Hot tears ran down the face of the normally proud Gryffindor.

"You can stop trying James, I know we will never be together and I think deep down you know it too. Besides" She took a deep breath, "Severus and I are together and you really can't try to stop this now"

He just sat there with his face in his hands, his heart burning with different feelings. Anger, Pain, Sadness, Embarrassment, Hopeless. He was normally strong and proud (Lilly would say selfish and arrogant) and now he was crying like a little boy who got his sweets taken from him.

"I think that maybe we can be friends though but I really think we should fix some things that are happening between us and you and Severus"

James hated her for saying that but even he knew she was right. He had been a complete prat to her friend-now-lover for years for no particular reason other than the obvious, he liked Lilly and even that wasn't enough of a reason to be considered. He sighed but didn't he was still the same old prideful and stubborn James Potter he could never give her the satisfaction of nodding, but he did agree.

"Maybe we take baby steps and you just ignore Severus and his existence and maybe we can spend some time together to get to know each other as friends, but you have to remember James we do not have a chance at ever being together so please don't think I will ever leave Severus and come to you" She said, Lilly had to put down some ground rules first. She wanted Jame's teasing to stop and she wanted him to stop pursuing her, so maybe being his friend would stop that. Just then she had a wonderful idea. Maybe James would like Petunia. James was most certainly her sister's type. And Petunia was basically a copy and paste of Lilly but with blonde hair instead of red. She didn't mind if it didn't work but it would definitely be nice to have everyone being civil to each other for once. James continued to just stare down. Lily took pity on him and moved herself over to his bench. Then much to James Potter's surprise she gave him a hug. Not a long one, kind of more of a quick squeeze.

"You're right," he said. Lily knew that even this 'your right' was alot for him. James Potter never liked admitting when he was wrong.

"Ok well school almost over maybe if we are all civil for the next month you can come to my home a few times for lunch." Lily suggested.

"Ok" there was a pregnant pause. "Thank you" he said quickly before getting up and rushing to the boys dorm rooms.

The next week had passed uneventfully with no sign of any mean behavior from potter and his gang to Severus and Lily. Well not completely uneventful. Severus and Lily had begun to kiss more. That had spiked thoughts of Lily in Severus's mind and before he had gone to sleep that night he had imagined her lips hoping to have a dream about kissing her. He did dream about kissing her that was sure and true.

Rings of motion in the water spread out from the body in the middle of the pond, the slim body of a woman. It was easy to recognize who was there wading in the water. Her long red hair was wet and shining. Pale skin covered her slightly curved body and like the glimmering stars her body was speckled with freckles going down from her shoulder blades and all the way down her back. SHe moved her hands in circles in the water, her face turned away from him. Severus just stood there looking. She turned and looked at him over her shoulder before completely turning to show the front of her body to him. She slowly and gracefully wades through the water to him and he watches. The way her perfectly rounded breasts bounce slightly. She has a small chest and it is beautiful to him. So smooth and soft with pointed nipples. He could sense the obvious arousal from her as well as himself. WHen he glanced down at his body he found himself without a shirt and just his cotton night pants on. The little bulge that was always in his intimate areas was now a more prominent bulge and he knew that it was because of the beautiful women in front of him that it was there. She kept wading closer to hima and soon her bare wet skin touched his bare dry chest. Their lips met and hands began to roam. He ran his fingers all the way down the middle of her back making her gasp and the gentle tingling sensation. Her lips stayed on his as she ran her hand down his chest and across his hips before slowly threading her fingers through the small line of hair on his belly. Her dainty fingers slipped under the elastic band of his underwear and down.

Severus Snape woke quickly and gasped. It had felt like he was falling and he had woken up just in time. He could remember his dream in color and feelings and it made him embarrassed. He layed back down and attempted to fall back asleep but there was a wet feeling on his legs and lower belly. He knew what that was it was stupid of him to let himself go this far. This had only happened to him once before and it only happened when he left himself without a release for too long. He stripped himself of his pants and underwear, picked up his wand and quietly whispered 'scourgify' to clean the gross sticky mess. He knew one of his dorm mates had heard him whisper the spell because someone from behind him snickered.

"Oh shut up" He whispered behind him, it wasn't like that boy had never been in this same situation before. He placed his wand back down on the nightstand and cuddled up in his dark green covers once again.

Lilly saw Severus at breakfast that day and before he could sit over at his house table she went up and kissed him. He went through with the surprise show of affection but as soon as they broke apart he looked at her surprised and asked,

"What about that plan we had with keeping us secret till next year?"

"Plans have changed and met me in the room of requirement later so we can talk about it… I love you" she said before she breezed off to her house table where she sat James and his group of friends which confused the potion adept Slytherian greatly. However he brushed it off and sat down at his table to eat some eggs and bacon while reading his book. However Lily had decided that if she really wanted James to stop teasing Severus she would have to spend at least a little bit of time with him. So she sat with him and his group at breakfast.

"Jamiekins did you finally get your girl!?" Sirius asked laughing and poking his best friend in the arm.

"Guys you know what's happening don't make me repeat myself"

The conversation stopped shortly after that and the group (Lily included) began joking about various things and making up funny scenarios. Lily wasn't reluctant to think that she had fun talking and joking with them, however too much time with them was going to make her sick of them. They were typical boys and they all have the emotional range of a teaspoon.

Lily continued her day just as she would any other day. She went to her first three classes and took her notes. After a lunch of tuna and crackers she went to her last three classes and took more notes. When all classes were over at about two fifty-five in the afternoon she went to her bench in the garden and did all of her homework. And by four thirty she had plenty of time to spend with Severus. Which is of course what she did.

"Lily you know I love you"

"Yes"

"I think we should set... boundaries for each other in case we are kissing and one of us thinks it's ok to touch somewhere but the other person isn't ready… I just don't want us to ever feel bad about that or uncomfortable so it would help for the both of us to have boundaries on what is ok and when we feel ready to do some things'' Severus explained nervously. He truly didn't know where he stood on sexual activity or even intense kissing. He was only ready for things Lily was ready for.

"I am completely comfortable with you Severus and if you want to try things like that then I want to too but I think maybe we should wait a bit and develop our relationship romanticly, because we have just been together like this for about a week and I am sure we can wait to become intimate like that" Lily answered.

"Oh I didn't mean for us to do any of that now, just so we know our boundaries when we get to that stage"

She nodded, "I know love"

She turned her face up to smile at him. Severus noted the way the warm late afternoon sun bounced off her face and set her fiery red eyelashes on golden fire. A warm loving blush rose on his cheeks and he smiled and closed his eyes. He was in love with Lily Evans, hopefully someday Lily Snape but that would definitely wait. It just amed him that for seven years he had lived on the same street as this beautiful angel and he didn't even talk to her till they were nine, and now he was her partner in love. The world is a big place and yet they found each other. Severus Snape saw it as a miracle.

"Summer break is in three weeks" Lily said, Severus smiled at her and turned his face up to the sky. He could already feel the warm summer air blowing. It was getting warmer, it had been getting warmer for the past month. It was lovely. This summer they would have to go swim in Salmon Creek which was the little warm forest aea a hour away from their street. It had natural hot springs and it was just so beautiful with ferns and a waterfall. He knew Lily would love it there, he didn't know if she had ever been but he knew she would fall in love with it. He had already decided years ago that when he proposed to her it would be by Salmon creek in the valley next to it. In the valley with so many little white flowers. lilies of the valley.
