The Dal Chapter 2
The moment Bo stepped in to the Dal, she can see the place is almost pack so Bo had to weave through the crowd to finally finding an empty stool and quickly sat on it. She waited until Trick is finished with one of his customers before she hailed him for a beer on tap.
She's hoping she can catch Lauren coming in tonight just to see her. Bo, plainly missed Lauren. That's it! It's how she felt deeply.
Since the Rainer debacle some months ago, she has decided to date Dyson again, even after Rainer. Dyson has been happy of the news that they're trying to see how this time around would be good for them being back as a couple. Bo thinks since Lauren is not in the picture for him to compete, he hasn't said a word of negativity about Lauren just indifference.
The first month, Bo wanted to limit her time with Lauren and spend more with Dyson. Bo knew Kenzi and Lauren have been spending time together, and there are times she wished she could join them, but Dyson became her priority.
Three months has passed now, since she has last seen Lauren. There weren't that much cases at that time for her to go to the Lab – the dark fae lab where Evony keeps tabs on who goes in and out. Except Evony has invoke a strict policy for the Succubus not to enter the compound two months ago. Bo has no desire to seek Lauren when Evony invoke the strict policy, until now. Her Succubus is missing Lauren and had told Bo to seek her out.
Be real Bo, you just didn't want to see Lauren at all. You! You made it a point not to see her at all since you decided to be with Dyson. Her rational inner Succubus practically yelled at her; she shook her head to clear her Succubus from hearing her.
But something is missing…Maybe missing Lauren. Bo trying to figure out this emotion.
Now you're missing Lauren! Ugh! The Succubus finally let her know about her decision to be with Dyson. Contemplating her choice, her stupid choice not to see Lauren or spend time with her as a friend, her regret.
Subconsciously, while Bo sat nursing her beer, she kept turning her head at the front door hoping for Lauren to show up tonight.
Trick came over to Bo. "Bo, she hasn't been in here for the last two months." He had noticed his granddaughter has been sneaking a peek at the door since she had sat down thirty minutes ago.
Kenzi walk up behind her, putting her arm around her shoulder.
"Hey Bobo. You okay?" catching Trick's eye, "Give me one of yur good stuff Trickster." Batting her eyelids at him. Shaking his head while he gets her drink. An empty seat became vacant, its occupant didn't like to sit next to Bo, Kenzi sat next to her.
"Yeah, everything is fine, Kenz." Sipping her beer, looking around hoping Lauren would show up. She had finally texted her a couple of times today to see if she is okay or to have her meet them at the Dal. All she got from Lauren is silence.
When the second month came around, Kenzi had texted Lauren, and leaving messages for them to hang out. Kenzi had finally warmed up to Lauren and all of a sudden Lauren stopped returning her calls or her texts. Kenzi hadn't heard from her since. She can tell Kenzi felt abandon when Lauren didn't bother to respond to her texts. This really got Bo angry for Lauren to ignore her.
Trick came back a few moments giving Kenzi her drink. He wanted to say more to Bo privately but now is not the time to speak about Lauren. He's still miffed that Lauren chose to stay with the Dark Territory instead of the Light. He heard through the grapevine Lauren had gone missing.
He didn't want any ill will on the young woman, but he wished that she doesn't come back at all and that she stays missing. Internally, he was glad Bo and Lauren are not a couple, he didn't exactly want Bo to be with Dyson either. But Dyson is better than Lauren. Walking back to the other side of the bar, smiling a bit.
Bo felt Dyson, his slightly muscular body sliding next to her at the bar.
"Kenzi. Bo." His smile wide and Bo could read his aura bright. But it didn't really get her into him like she had hope it will. All she can think about now is Lauren.
"Hey little mama," The tall, dark man wearing an immaculate suit with his fedora push up above his forehead, sweet talking to Kenzi when he stood next to her.
"Hale." Kenzi couldn't keep the smile off her face.
"Trick, my man. May I have one of your finest beer?" Trick nodding his head went to the other side of the bar for his beer from the tap. Then walk over to him and set his beer down in front of him. Leaving the group alone.
"What have you been up to Hale? We haven't seen you much?" Kenzi gave him a questioning look.
"We have a dead fae that died from some form of attack." Explaining to Kenzi while sipping his beer. Smacking his lips from the mug. "Our doctors don't know what did the fae in and we don't know what kind of fae did it?"
"So, take the dead fae to Lauren, she may have an idea what kind of fae did it." Kenzi explain, thinking they should have done that instead. "I'm pretty sure the Morrigan would like to know who is killing their fae too."
"Well…the Morrigan says her best doctor is unavailable at this time." Trying not to look at Kenzi, instead looking around the club.
"What do you mean her best doctor is unavailable?" This pique Bo after she sipped her beer, listening to their conversation.
"You don't know?" Hale giving Dyson a glare. "Lauren, our Dr. Lewis has been missing for two months now."
Bo face Dyson, growling, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"You and Lauren haven't spent much time together, so I didn't need to tell you about her being missing?" Drinking his beer, looking around the Dal not meeting his girlfriend's eyes. Sighing a bit louder, Bo seems so distance after a month and a half since they have been back, overall, he's happy they're together.
"Don't worry about her, I think Evony has her people out looking for her to bring her back." Resting his arm around her shoulder; Bo didn't like what Dyson said by shrugging his arm off her shoulder.
"Hale when did you find out Lauren was missing?" Her eyes narrowing at him, a slight blue fleck shown before her eyes turn back to brown.
Hale isn't sure if he should answer that, but his little mama is in front of him giving him her piercing blue eyes waiting for his answer. "Two days ago."
Kenzi shove him away, "Lauren is like family to us!"
"I'm sorry Kenzi" was all he can say.
Dyson signal Hale indicating with his head towards the pool table and they both sauntered over to the other side of the pub.
Bo couldn't believe they kept the knowledge from her for two days that Lauren has been missing for over two months. Her anger is seeping through her body. Lauren has helped the Light fae, and had been with them that long and yet. They still don't care about her if she's missing or not. Then she realized, that is how she has treated her for the last months. Dyson's right she practically ignored Lauren as a friend as well as being her ex.
Kenzi saw how Bo is having second thoughts again about Lauren, but it is her fault for not keeping in touch with her. Kenzi too, missed Lauren; since she hasn't seen or been in touch with her for the last two months. She's wondering what happen to their burgeoning friendship, she had begun to like and admire Lauren. Lauren is patient with her, and she was about to teach Kenzi how to make her delicious cupcakes. She didn't say anything much to Bo about it. Still, it hurt her.
"Kenz," she knows that tone when Bo calls her.
While Bo is staring at the direction Dyson had walk with Hale. Thinking she should go to the Morrigan to help find Lauren. She knows Dyson won't help since she's Dark fae and he's Light fae, what a bullshit side.
"I know that look," it's never easy when Bo can't decide who she wants to be with. "It's late Bo. Do you think Evony would still be in her office? Or should we visit her tomorrow?" Sipping her vodka since she switched from beer to the harder stuff.
"No!" Getting off her seat. "You don't need to come Kenz, if you don't want to." Taking a deep breath.
Still a little buzz, Kenzi knew she would go with her to figure out what happen to Lauren. By studying her, she knew she can't let her go to the Morrigan alone. "Bo. I'm with ya." Standing up, waiting for Bo to lead the way.
From across the pub, Dyson saw them leaving thinking for the night she will be going home. Not knowing she's going to visit the Morrigan. He decided to stay at the Dal for a couple of hours before he shows up at her place.
They were in the car, Kenzi being quiet as Bo drove. She's wondering how would they be able to find Lauren if you don't know where to look?
