certainly would've gone straight through Velvet's skull has she not turned away to confront Six on taking the shield for herself. Six immediately wanted to know what kind of soulless person would ever try to kill such a lovely girl. She looked towards the keep, wanting to see the one who fired the arrow.

The culprit had his arms raised high. "Sorry." He apologized, for some reason. From the look of him, the not so skilled assassin was most likely the leader of the keep. "Didn't mean to shoot it that close. Too many people think us Rogues are automatically skilled with arrows. Oh, and I'll need Loghain's shield."
