Yuki was mesmerized by Sango.
Sango was strong, stronger than any girl he'd ever seen. She had a note of sadness in her smile. She had seen tragedy, deep and dark, just like Yuki had.
But she still smiled. At him. And Sango saw him, past the looks, seeing the loneliness and sadness.
Sango caught up to him and took his hand. "You looked lonely back here. It's so busy up there with those three. And Kyo is lost in thought. Thought you could use the company."
"I looked lonely?" Yuki blushed. He felt flustered.
"Sorry." Sango smiled apologetically. "I recognized it from the mirror. Seen some sad times, Yuki?"
Yuki nodded wordlessly. His name. She'd said his name.
This was getting ridiculous.
"Thanks for helping me." Sango continued. "There's really nowhere else I could go."
"Don't worry." Yuki said. "Soon you'll be home."
"Home." Sango sighed. "That's a good thing."
Sango was still holding his hand.
