Fire And Ice
Summary
Firestorm and Cinderice are childhood friends who've known each other as hatchmates. But when they get lost in the Old NightWing Kingdom, they will team up with three other Dragonets to find their way back home.
Cinderice Is Right Again
I awake to Cinderice smoothing the tail spikes on my head and tail. I don't know when we fell asleep, but sunlight was streaming in through the entrance of the den. We stand up, and quickly orient ourselves for the daytime and finding our way back home and out of this creepy place.
I see a flash of orange fur, and suddenly, it's on top of me. A fox the size of a large boulder, biting me on the shoulder. I whirl around, and claw at it, but it's no use. It's four times as large as I am, and five times as strong. But I claw and bite anyway. I'm only five moons old, and I have no training, but I have to.
"CINDER! Leap on top of it! It'll try to squash you, but Ill get it's belly!" She nods, and leaps onto the fox, biting and scratching it's ears, eyes, and back. It whirls around, and eventually, like I predicted, it goes to lay on it's back, which will squish Cinder. Before it can squash her flat, I rake my claws down it's underbelly, and it falls over on it's side, a puddle of blood forming around it's belly.
"We didn't just do that" Cinderice says, staring in disbelief at the dead fox.
"We did" Our eyes both shine with accomplishment, though, I'm seriously hurt, and Cinderice looks kind of exhausted.
"We need to get out of here." I say, and Cinderice nodded.
"Well yeah" Cinderice says, staring at me.
"Follow me." We trot out of the den. The new leaf air is warmer today, and only a gentle breeze drifts by. It ruffles Cinder's ice spikes, and makes them dance around like little fairies.
However, we hadn't gotten very far when Cinderice suddenly stops, turning to stare at me me with her sharp gaze.
"Hold up miss smarty-claws, we have no idea where we are" Cinderice points out, gesturing with her wings all round us to prove her point.
"Yeah, I guess you're right" I say, and with a frustrated sigh, I blew a plume of Frost. Fox dung, we are completely lost in some old abandoned Kingdom with no way of know how to get out. Great. What fun.
"You two seem lost, do you need help getting out of here?" Me and Cinderice both turn around to see a dragonet about our age with IceWing horns, webbed talons, and spikes on the end of her tail, while her scales were a mix of light blue and pure while.
"Oh, um hi haha sorry about scaring you guys like that, my name's Bluestar, it's nice to meet you" She said, fumbling with a sapphire necklace that hung around her neck.
"It's nice to meet you Bluestar, my name's Firestorm and this is Cinderice" i say, festering with a wing at both me and Cinder. Bluestar smiled widly and flapped her wings.
"Well C'mon, let's go explore and try to find a way out of here" Bluestar's said, and me and Cinderice nodded and followed after the energetic IceWing/SeaWing hybrid dragonet.
Despite the NightWings old home being destroyed by a volcano, it was still in relatively good shape. The worn old path shined in the light of the morning sun as we ran across the Courtyard.
"Why didn't the NightWings ever think to rebuild their home of the volcano destroyed it? I mean, it's still in pretty good shape considering" Cinderice remarked and I just shrugged my wings in response.
"Who knows" I replied as we kept on walking around staring at all that remained of the old NightWing Kingdom. We had lost track of trying to find our way out of here for the time being. 'I mean, for StarClan's sake, their are so many sights to see!' I mentally yelled, as I gazed up at what I assumed used to be a school, but it had moss and vines growing all around it and the roof was half-way gone, most likely rotted and fell off if I were to guess.
"Is that a school? It sure looks it has had better days" Bluestar remarked, walking over and siting beside me as she gazed at what remained of the school.
"You can say that again" I replied, and Bluestar giggled softly. I smiled cheekily at my new friend. It has always been hard to be friends with other dragon's either they are using me or just want a trip to Queen Twilight's pretty palace. So, it mainly has been me and me, then me and Cinderice and now I have Cinderice and Bluestar. I am nothing but a lucky dragon! Oh, and yes, Queen Twilight is my mother, so Yeah, I'm a Princess.
"I thought this place would be in absolute ruins, but it's actually in really good shape" Cinderice says, sitting next to me in the grass. The sun was shining brightly and it felt so warm on my scales.
"So, Firestorm, are you and Cinderice hybrids?" Bluestar asked, breaking the silence that had fallen. I nodded and looked down at my black and icy blue scales.
"Yes, me and Cinderice are both hybrids, we are both IceWing/NightWing hybrids" I replied, and Bluestar smiled brightly at me and Cinderice.
"Where to now?" Cinderice asks, twitching her tail and staring at me with curiosity shining in her eyes.
"I'm not sure, where do you think we should go next Bluestar?" I ask the blue and white dragonet. Bluestar puts her talons on her chin in thought.
"We could go inside of the palace and explore" Bluestar suggested, and me and Cinderice nod in agreement as we spread our wings and took to the Skys, flying in the direction of the NightWing palace, well whatever was left of it that is.
