I have this whole story finished and I want to post it all at once so badly. Send help.
Please enjoy!
Queen Bee landed safely behind the school, dropping her transformation. Chloé watched Pollen fall tiredly onto her shoulder. She knew that she would have to find Pollen some food. She knew that her bag and lunch were still in the classroom, so if she could get there, she could put the Miracle Box in her bag and snag some food for her kwami. But what to do about the Miracle Box until she got to her bag? She assumed it would be better if no one could see it. She took off her jacket and wrapped the box up inside it, holding it close to her chest. Pollen hid in her front pocket.
As soon as Chloé made her away around to the front of the school, she realized that finding food and a bag would be much harder than she thought it would be. Because Ladybug hadn't finished the fight, and thus there was no Lucky Charm and Miracle Cure, there was still a gaping hole in the side of the school where the akuma had taken her from. And all of her classmates had been evacuated.
Chloé began sifting through the rubble, trying to find her back pack or her lunch at least. But alas, she came up empty.
"Looks like Sabrina took it, Pollen," the blonde muttered to her hiding kwami.
"Such a shame, my queen," Pollen mumbled. Chloé looked around but there was no one in sight. They were long gone. Chloé could hear voices talking, one sounding like Gabriel Agreste, and they were getting closer.
"Let's get out of here, we'll find something!"
Chloé took off down the rode, clutching the Miracle Box tightly. She turned to look back at the school, seeing two adult figures pointing at her. Chloé wasn't looking where she was going and slammed head first into someone's back.
"Whoa, look out dude!"
Chloé looked up to see her classmate Nino Lahiffe staring down at her, his girlfriend Alya giving her a weird look. Chloé looked around to see that she had run straight into the rest of her class.
"There she is! Everything must be fixed then," Alya deduced. But when the teenage girl looked, she saw that their school was still in shambles. What?
"Hey, have you seen Adrien and Marinette," Nino asked, not seeing his girlfriend's confused looks.
"Marinette," Chloé repeated wondering what to tell them.
"Yeah and Adrien too."
Adrien? Why would Adrien be missing? The akuma hadn't involved him in anyway.
"Adrien isn't with you guys," Chloé asked again to make sure. Something wasn't right.
"No, we assumed he was going after you. He and Marinette disappeared right after you got taken."
Chloé felt her heart sank in her chest. The hair, the attitude, the eyes, the infatuation for Ladybug, it all made sense. Chat Noir was her childhood best friend. And he was gone forever. Chloé felt her world come crashing down around her. Besides Sabrina, Adrien had been her one and only friend. He had stuck by her no matter what. And she treated him like shit. She treated everyone like shit.
Chloé liked to pretend that she didn't care what Adrien thought about her, that his loyalty to her was enough. But every once in a while she would catch him rolling his eyes at her from across the room, or hear him say something awful about her behavior. And it hurt so bad. She had wanted to apologize to him for her behavior towards him and his friends for so long. But now she never could. He was gone. Zapped away right in front of her very eyes and she did nothing to stop it.
"Chloé Bourgeois!"
Chloé turned to see Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie walking, no sprinting towards her. She needed to get away from them and quick.
"Can I borrow these?"
Chloé didn't wait for an answer as she snatched Nino's glasses, hat and backpack. She slipped all of them on, throwing her own sunglasses aside. Despite his grievances, she was running away without hesitation. She pushed through her class, ignoring the rude comments and stares. Just for good measure, Chloé slipped Mylene's jacket off as she walked by, throwing it over her own shoulders. As soon as she had made her way through the crowd of students, she bolted. She ran as fast and as hard she could in the shoes she was wearing and she didn't stop. She didn't stop until she was far, far away from the school and far away from Mr. Agreste.
Chloé stopped in an alley, sitting down on the ground, too exhausted to worry about her white pants. She took a few deep breaths before unzipping Nino's backpack and dumping out the contents, placing the Miracle Box inside. She glanced at Nino's stuff, spotting his lunch. Lucky for her, he had a croissant.
"Here, Pollen," Chloé muttered, offering the baked good to her kwami.
"Thank you, my queen," Pollen said and began to eat greedily. Chloé offered a soft smile before remembering that she had stolen a whole lot of stuff. She could always pay them back later, money wasn't the problem. She had never committed a serious crime before. Nothing that could get her locked up anyways. And she was pretty sure that being the mayor's daughter didn't get you out of stuff like this.
Chloé leaned her head back to rest against the brick wall behind her. She had come this far. She couldn't stop. Her thoughts led back to Marinette's face, how desperate it looked. She was gone. Gone, gone. And that led her back to Adrien. Chat Noir.
"My...my best friend was Chat Noir and I didn't even notice. And now. Now it's too late," Chloé mumbled, beginning to feel her throat tighten. Pollen stopped eating to watch her with big, sad eyes. "And...And Ladybug was Marinette Dupain-Cheng! And I treated her like garbage!" Chloé could feel tears start to fall down her face. "And one of the adults I trusted all my life is Hawkmoth! Gabriel Agreste is..."
She paused. Gabriel Agreste was Hawkmoth. Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir. Hawkmoth was fighting his own son. Did he have a clue or was he fighting his son anyway? Chloé felt rage surge inside her, adding onto the anger she felt towards herself.
"Gabriel Agreste has been a shit dad for years! He's been neglecting his son and for what?! Just to fight his own son!"
"Chat Noir is fighting his own father. That is highly ironic," Pollen grumbled sourly. She finished her croissant and was now resting on Chloé's shoulder.
"Chat Noir fought his own father. The akuma made them disappear! Adrien and Marinette are gone forever. And I'll never be able to apologize or see them again. They're never coming back."
Chloé began to sob. Her loud breathing was the only noise echoing in the small alleyway. Pollen remained quiet, stroking Chloé's hair with a paw. She adjusted her seating so that she was sitting on her hip when she felt something sharp poking her through the material of her pocket.
"Ow," Chloé exclaimed, readjusting quickly to pull whatever it was out. Her eyes widened when they landed on Ladybug's earrings. She sighed, putting them away quickly, they were just a reminder and she didn't want to look at them. She was a failure. Completely on her own.
"You have to do something," Pollen encouraged. Chloé shook her head, letting some hair strands get stuck to her wet face. She was sure her makeup was all over the place.
"What can I do? Gabriel Agreste is Hawkmoth. And now there's no one to stop him. Chat Noir and Ladybug... Adrien and Marinette. They would have stopped him. But they can't anymore. They're gone because of me. This is all my fault!"
Chloé burst into tears again, hiding her face from her bee kwami. She needed a good wallow. More than anything she just wanted to get sucked into the wall of the ally behind her and disappear just like Marinette and Adrien. Then she wouldn't have to worry. The fate of the world wouldn't suddenly be her responsibility and she could go back to being the basic, mean bitch she always was. Her tears were interrupted by a voice.
"Maybe so. Maybe this is all your fault."
Chloé raised her head to glare at her kwami.
"Thanks, bug," she retorted, sniffling.
"As I was saying, it might be your fault but there might be a way we can fix it. Did you see if the akuma disappeared?"
Chloé thought back to the experience. It didn't disappear like a normal akuma did. It just ran away. It didn't leave a victim like the akumas usually did if they were called back by Hawkmoth.
"No, it just ran away."
Pollen thought for a second, looking a little more wise than usual.
"Hawkmoth must know that he won't be able to get Chat Noir's ring if he calls the akuma back without a Miracle Cure to bring him back. The akuma is still out there somewhere. If we track it down and set the akuma free, we should be able to bring Ladybug and Chat Noir back."
"But how do we even find it," Chloé asked rudely. "It just ran away and clearly it's hiding somewhere. Tracking it might be damn near impossible!"
"What was the akuma after," Pollen asked. Chloé wiped her face and tried to remember. It wasn't even an hour ago that she had been taken but it felt like weeks.
"Me, actually."
"We can use that to our advantage," the bee kwami told her companion.
"Good idea, Pollen! For now, we need to find some place to hide from Hawkmoth and to keep the Miracle Box until further notice."
Chloé wiped away her last tear and stood up, throwing the backpack with the Miracle Box in it over her shoulders.
"We can do this, Pollen. Me and you together! We can do this!"
