A couple days later Bella was running again.

"Damn it, how many does she have.." Bella muttered. It felt like she kept taking a couple out here and there but there was always more. Was Victoria making more minions while in New York or had she already made this many back in Seattle?

This time Bella was exhausted because the had found her before she could eat or get enough sleep to recharge. She didn't know how they had did it either perhaps one had a gift… Hopefully not another damn tracker. Ever since James she hated those. Once was enough. Would she always be running for her life? Some time's she wanted to just give up, except the torture or death that Victoria had planned but what if the torture involved the death of her friends and family back in Forks? She couldn't quit and risk that being the case. So she powered on and Bella would continue to do so for the rest of her life is she had to.

The sun was coming up she could the pink and yellow on the horizon.

"Just a little longer." She told herself right before she was snatched up off the street. Bella didn't even get to see who it was before her face was shoved into a brick wall so hard she blacked out.

TIMESKIP

Bella's eyes fluttered open slowly. The bright light from the sun shining down on her from a hole in the roof. Her vision slightly blurry still as she looked around trying to figure out where she was.

"Finally you're awake. You humans require too much sleep. I was getting bored." Said a feminine voice with a maniacal giggle.

Bella knew that voice….. "Victoria."

"That's right!" Victoria giggled again stepping in front of Bella. "I have to admit you gave me quite the run but now I have you." Her red eyes turned black as she growled.

Bella rolled her eyes. She knew she would get caught eventually. "So icky Vicky, what now?"

Victoria growled loudly. "Now you suffer." Victoria reached forward sleeping Bella across the face so hard her head snapped back.

Blood trickled down Bella's lip.

"Ow" Bella muttered. It hurt but not as badly as she had expected.

"That should have broken you jaw!" Victoria hissed. "What's wrong with you?!"

"ME?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!" Bella shouted. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! YOU CRAZY BITCH!" Bella was seething. "I didn't kill your damn mate! Edward did go after his ass and in case you haven't noticed I'm not even that bastard's mate. It should be pretty fucking obvious considering HE LEFT! And how do you expect my death to make him suffer if he's not even around to KNOW about it."

"He'll find out one day! He wouldn't leave you forever. Eventually he will go back for you only to find out you're dead and it was all because of what HE DID! I'll make you suffer than I'll make sure he does to. YOU WILL DIE BUT NOT BEFORE I HEAR YOUR SCREAMS BELLA!" Victoria screeched loudly.

Bella opened her mouth to reply but part of the ceiling came crashing down in front of her. She quickly covered her eyes from the falling debris but the sound of fighting had her lowering her arms to see what was happening.

When she looked up, she couldn't believe her eyes. It was HIM! The metal armed man was here again. Was he rescuing her again?

Bella watched him rip apart several of Victoria's minions but where was the crazy bitch? She looked around and spotted Victoria fleeing from side door into an alleyway.

"AGH!" A yell sounded causing Bella to look back.

"NO!" Bella shouted seeing one of the newborns had bitten her savior on his normal arm. Even though her strength was gone the anger she felt in that moment was enough to fuel her shield to come out. She used it to crush the newborn to dust before falling to her knees and gasping for breath.

A metal arm came into her sight as he reached down and pulled her up to stand. She noticed he was still conscious but how? She wondered. He to was breathing heavily, sweat poured down his face and arm. Bella reached up and brushed his hair out of his face since it was sticking to him. His eyes met hers. "How are you standing? You should be burning." She whispered.

He looked confused by her question for a moment before speaking. "Leave."

Bella shook her head and noticed his expression turn angry. "I have to burn their bodies or they will heal."

He calmed immediately than turned to pile their limbs before pulling out a lighter and setting them aflame. Purple smoke shooting up.

He turned back around grabbing Bella by the arm and dragging her out of the abandoned building. "Where?" He said

"Where what?" Bella asked.

"Where do you stay?" He asked as he continued to drag her along.

He must want to take me where I'm safe Bella guessed. So she pointed the way until they came to the hotel Bella was staying. She unlocked the door but once she stepped inside he turned to leave.

"Wait." She said causing him to glance back at her. "Come in please." He shook his head ready to continue on his way but his breathing was getting rougher. "Please." She said again. "At least let me examine you to make sure you're alright. I can see you struggling to breath. Let me help." She begged.

He seemed to think it over for a moment before turning back to her and walking inside the hotel room.

Bella closed the door locking it. When she looked at him she couldn't help but think he truly stood out with his metal arm and leather vest and pants. His face was still covered with the mask. She walked over and reached for it hoping to remove it but her grabbed her wrists.

"No." He said.

She sighed but nodded her head. Maybe he just wasn't ready yet.

"Okay I won't push." She said and noticed as his stance relaxed slightly. "Just lay down for me than and I'll check on you."

She was surprised when he did as she asked. He laid across the bed. Bella walked up to him and went to place her hand on his head but he flinched away glaring at her.

"Oh stop it." She said with a smile. "I'm just checking you for fever. I promise I won't touch your mask."

He seemed to believe her as he once again relaxed, laying his head back down on the mattress.

Again Bella reached to place her hand on his head though this time slower. She wanted him to trust her. He clearly had a fever she noticed. That could be why he was breathing heavier she thought but she still couldn't understand how he wasn't changing. Why wasn't he becoming a vampire? The curiosity was killing her but she decided not to question it at the moment and instead was just grateful for the fact that he wasn't changing.

She walked to the bathroom and soaked a washcloth in cold water before bringing it back and placing it across his head.

"You have a fever, if we can bring it down you should feel better."

He nodded his head but said nothing. Bella wasn't upset that he didn't speak, she could already tell it was something he didn't do much of. She was only glad that he was here in front of her even though she knew it wouldn't be for long. He would run off again but that was okay she told herself, because she would continue to chase him. Bella didn't know why but she needed him and some how she felt as though he needed her to.

Next she moved to his arm to examine the bite. It had already healed slightly and scabbed over. But how?! Still she ran her fingers across it, again he flinched slightly but this time she didn't know if it was because of her simply touching him or if it was from the electricity she felt. Her skin against his just felt right somehow, she thought maybe he felt the same way as she placed her hand flat on his arm and watched as he relaxed further. She looked up at his face to notice his eyes start to close.

She smiled than pulled away to go gather another wash cloth. He had blood dried to his arm from being bitten. When she came back she could tell that he had fallen asleep. Bella was as quiet and gentle as possible as she cleaned him up so that he would sleep. Perhaps he would be better after, at least she hoped.

He slept through the rest of the day. Bella continued to switch out the cloth on his head for a fresh one every thirty minutes. As his fever lowered, Bella relaxed. He truly wasn't going to change and she had never been more grateful for anything in her life until that moment.

When his fever broke and she could tell he was resting peacefully, a yawn escaped her. She had been up for so long. Bella blushed as a thought came to her… Would he mind if she simply laid next to him? She knew she probably shouldn't but this might be her only chance so she gave in to temptation as she crawled onto the bed next to him and laid down softly. Thankfully she hadn't woken him up. She placed her forehead against the cool metal of his arm and drifted off into a dreamless and peaceful sleep.

When she woke up it was once again he was gone. She couldn't help the feeling of emptiness that hit her with that realization. Bella stood and stretched, her eyes roaming the bed where he had been when she caught sight of something sticking out from under a pillow. She reached for it. It was a piece of paper folded in half. Bella opened it and smiled.

'Bye Bella'
