...

The screen depicted a two-story house with a black car in front of it with the lights inside the first and second floors turned on. "It'll be great, no, awesome, SUPER awesome, just try it." A voice that sounded like it was over a phone urged someone else.

"Huh, like right now?" A girl with fair skin, black hair that had an ahoge on it, cool grey eyes, and wearing light pink and white pajamas asked the owner of that voice.

"Of course, you got everything, right?" The same voice asked from over a small phone in her hands.

"Huh, what is this?" James wondered.

"Looks like we're starting things slow with a talk between friends." Velvet noted.

"It would seem so." Willow said, wondering where this was going.

"Pardon me for asking, but who is this girl and the one she's talking to?" Roman asked.

"The girl on-screen right now is referred to as Kaeda Honjou, while the girl she's communicating with is named Risa Shiramina." Riaze answered.

Everyone was confused by the names and how they sounded. "Kaede and Risa?" Yang repeated.

"Weird names." Ruby commented.

"I mean, yeah, it's all here, but I kinda thought you were going to play too." Kaede admitted to Risa.

"You know my mom." Risa said as her face appeared on-screen revealing her to have ash brown eyes and long hair. "She said I gotta focus on studying so for tonight, I can't," She raised her hand up to her face as she continued. "But feel free to start without me, I'll catch up in no time flat." Risa promised Kaede.

"Play?" Nora noticed the word.

"Start what, exactly?" Ren asked.

"In this world there's a video game that this viewing is centered around, called NewWorld Online, it's where you'll see the skills of this world's characters portrayed." Riaze answered.

"This universe is centered around a video game?" Weiss asked.

"Seriously, who'd want to bother watching something like this about some handheld game." Blake asked.

"Who ever SAID that it was a handheld game?" Riaze asked.

"Huh?" Blake blinked at that along with the rest of the students from Beacon.

"Risa, the water's ready for your bath!" Risa's mother called out to her.

"'Kay!" Risa responded. "I gotta run, anyway you've totally got this, go kick some butt, I'm sure you'll be awesome." Risa said with confidence clear in her voice as she cut off the call.

"She's very passionate about gaming, huh?" Neo asked sweatdropping.

"Yes, but for good reason." Riaze told her.

"And that being?" Harriet asked.

"You'll see." Riaze told her.

"Hey, hold on, Risa!" Kaede pleaded until she fully took in that Risa was gone. "Maaaann, I barely even touched a game in my entire life, let alone played one." Kaede muttered as the screen depicted the game in question.

The game was in a cardboard box that was on Kaede's bed, and the game box containing it had 'VR software' along the top and 'NewWorld Online' on the front cover.

"Wait, what does 'VR software' mean?" James asked.

"Don't worry, I'll explain it as soon as we get to it." Riaze reassured the general.

"I hope so." Marrow muttered.

"And let's be honest, I only bought this game because Risa said too." Kaede told herself as she sighed. "It's just so hard to say no when she gets that sparkly look in her eyes." She told herself.

"I'm guessing there was a bit of peer pressure cracking down on her?" Coco asked.

"Seems so." Yang said in response.

Kaede walked over to a VR headset that was on a small stand, which consisted of a black helmet that covered her eyes and a pair of white, grey, and black gloves, and slid the gloves onto her hands before putting the helmet on. "Oh well, time to set this stuff up." Kaede said as the game started booting up, as signaled by a grey line on the helmet lighting up with a blue color.

"Wait, what's with the headgear?" Roman asked.

"That's a VR headset, it allows the user to 'transport' their consciousness to a virtual reality of certain varieties, in this case, it's the virtual reality video game 'New World Online'." Riaze answered.

"Virtual reality video game?" Winter repeated.

"As in a video game-like reality that's made up of data and not necessarily real." Clover asked.

"It can be as real as you think it is, but I highly doubt that Atlas is going to invest in something so seemingly trivial to them, right." Riaze asked the people of Atlas. "My master's words, not mine." The familiar added.

James, the Schnee family, and the Ace Ops all looked to each other as the general of Atlas sighed. "Well, it probably would disconnect people from reality." James defended.

Riaze's eyes widened at that somewhat reasonable answer. "You're not wrong, there are some dimensions where the concept of VR games ended up leading to the death of innocent people." He told them, shocking everyone present, even people like Adam and Cinder. "Cough, SAO, cough!" Riaze sarcastically coughed out that last part.

"Wait, seriously?" Cinder asked.

"People can die from VR video games?" Adam asked.

"That's slightly humiliating." Sienna commented.

"Trust me, if you saw it first hand, you'd be sorry for those poor saps." Riaze told them.

Kaede's vision was covered in black as a loading screen appeared before her sight, as the logo for New World Online appeared in her vision next, then the screen zoomed in on the logo as a wall of data appeared and disappeared, then showed the words 'New World Online' before everything went white.

The screen immediately depicted Maple in a large space with white and blue cubes all over the place, with light blue lines on their tops or center areas of them.

As for Kaede herself, she was now wearing a yellow shirt and a brown skirt with black shorts underneath, and her legs had black knee-length socks and brown boots on them.

She was currently facing a small screen that depicted a bunch of keys under a line with the word name below it. "Gotta pick a name, huh?" Kaede noted as she pondered what name she should use. "I suppose I could use my real one, but I don't know." Kaede said to herself.

Ruby clicked her tongue. "Bad idea, using your real name in a video game is a bad idea, people might be able to put things together about you if you do that." Ruby commented on that.

"Make that the truth." Yang agreed.

"What to do?" Kaede thought out loud, until she had an idea. "That's it, I'll just use the English word for my real name." She decided as she punched in the word of her choosing. "Kaede equals Maple." She said as she confirmed it.

"Her name means maple?" Cinder asked.

"Indeed, her homeland is that of a country where people tend to have names that mean something else when connected to different languages." Riaze explained.

"Will we learn more about this naming convention in our time here?" Oobleck asked.

"If you want that." Riaze confirmed.

"There, one step down." She said as the screen disappeared, then all of the sudden she was surrounded by holograms of different types of weapons. "Oh, next up is starting equipment?" She asked herself as she looked at the options. "A one-handed sword, a mace and a staff?" She said, having a hard time choosing a weapon type.

"What? No scythes?" Ruby asked.

"Doesn't look like it." Jaune answered.

"Not everything has to be about certain weapon types, Ruby." Tai told his daughter.

"Well, I've never been that great when it comes to hand-eye coordination." Kaede reminded herself. "And besides, I don't want to get hurt, I should just avoid getting hit, right?" She said to herself. "Maybe I should just pick the staff and be a wizard."

"This kid would not make that great a huntress if she doesn't want to get hurt by anything." Roman deadpanned.

"Believe it or not, I agree with you, damage to one's self is bound to happen at some point, so her being a huntress isn't that good an idea." Glynda said, agreeing with the crime lord.

Kaede then saw a weapon type that intrigued her. It was a short sword that could be seen in front of a large shield, she brought up the information on the weapon type and saw the description. "The Greatshield is terrible for offense, but number one in defense." Kaede read. "Wait, does that mean that if I raise my defense enough I won't take damage?" Kaede exclaimed.

"Sounds like the girl's found her weapon." Qrow said.

"That does sound like a good strategy, but is she going to dedicate her time in this game entirely to defense?" James wondered.

"That's my jam, sign me up." Kaede declared as she chose the Greatshield and shortsword option, which caused a chart followed by her character's stats appearing before her alongside a chart. "I have to distribute status points now?" Kaede wondered. "Well, might as well put everything straight into defense." She said as she put all of her status points into the vitality stat, causing it to go up to 100.

Everyone who had some knowledge of video games looked at the general of Atlas. "That's a yes to your question, general." Ruby told him.

"I get she doesn't want to get hurt, but seriously?" Yang asked.

"That's one ludicrous strategy." Jaune deadpanned.

"There, that should do it." Kaede said to herself as the screen disappeared, then all of the sudden, cubes of data started rising up from the ground below her as she closed her eyes and smiled while lightly chuckling, she then disappeared in a silent dispersal of data as the screen went white.

(Author's Note: When Kaede is playing the game, she will be referred to as Maple, her in game identity, which will be the same for any other characters in who play the game as well)

When she opened her eyes, Maple found herself amazed by the sight before her.

She was currently in a town with a natural aesthetic to it, the houses that were there mainly had a wooden appearance to their infrastructure, and behind Maple was a large tree with orbs of light orbiting around it that was surrounded by a small pond with rocks in it, with there being were people in the town with different styles of clothing, and above the town were islands floating in the sky.

Everyone was shocked by the realism in the town's look, but they're amazed by the fact that there were floating islands in the sky above the town.

"Incredible." Ozpin muttered.

"It may just be a virtual reality, but it's breathe-taking nonetheless." Ren said.

"Indeed." Pyrrha agreed.

"Wow, VRMMO's sure have come a long way, haven't they?" Maple asked no one in particular as she began to walk forward, only to realize… she was moving really slow compared to the other players in the game at the moment.

"Why is she moving so slow?" Ruby asked.

"Well, she did put everything she had into her defense stat or whatever, so maybe that has something to do with it." Oscar theorized.

"What? I'm slow. But why?" Maple brought up her stats to see the problem. "Huh, vitality was defense, right? So strength is power, and agility must be speed." Maple thought to herself.

"She was so focused on defense, she completely forgot to take movement speed into account." Whitley noted with a hand on his face.

"This may not bode well for her." Winter grimaced.

"Oh no, I'm stuck in turtle mode because I have zero agility points." Maple said shocked before sweatdropping. "What should I do? I guess I could try to redo it since Risa's not here." Maple debated on what to do for about five minutes until... "Oh well, I already made the character, time to fight monsters and get strong." Maple declared.

"Guess she's going to have to deal with what she's got, huh?" Qrow asked.

"Certainly looks like it." Marrow said.

"I wonder where they keep the monsters?" Maple wondered until a blonde girl only a little taller than her walked near her. "Hi there, excuse me?" The blond simply ignored her and kept walking, but Maple was persistent. "Excuse me, miss." Maple said louder this time.

That got the girls attention as she turned to face Maple. "What's up?" She asked.

"Well that was rude." Willow commented on the blonde girl's action of ignoring Maple.

"Well, she looks like a experience player, maybe it's a superiority complex or something." Qrow theorized.

"Oh goody, an Atlasian rich person type complex." Yang groaned.

"The worst kind of person." Adam and Sienna muttered.

"Well I was hoping to maybe fight some monsters, but I have no idea where I should go to find them." Maple told the girl as said girl examined her outfit.

"Oh, you must be a newbie." The girl realized. "There are some easy monsters in the forest to the west." She said as she pointed in that direction, to which Maple looked. "It's a good spot to raise your level when your just starting out." She told her. "All you have to do is stand around and the critters will bring the fight to you." The girl informed Maple.

"Well, at least she answered her truthfully." Kali noted.

"Hopefully, she doesn't run into trouble." Ghira hoped.

"Or slowly walk into it, considering her speed." Roman joked before laughing a little.

"Thank you for the advice, I'll check it out." Maple thanked her while bowing as she began to walk off in that direction.

"Go get 'em." The girl wished her luck as a male player much taller than her walked up to her.

"What's up, Frederica?" The large guy asked the girl, apparently named Frederica.

"Oh, hey Drag." Frederica greeted the guy, who was about six foot tall in height, and was wearing battle armor. "Nothing much, I was just telling a new player about a good place to do some level grinding." Frederica told him.

"Wow, he isn't as tall as Yatsuhashi, but he's still pretty tall." Velvet commented.

"You got that right." Coco agreed.

"Yeah?" Drag asked as she faced Maple. "Sure are a lot of players these days." Drag noted. "Whatever let's get going." He told her. "Look Payne's already here." Drag pointed a thumb towards a tree behind them, which hid a man covered head to toe in blue and white armor, with blue cape wrapped around his shoulders, and his face out of view.

"Wow, nice armor." Ruby marveled at how the armor of the mysterious man looked.

"It does look tough, and cool as well." Coco commented.

"I'd expect nothing less coming from him." Frederica said.

Maple was currently walking at a slow pace compared to everyone else, which she took notice of immediately. "Everyone else is walking so fast." Maple muttered. "They probably assigned their points more evenly." She added until she faced ahead of her path and smiled. "Hah, that must be the forest." Maple said as she went in.

Within the forest, Maple was walking down a path until she stopped. "Okay, this spot looks as good as any." Maple said to herself.

"Looks like we'll get to see some sort of action." Cinder muttered.

"Time to see how combat in virtual reality works." James added.

"Hey there, monsters, come out come out, wherever you are!" Maple exclaimed.

Immediately after, she heard rustling in the bushes nearby, she held her shield up in front of her, ready for what may come out... Until a monster that looked like a rabbit with a red and light green ear-like crest on it's head, green feet, and a green tail popped out of the bushes with a squeak, and then turned to Maple.

Most of the girls in the room had the same reaction. "IT'S SO CUTE!"

Cinder, Emerald, Winter, and Glynda merely blushed at the sight of the monster. "It's adorable." They thought to themselves.

"Oh my gosh, I can't we have something like that on Remnant?" Willow asked with hearts where her eyes should be.

"I WANT ONE!" Nora screamed.

"That's a monster worth not killing." Yang said pointing at the screen.

"Yeah, it is pretty adorable." Jaune added.

"Indeed." Ren agreed.

"IT LOOKS LIKE A JELLYBEAN!" Ruby squealed, adoring the monsters appearance.

"It's so cute." Maple said, but immediately after, the monster started running in circles with narrowed eyes, and then started charging at Maple using the momentum. "Wait, it's charging?" Maple exclaimed in confusion as the monster rammed into her stomach. "Huh?" And it leapt off, landing back on the ground. "OUCH!" Maple recoiled in slight pain, or what she thought was pain, as she felt her stomach.

"Wait." She smiled when she realized that she barely took any damage. "Oh cool, that didn't hurt, 128 vitality for the win."

"Seriously, I know that it's a weak looking monster, but defense that high at such a low level is just lunacy." Roman commented.

"Well, if it works, it works out." Yang said in response.

"Do you like my abs of steel, buster?" Maple asked the monster pompously, while said monster was running in circles to tackle her again, only to get the same results as the first time. "Hehe, this doesn't hurt one bit." Maple snarked at the bunny-like monster tackled her again, this cycle repeated with Maple literally cheering the bunny monster on.

"You've got to be kidding me right now." Weiss facepalmed.

"Well she can't do just that forever." Sun said.

"Yeah, she'll stop at some point." Neptune said with confidence.

(One hour later...)

"SHE'S BEEN AT THAT FOR AN HOUR!" The two of them shouted.

"Put your back into it, are you even trying?" Maple asked the monster as kept charging at her, to no effect.

"How do you play a game where you're meant to slay monsters, yet not want to kill a certain kind of monster?" Neo asked.

"If only the Grimm were that weak." Blake muttered.

"Yeah, if only." Whitley agreed with the Faunus.

Suddenly, a sound was heard as Maple raised her hand up. "Can you hold on just a second?" Maple asked the monster as she checked a pop up in front of her, saying 'SKILL' she opened it to reveal that she had acquired a skill.

"2x vitality?" Maple read the description of the skill as she did the math in her head. "In other words, I have 256 vitality now?" Maple wondered.

"Are you kidding me, and she hasn't even grown a level since she started?" Velvet asked, familiar with how video games worked.

"This kids going to be a monster, I just know it." Neo said.

"And all I did was play with Mr. Bunny for an hour." Maple said to herself. "Alright, I'm ready, sorry about that." Maple apologized to the monster, who had begun to ram into her again, with zero results coming from it again.

Roman's fingers were twitching rapidly as he facepalmed. "How can a KID be this stupidly floaty and secretly sadistic at the same time?" Roman asked.

"Just put the little guy out of his misery already." Coco begged.

"At least pretend to feel pain or some junk like that." Ruby exclaimed, feeling bad for the monster.

"You'd think that the monster would be tired by now." Weiss said.

"It's a video game, that probably only applies to people." Jaune theorized.

The monster charged at her one more time, only for Maple to see some birds fly off, causing her to put her shield in front of the monsters path, making it fall back and squeak in pain. "What happened?" Maple asked as the monster landed on it's back and disappeared into pixels. "Oh, what have I done?!" Maple asked in sorrow.

A screen popped up in front of Maple, saying that she'd leveled up to level 2. "MR. BUNNY!" Not that she cared.

Everyone in the theater sighed at how she took the destruction of the monster. "She leveled up and she didn't care." Jaune muttered.

"I feel like this girl could survive in Remnant with her defense, but at the exact same time..." The general of Atlas finished Winter's sentence.

"She wouldn't survive because of her innocent nature, right?" James asked her.

"Exactly." Winter sighed.

"Well, it's always good for a girl like her to have some character." Port commented, defending Maple's actions.

Maple was walking down a forest path as she was sad about the cute monster's demise. "I wasn't even trying to beat him." Maple muttered, until she noticed something about her stats. "Looks like I have five new status points I can use." She noted. "I guess it sort of makes sense for me to just focus on raising my defense." Maple thought.

"She id dead set on not getting hurt, huh?" Tai asked.

"And not hurt others if they're cute, if that 'fight' with the bunny monster was anything to take into account." Neo commented.

"On that, we agree." Yang said.

"Here's goes nothing, more vitality." Maple said as she put the five status points into her vitality stat. "Don't wanna get hurt, right?" She pushed the enter button, adding her status points to her already high defense.

She continued walking down the path. "I wonder what other kinds of monsters there are around here, I really don't want to fight anything that's super cute again, so here's hoping that the next monster's kinda ugly." Maple hoped, at least until she heard some buzzing from behind her, she turned around to see a large bee flying at her.

The bee itself had a blue and black body with black appendages, and yellow fuzz around it's neck, it also had a black face with blue spots surrounding it's black and red eyes, an orange furry crest on it's forehead, and white wings on it's back. "EH, it's huge!" Maple yelped in panic as she ducked below the bee's dive.

"Oh boy, a giant bee." Ruby nervously gulped, not wanting to deal with a bee that large.

"You realize that Lancer's are a thing back on Remnant, right?" Velvet asked her.

That made Ruby stop for a moment and think about the insect-like Grimm, making her sigh in a fit of sadness.

Maple began running from the monster, only for it to quickly catch up due to her low speed, it then bumped into the back of her head, but to no effect in the end. "Wait, that didn't hurt." Maple realized as the monster kept ramming into her person, only to yield the same results every time. "Ehehe, hey, quit it, that tickles." Maple said.

Qrow facepalmed, at the girl's floaty personality. "Oh, what's next?" Qrow asked.

It was at that moment where the Bee reared back and then spat a splotch of dark green sludge onto Maple's shoulder. "OW!" Maple yelped.

"Huh?" Everyone got intrigued by this.

"Did she just..." Weiss finished Whitley's thought.

"Feel pain?" Weiss asked.

The sludge then turned into a cloud of green gas as Maple's health bar was shown to be decreasing slowly, but surely.

"Poison status." Cinder noted.

"A weakness in her impenetrable defense, it would seem." Leonardo observed.

"Looks like it." Yang agreed.

"Shoot, I don't have any poison defense." Maple started actually getting worried as the Bee kept wailing on her with the same sludge, causing her health to rapidly decrease.

"Maybe now she'll take this game a tiny bit more seriously, instead of fawning over the bunnies." Roman hoped.

"Well it was a cute looking bunny." Neo said in defense of Maple.

"Maybe, but still, if this were combat against me, she'd eventually lose somehow." Roman told Neo.

"I won't deny that, with out slow she is, she could be easily restrained at least." Tai said.

"See." Roman said pointing at Roman.

"Time for a tactical retreat." Maple shouted as she booked it in down the pathway, only for the bee to spray her with more poisonous sludge and driving her onto her knees in exhaustion.

Only for a notice to appear in front of her, telling her that her poison resistance was increasing. "How cool, getting hit by attacks can build up my poison resistance, yeah." Maple said before getting an idea.

"Oh no, I can't go on." Maple said in fake panic as she lied on the ground groaning.

The bee came back around and sprayed her with more poisonous sludge repeatedly, until Maple got another of the same notice. "Yes." Maple muttered. "I'm totally gaining immunity to it's toxic attacks." She thought.

"And the weakness is getting dashed." Roman sighed.

"Hey, she's just having fun, give her a break, would you!" Ruby snapped at Roman's pessimistic attitude towards Maple.

"If it makes you feel better, she gets a tad bit more serious in the future." Riaze told him.

Roman looked at the host and sighed. "If you say so." The crime lord of Vale responded.

"No, it got me." Maple yelled out before playing dead, causing the bee to glow slightly and charge at her, only for Maple to unsheathe her shortsword and hold it forward. "HAH, got you, sucker." She declared as the bee's head became impaled on the blade of her shortsword, causing the bee to go limp and disappear into pixels soon after.

"Ouch, brutal." Jaune winced.

"What a finish, I dare say." Port said with a small laugh.

"Indeed, I've seen some huntsman in my day finish Grimm off in the same fashion, but never with a shortsword like that." Oobleck noted.

A ring with a face of the defeated bee fell onto the ground immediately after. "I beat it." Maple celebrated with her arms in the air. "Everyone hail the mighty warrior princess!" Maple ordered to no one in particular.

"Seriously, it's a bee no bigger that a dog, and she's already got an ego the size of Ursa?" Winter complained.

"It is her first battle in the game won on purpose, she just wants to bask in the glory." Port defended her attitude.

"Maybe, but even Ruby wouldn't go around declaring herself 'A mighty warrior princess' after taking down a Beowulf." Weiss said with air quotes.

"She's not wrong." Yang and Ruby confirmed.

"Good." Roman thought, not wanting to deal with anymore words in defense of Maple.

Author's note: See what I did there?

"It was a tough fight, but I did it, hah, wicked monsters are no match for me." Maple went on pompously. "My acting was just too god for it's pea brain." Maple then got more notifications as she then picked up the ring that fell on the ground.

"Huh, this is a rare item, gives +6 to Vitality, oh, and it'll recover your HP if you wear it." Maple said as she slipped the ring onto her finger.

"She's becoming more seemingly broken by the minute and it's only her first day playing the game." Nora simply said.

"Indeed, she's most certainly becoming stronger," Ren sweatdropped.

"Looks like I got fifteen more status points." Maple noted. "Might as well put those into Vitality too, right?" Maple asked herself, until she brought up a description for another skill she had obtained. "And Giant Killing?" She wondered as she looked at the skill's description.

"That sounds powerful." Pyrrha said, unaware of the skill's effects.

"Yeah, wonder what it does." Neo said in wonder herself.

"Okay, guess that kind of thing is active all the time." Maple said as she did the math in her head. "If I add it together with the total defense from earlier..." And she reached her answer. "Four times?!" Maple exclaimed.

Are you kidding me!" Jaune exclaimed. "She's turning into a more durable shield than an ACTUAL shield!" The blonde said in anguish when he saw the numbers on the screen, which was little over 600.

"You got that right, if I had that defense, my semblance could unbeatable to... some... extent." Yang said, until she realized what Riaze meant earlier. "Wait, is getting powers like this what you meant?" Yang asked to Riaze himself.

"Indeed, sit through each of these viewings, and you'll gains powers beyond Remnant's comprehension." Riaze answered.

Everyone was enamored by this answer, being so powerful in defense that you'll barely feel any pain at all, sounds like a dream beyond imagining.

"Interesting..." Cinder hummed as Riaze looked back at the screen but turned his eyes back at her for a moment.

"I pray that the master's prediction is correct." Riaze thought.

Maple laid down on the ground of the forest while softly laughing to herself. "What a crazy day." Maple said as she began to doze off, completely unaware of the monsters that were swarming around her and began attacking her, all while she was asleep.

Everyone in the theater had their dropped at the sight before them. "She's... sleeping." Ruby said.

"Yeah, while a bunch of monsters are attacking her." Blake added.

"Yes." James confirmed, while rubbing his eyes to make sure that her wasn't seeing things.

"Imagine if this girl was psychotic and wanted to turn Remnant into a crater or something." Roman thought aloud, as the majority of the people in the room paled at the thought of this soon to be invincible girl actively tryi0ng to destroy Remnant's way of life.

"It'd be like Salem only more despairing to some capacity." Ozpin thought to himself.

"That'd be a nightmare come to life." Ruby muttered.

A man decked out in red armor with a large red and white shield on his back was walking by as he saw Maple asleep while attacked by monsters. He looked at Maple, and tilted his head to the side. "Uh... what the heck's going on there?" He wondered aloud.

"An invincible juggernaut of doom taking a nap, that's what's happening." Nora joked.

That was when Hazel had a thought. "Her high defense is almost akin to my Numbing Agent semblance, only a lot more passive." He thought, as his semblance still required aura to be in effect, but this girl doesn't need any of that, and only needs to be in a video game to experience it.

"The sky above the forest Maple was cut to an sunset as Maple was stirred from her sleep by a notification. "Huh?" Maple's eyes opened as she looked at the notification itself. "Meditation, when used restores 1% of max HP in 10 seconds, the effect lasts ten minutes, under requirements, it says while being under attack..." That was when Maple realized something was off with the description. "Hold up... WHILE BEING UNDER ATTACK?!" Maple asked as she examined her person, only to find monster STILL attacking her.

The people in the theater facepalmed at the girl's short sidedness, even if it didn't have her take damage due to her defense.

"If it weren't for her insane defense, she be defeated at least." Ghira noted.

"If she were in real life without her defense, she'd be dead." Kali said begrudgingly.

"You got that right." Adam agreed.

Maple screamed in panic as she began swinging her shortsword at the monsters rapidly. "NONONONONONO!" Maple screamed quickly as she continued swinging her weapon, not getting any results. "GET AWAY, GET AWAY, GET AWAY!" She continued screaming.

"Seriously, even I can swing a sword better than her." Jaune said with a deadpanned look on her face as the rest of team JNPR nodded.

"You got that right." Coco agreed with him as Velvet nodded.

Maple was sweating bullets after she'd gotten rid of all the monsters, getting a new notification saying that she'd leveled up and had gotten a new skill. "That was crazy, but I learned a new skill, so in a weird way kinda worth it." Maple said as she caught her breath. "Oh, that's cool I got another ten status points." She added, noticed the points she had obtained. "Into Vitality you go." She said.

"You know I think I did pretty good for my first day." Maple thought aloud. "I should probably log off for now." Maple said to herself as she pressed the log off button.

"You mean she's done playing for now?" Glynda asked.

"Yeah, but don't worry, this is only the first episode, there's more to see than just this." Riaze told them.

"Oh joy..." Neo sighed, wondering how much stronger this girl is going to get.

She began turning into a series of blue pixels as she logged off from the game. Returning her consciousness to the real world, as the lights on her VR helmet dimmed out.

She took of the helmet and sighed as she giggled a little. "That was so much fun." Kaede said until she looked at the real world time, which was 12:30 AM. "No way, it's already that late." Kaede panicked. "Oh no, I had tons of homework to do." She said as the view cut to the outside of her house.

The screen faded to black, soon after a series of comments were shown on screen.

"And that's the first part of the first episode, what do you think so far?" Riaze asked the audience.

"I think that this girl ought to take combat more seriously." Winter commented.

"Yeah, if it weren't for ludicrous defense she'd be defeated." Willow added.

"I don't know, her personality sort of reminds me of Ruby in a way." Yang said.

"But still, with the way she fights back when ambushed like at the end of the episode, and with how she's willing to sleep in a monster infested forest, even I wouldn't do something like that." Jaune said.

"I think she need some upgraded equipment quite frankly." Coco said. "That starting gear isn't all that flattering, if you ask me." She finished.

"That's you primary concern?" Sun asked.

"How about we continue and see the rest of this episode." Ozpin asked.

"Good idea." Riaze said before snapped his fingers and the screen lit up again.

"Hopefully we get to see some more powerful monsters in this game of hers." Port hoped.

...

And there it is, the first half of the first episode of BOFURI.

Sorry it took so long for me to publish, I had A BUTT TON Of things going on in my personal life, what with MY NEW JOB THAT TAKES UP THE MAJORITY OF MY WEEK'S HOURS, and more personal things like my gaming time, and the fact that I have a new gaming PC that I'm hoping to put to good use, the past few months of my life up until now have been swamped with miscellaneous stuff scattered all over it.

But regardless, I'm hoping that the way this chapter came out meets your fancy, and that you like it.

But a fair warning, the next chapter I publish is not going to be for this chapter, which leads me into a mechanic that I'm incorporating into my main profile, where I'll post on there what my net chapter (or chapterSSSSS) is going to be, where in the case of the next two is going is going to be a chapter for my Future Card Buddyfight x RWBY fanfic as well as a brand new fanfic, brought to you by "The Multiversal Writer" right here on this website, which is going to be under lock and key level top secret, until it comes out, so stay tuned.
