She'd been lost in her work wanting to get a head start on analyzing the files she'd managed to pull from the pod when a flicker of movement made her start in surprise as she looks away from her computers. The blonde gives a guilty kind of glance as she curls up in the far corner of the small space Alex had claimed for herself. A recurring habit she'd picked up the last few days since Alex had cleared her from confinement to the med wing while her body acclimated to life outside of the pod.
"Sorry Commander. She got away from me again." 'LL's' handler sighs jogging in a few long seconds later. "We were in the canteen then when I turned back to check what I'd grabbed was something she'd want she was just-." she goes on while all Alex can do is marvel at how nicely her fellow soldier's toned body looked in the more relaxed of military attire.
A rare sight for Alex to admire in peace as she could right now.
Dark grey camouflaged cargo pants, a curve cradling military green tee-shirt, and a simple army green jacket that proved to be a few sizes too big for Maggie's shorter form yet despite swimming in the thing her fellow soldier still looked as deadly as ever. Her long hair pulled back in a simple high ponytail.
Alex remembering clear as day the other woman's surprise when Leo had recommended, to shadow their new addition after they'd all noticed the way the General still refused to think of 'LL' as the newcomer was still being called as anything but a threat just waiting for them to drop their defenses. Alex later catching Leo for a tight hug in thanks considering that now she had a much better reason to be around Maggie more considering how often LL would be in the med wing. She quickly swears the smug-looking man to secrecy on being clued in on Alex's growing crush on their fellow military recruit.
"No trouble Sawyer." Alex shrugs doing her best to keep from blushing when Maggie decides to take up a much more casual leaning stance by the door keeping both her charge and Alex in view. LL quietly looking between the two with a smile as she wrapped her arms around her legs drawing her knees to her chest the picture of childlike innocence.
"Actually, aside from her allotted time outside, sitting in the corner of my bunk in a kind of meditative state listening to who knows what, watching every one of my secret stash of movies, side trips to the caf for something to snack on, or her you watching or her General watching our girl here is easy to look after." Maggie comments pulling up a chair beside the quiet blonde with a sisterly kind of nudge to her shoulder.
"The General?" Alex questions glancing toward the blonde just in time to catch the red blush before she hides her face behind her hair. "Aww seems someone has a crush." She teases. "Hang on you have a secret stash of movies? Like what?"
"Come on Danvers don't tease her. You must have had one or two in your time." Maggie scolds draping her arm over LL's shoulders ignoring her other probing questions.
LL giggles so softly the other two almost miss the sound when Alex's shoulders drop, and she too attempts to hide behind her hair.
A clearing throat cuts the teasing off before it could start as all eyes turn toward the door.
"I'm not interrupting?" Winn questions standing in perfect attention just inside the doorway. He hastily waves the other two off when they make to do the same. "Please this is your space not mine, no need for that." He points out his gaze anywhere but on the blonde-haired woman now gazing at him with rapt attention when he steps more into the room with them.
"You're reading me out of my own little library General. 'Fraid I don't have anything new for you unless you want computer files instead of paperbacks." Alex says spotting the book Winn was attempting to keep behind his back.
"Since when did you become an F. Scott Fitzgerald fan, sir." Maggie says with an amused grin spotting the title.
"It's a classic." Winn argues.
"If you want you could keep it longer. Reread it." Alex offered but Winn shakes his head letting the book fall gently onto the tabletop. None choose to notice when LL's arm reaches out her fingers brushing against the answering side to the one Winn was still holding. Only Maggie catching the subtle wink the scruffy-faced commander sent the quiet girl before the book was carefully tugged from the table.
"Mind if I pick up The Art of War again?" Winn asks instead his back still ramrod straight as he keeps his gaze only on Alex as he speaks. "seems I already need a refresher course."
"Sure." Alex nodes holding in a laugh with difficulty as she rolls her chair over to the cabinet, she kept her small collection of books.
"And Sawyer make sure Linda is ready for her first round of field training. She's staying she'd best get to pulling her weight just like the rest of us. War might be over but theirs always another one on the horizon." Winn orders with a node in thanks when his chosen book was handed over.
"Linda, sir?" Maggie questions sharing a puzzled glance with an equally confused Alex.
Winn's head turns in the blonde's direction "Kind of silly just calling her LL all the time." The General shrugs before turning on his heels and walking out of the office book in hand.
