Daisuke got into UA. That wasn't any surprise to him, since he had kept track of his points and ensured that he'd get in. No, what really surprised him was arriving to his class room and seeing Shoto there as well.

Shoto didn't meet his eyes, but he didn't exactly expect him to. His older brother was too focused on playing a model student and sitting in his seat nearly twenty minutes before the school day even started. He wasn't the only one either, but Daisuke assumed it was just because of how big the school was. Although Daisuke was used to it's large name and high rank in the heroics field, it was probably brand new for most of these people.

Deciding to sit near the back, Daisuke started heading there, not really sure if he should talk to his brother on the way there or not. No. He'd have time for that later, if he wanted to. For now, he had to scope out the room and look at his competition. He was confident in his own abilities but he wasn't stupid enough to think he was the best just yet. He could prove that in their first training exercise.

Just as he moved to sit down in the chair diagonal to Shoto's, he paused. His eyes couldn't move as they looked at the girl who would be directly behind him. Nothing about her was too special -her hair a jet black color and twisted into a high ponytail, her eyes bright with long lashes and a subtle smile on her lips- but something about her just made him...melt. Her normal features all combined together to make her look so much better than average and it was so captivating, surprising, that he forgot to move for a little while.

It was rude. That much was clear when she looked up at him questioningly, but not unkindly. "Hello." She offered him a bigger smile, though, he could tell she looked nervous. Was that his fault? "I'm guessing we'll meet a lot of new faces, so I'll introduce myself." She cleared her throat before offering a hand. "I'm Momo Yaoyorozu."

He took a moment to swallow before taking her hand. "Daisuke Todoroki." He echoed. They shook for a moment before he finally sat down. He didn't turn to look forward, though. Instead, he sat sideways in his chair and faced her again. "I-"

He was interrupted by another voice. "Daisuke." Shoto stated, as if it were more a fact than a name and the younger boy turned. The two of them locked eyes for a moment. What was with that look? Was he already upset? "Why are you here?"

Rude. "I took the entrance exam and passed." He stated defensively. Why else would he be here? Shoto didn't expect he'd get in through cheating, did he?

"No." He answered just as evenly. "You're a year younger than me. Why are you at UA instead of Middle School?"

Oh. That's what he was asking. Daisuke looked away to calm his temper. Ava would be disappointed if he got into a fight so early. Not that he was really going to be fighting Shoto of all people. At least not physically. "Ava pulled some strings so I could get in early. I was already too good for the Middle School so it only made sense."

Shoto looked at him for another moment before nodding and looking away. His face went back to that angry expression he had before and now that Daisuke was closer, he felt like it was familiar. Where had he seen those dark eyes before?

"You two are brothers?" Momo spoke up and the thought was erased from Daisuke's mind.

"Yeah. I haven't seen him in a little while, so he didn't know I was coming to UA." This was starting to get personal and he wasn't really ready to talk about...everything that happened.

"Oh?" She leaned forward, very interested. "I don't mean to be rude, but don't you live together?"

He paused for a moment. He didn't want to start sharing these things with everyone, even if she did seem friendly. What his mother did still haunted him and even looking at that scar again made him feel sick. "I don't live with him." Was his simple answer and he looked back towards the front of the room. More people were coming in and a small commotion had started near the door. Some blond kid was shouting as a green haired one and-

Wait. That was the kid he saved at the exam, right? And the floating girl too! No way! They got in!

"I'm so sorry!" Daisuke looked back to Yaoyorozu for a moment. "That was probably too personal! I shouldn't have asked about your family life like that!"

Despite the truth in her words, he smiled. "Don't worry about it."

The conversation stopped when their supposed teacher stood at the front of the room, his eyes dark and heavy. He had heard about this teacher from Ava and actually, he was excited. Mr. Aizawa was said to be the harshest teacher in UA and if he was going to learn from anyone, it had to be him!

...

"You won't be going to the ceremony today. You'll show me exactly what you can do with your quirks."

Now, this was not expected. Honestly, Daisuke wasn't too disappointed in skipping out on the opening ceremony. Yes, he'd like a real welcome to the school, confirming that he did get in, but at the same time, this sounded so much more fun! And he was already itching to fight again.

Their teacher explained the rules simply. They'd preform in a number of tests and he's rank each of them on a board. They were allowed to freely use their quirks however they wanted as long as it didn't hurt someone else -lame, that meant there was no real fighting. He encouraged them to do their best but just as that blond kid went up to the square, Aizawa stopped him.

"Also. Whoever scores the worst will be expelled before the school day is over."

There was an uproar. People started shouting, someone screamed, everyone felt unnerved. That was, except for Daisuke and the blond kid. He didn't seem worried at all. That meant that he was either stupid or knew how strong he was. He could make for a good rival, but Daisuke wasn't ready to sell him at the same level just yet. He wanted to see what this kid was going to do first.

"Shut up." Mr. Aizawa snapped. "We're already wasting too much time. Bakugou Katsuki, start."

With that, the blond -Bakugou- pulled his arm back but just as he started swinging it forward, an explosion burst from his palm. The ball went flying and Mr. Aizawa showed the score on his little device. It read that he'd thrown it over 700 meters.

"No way!" One of the other students shouted. "That's crazy!"

"It's probably just because of his quirk. He can't be that good of a throw." Someone whispered but Bakugou must've heard it because he snapped his head around, his eyes wide with rage. Daisuke kind of liked this kid. He wasn't just some push over.

Mr. Aizawa ran through a few others, their scores significantly lower, but it was interesting to see how everyone tried to get the ball as far as possible. Someone used tape to throw it further but it ended up getting stuck on the end anyway. Someone else threw it up and used a bright blue laser coming from their stomach to launch it away. They missed and it fell to the ground just a little ways away. That floating girl got infinity, though, which was very impressive but had less to do with skill.

Finally, it was Daisuke's turn to show off. He stepped to the front, not caring to look back at his audience as he took the ball. He took in a breath, steadying himself and finding his core before pulling the ball back and throwing it. He fueled his throw with a burst of fire, far bigger than any of the ones he used during the entrance exam. It flew away, faster than he could even see and then Mr. Aizawa showed the class, and him, his score.

Over 700 meters, but three digits below Bakugou's. Daisuke cursed quietly. He thought he had gotten further than that!

"This dude is wild!" The tape user shouted, a toothy smile on his face. "I guess Bakugou's got some competition."

"No way!" Bakugou snapped, glaring at him with a very pure anger. Daisuke didn't back down front it. "He's just some chump! I'll kill him here!"

"Shup up. Save your energy for your next tests." Mr. Aizawa sighed as he handed the ball of to the last person. It was the green haired boy from earlier. Diasuke stood at attention as he watched the kid stare at the ball in his hands for a good while. His quirk was powerful, that much had been obvious from the entrance exam, but he also broke his entire body doing it. Daisuke know better than anyone that power always came with a price and if this kid couldn't use his quirk without getting hurt like that again, then he probably just wasn't hero material.

Everyone waited for a moment as Mr. Aizawa suddenly had to speak to him. He wrapped the kid in his scarf -weird- but their conversation was too quiet to hear. Was that his quirk? Moving a scarf around? Daisuke wasn't sure how someone could be a hero with something so simple, especially good enough to get into UA as a teacher. Maybe there were other parts to it?

"Enough of that." His hair fell back onto his shoulder and the scarf retreated. "Go."

The green haired kid looked ahead and pulled his arm back. He hesitated for a moment before throwing it forward and at the last second, the ball burst through the air with incredible speed. Everyone gasped and edged forward, trying to see what he even did. It wasn't clear until he looked back at them with a purple, bruised finger. Gross.

"I did it!" He exclaimed, though, his smile was half twisted with pain. Daisuke didn't let himself get impressed. His theory was right and by the end of this training, he might end up in the hospital. There was no way he'd be a hero like that.

No one even got to see the score before Bakugou blasted forward, shouting every word he seemed to think of as he raged. Daisuke rolled his eyes at the display, but a part of him liked how prickly he was. This kid wasn't worth a fight like that, especially if he got injured from his throw, but then again, the way he called out to the kid by a nickname made this seem more...personal. Did they know each other before?

"Stupid Deku!" Bakugou hissed but he was pulled back before he could hurt anyone. The green haired kid -Deku- cowered in fear and only relaxed once everything was under control.

From there, they moved on to do other physical tests, each of them very typical for a gym class, but these were different from the ones he did in Middle School. They were more like Ava's training tests and his scored all proved that he was already ahead. He'd have to thank her later.

...

The next few days were nearly the same. He ran into a few of class 1-B's students, who all seemed like real jerks -at least the blond one was- but they were easily ignored. If he thought that his own class was far behind, he just had to stare out the window and watch them work. Then again, he couldn't blame them too harshly. Just yesterday, half off the class got stuck in tape and acid from only two certain students. They ended up in a short detention while everyone else got treated for acid burns.

The really interesting lesson, though, was the one with All Might. The man was still impressive to even Daisuke and he got to see him nearly every week thanks to his mentor. Though, he was also the only one in the entire class -maybe even the school, aside from the staff- who knew about his secret. All Might was ill and dying. He remembered hearing Ava talk about it to her brother when they both thought he was asleep. All Might's time was running out and the world had no idea. These kids had no idea.

"We'll split you young heroes into groups of two! Two groups will go against each other at once, one acting as heroes and the other as villains!" All Might's voice filtered back into Daisuke's head. Good, he didn't miss the instructions. "I'll choose those by random, but your jobs are as follows. The villains will get a fake bomb and will try to protect it from the heroes. If the heroes manage to get it out of the building before the time goes up, then they win. If they run out of time, they lose and the entire street gets lit up with flames and death!"

No one spoke after that last comment.

All Might coughed awkwardly, his smile still on. "Anyway. I must advise you to avoid hurting anyone too badly, please. We don't want to rush everyone to Recovery Girl so soon!" Another pause as everyone's eyes went to Bakugou. "Now then! Let us begin!"

The first team was an interesting match up. Deku and Uraraka -the floating girl- as heroes against Bakugou and a kid names Tenya Iida. They all seemed experienced enough for this exercise, which was nice. Daisuke was interested to see how the first team would first together and how Bakugou would react. After a few days, it became very obvious that his aggression against Deku specifically was personal but no one dared to ask about it. Daisuke didn't care enough to risk getting an explosion in the face.

It started out fine, with the heroes rushing through the building to try and find where the bomb was hidden. Then, Deku and Bakugou clashed while Uraraka took care of Iida and the bomb. It wasn't the best plan, since they both had to hold their own against a villain while also watching the clock. It was painful to watch Deku get beaten over and over as he tried to avoid each explosion. His silly mask got ripped up as well but to Daisuke's surprise, All Might never called it off. It could've just been a way to see how the hero team would fair against the odds stacked against them but something about the way All Might watched that single camera closely made Daisuke think.

Ava told him that there was a successor in UA, though. All Might had passed his quirk to someone new, which would only limit him further, but it was necessary. The way his mentor's brother was watching Deku and Bakugou fight...he had to question if one of them was the person he chose. Bakugou didn't seem like a right fit for All Might's powers, but he was pretty strong. It would make sense if he some of what One For All offered...but that Deku kid was strong too. His quirk was incredibly strong but his body couldn't catch up.

He'd have to ask Ava about this later.

"And the heroes win!" All Might announced. "Next group! Shoto Todoroki with Mezo Shoji as heroes! They will go against..." He pulled a letter randomly and read it off. "They'll fight Mashirao Ojiro and Touro Hagakure!"

Daisuke watched this fight with interest. He watched as Shoto stayed back, waiting for the right time to strike. His costume was a strange one, only really hinting that he had an ice quirk, but maybe that was part of his plans? He was hiding his fire until the time was right. But once the Sports Festival came around, he knew Shoto would end up in the finals. He was raised by their father and there was no way he'd end up weak. The whole world would see his fire and then his costume would mean nothing, right?

The heroes ended up beating the second time with an easy, and icy victory. The sheer mass of Shoto's ice was enough to make Daisuke shiver, but he knew that it was no match against his own fire. Now that he was thinking about it, he kind of wanted to test out what his brother could really do, especially if he used his full power. He didn't see even a single spark of fire from his left side.

As more teams passed, Daisuke's turn finally came and it was a blessing. "Daisuke Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu are going to fight as villains against Kyoko Jiro and Denki Kaminari! Get in there, villains and we can start the timer!"

With that, Daisuke headed towards the building with Yaoyorozu by his side. Her hero costume was very different from what he had imagined it. Before, she seemed like such a shy person, but happy to please. Her costume was almost the complete opposite, but then again, he had yet to really nail down her quirk. It had something to do with making items, but was that it? A simple creation quirk seemed a bit too powerful without draw backs. Then again, quirks had been steadily growing more and more powerful.

"Let's hide the bomb somewhere. That way, we can try and defend the most obvious place and mislead them." Yaoyorozu suggested as she started creating something from her stomach. "My quirk allows me to make anything so long as I memorize the molecular structure of it. Good think I have a few items already under my belt." She seemed to be talking more to herself than to him, but he nodded anyway. Was it rude to watch her make things? It wasn't just staring at her if she was using her quirk, right?

"I just have fire." He shrugged but internally winced in response. He probably sounded really lame with just that description, but then again, she must've seen how he excelled earlier. Yeah, she totally saw that.

They both made their way towards the large bomb figure and Daisuke looked it up and down. If the plan was to hide it away and then pretend to be protecting it in a different area, then they'd really have to hide it well. It would remain unguarded and he still had yet to figure out exactly what Jiro and Kaminari could do.

"The timer starts now!" All Might's voice rang through the air and Yaoyorozu began working. She grabbed onto it but didn't lift. Instead, she pushed some kind of cart underneath it and began wheeling it away.

"While I go hide this, pick a room to defend and stay there. I'll come to you once it's hidden." She shouted over her shoulder and Daisuke didn't hesitate for a moment before propelling himself into the next room.

Most rooms were the same so he decided to pick the furthest one from their bomb and stood in wait. The moment he heard even a noise, he'd rush out and protest this empty room like his life depended on it. And he'd probably enjoy cracking a new bones while he was at it.

"This way! I can hear him!" A higher voice rang out and Daisuke moved. He started barreling towards the hall but before he could even step out, a charge of electricity popped. He gasped but managed to slide away in time to avoid it. Both students stared at him in shock at his reflexes, but he didn't let them recover. With fire on his fists, he charged, a wicked smile on his face.

"You think that can stop me?! You heroes sure are pathetic!" He laughed before spiraling at them and hit both in the stomach. They both doubled over, Jiro especially, but she managed to dig one of her headphones into the concrete below. Then, a shock wave ripped through the ground and he nearly stumbled with the unexpected motion. So she can control air waves, or something? The other was definitely the electricity user, just telling by his outfit.

"Not so fast, Villain!" Kaminari shouted as he stood, only to get swept off of his feet by the waves. Jiro gasped in shock at what she had done and the movement stopped. This gave Daisuke the change to hit them both again, knocking them onto the walls to his sides.

A net sprang out and captured Kaminari in it. Yaoyorozu gave him a proud look before standing boldly. He liked how confidence looked on her. "Kneel before us, you evil doers!" She gave a horrible evil laugh. "You'll never stop our plans."

Jiro glared at her from where she was laying on the floor. She didn't seem too into this whole pretending thing, which was a shame, but it wasn't like they had to pretend in order to get a good grade. All Might was probably going to be really lenient anyway. He always tended to stress about being too harsh on others.

An earphone jack plugged into the ground again, but before any waves could start up again, he was on her. He pulled the earphone jack out -why did the cord feel like flesh?!- and pinned her shoulders to the ground. Yoayorozu started making another net as they waited. How much time was left? He felt like they had to be getting close, right?

"Stupid move, villains." Jiro chortled and suddenly, the entire hall lit up with electricity. Daisuke felt every muscle in his body tense up as he tried to resist a scream. His brain couldn't control his body anymore but it only lasted a few moments. Daisuke felt the concrete hit him in the side and he panted softly. His eyes wandered towards Kaminari, who was wearing a stupid expression and pushing his thumbs forward. He was drooling too.

"Wha..." He coughed, still feeling his nerves zap off ever so often. Nearly all of his body was numb now, but he could still move. He pushed his chest away from the ground and hated how his arms shook. He was stronger than this.

Yaoyorozu was down, as well as Jiro, who had gotten caught up in the cross fire. At first, his heart raced with panic as he checked Jiro's neck for a pulse. No way would All Might let these students just die, right?

He let out a sigh of relief when he felt her heart pounding, but she was probably too numb to even move. He dragged himself towards Yaoyorozu and came to the same conclusion. Crap. He should've been watching the other kid more. He thought that net might've been able to block out his quirk somehow, but even that was likely above his partner's abilities.

Before he could think to get up, the timer rang and All Might's voice came back. "Time as run out! The villains win! Now can someone please help them out!" Daisuke smiled at the hero's worried voice. He probably would've stepped in had anything worse happened. Daisuke was strong enough to handle a situation like that on his own, though, he didn't really do much protecting. He'd have to work on that. There's no way he'd let some idiot catch him off guard like that again.

Until then, he could spend the rest of the day sleeping in bed to get rid of the numb feeling in his body.

Author's Notes: Hello! Here's another chapter! I like how this turned out with Daisuke going against Jiro and Kaminari with Momo. I'm excited to know more about his character as this story progresses and how he'll befriend other people in the class. Also, in this, I decided that Mineta doesn't exist or he just never got into UA. It makes more sense to completely get rid of him and replace him with Daisuke than to figure out how to add in a 21st student.
