Whatever Sean was exspecting this was not it. He didn't move, didn't even blink. Meanwhile Louise- his normally calm and collected mother was livid "YOU GOT MARRIED AND YOU DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO INVITE US???- DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO TELL US!! YOU FLAMING GOBSHITE!!!"

Walters eyes flittered with panic, he was used to people shouting at him but never his mother. "It wasn't like that" he winced, fearing she was about to get angrier "I needed a VISA to stay in LA- It was for the business" He flinched knowing how his mother felt about the sanctity of marriage. Her next words were quiet but threatening in their tone "Tell me you didn't commit your blasphemy in the Lord's house" Walter felt relieved he was able to answer the negative "We were married in the town hall, nothing religious about it at all and we never consummated the marriage". Louise breathed a sigh of relief "Thank the lord- in the eyes of God you didn't complete the marriage then"

Sean had finally joined the conversation again "So what's the problem with immigration then?" Fearful that his son could be facing prison-again.

"Happy, my wife, is pregnant and its going to look bad to immigration that another man is the father and they want to to get married themselves and uh, between us, Paige and I want to get married.." his mother raised an eyebrow "For real!" He quickly added "but uh if I'm to have a chance to keep my VISA so I can stay with her in LA and keep the company running we need to get married within the next 14 days." He took another breath before he continued "I really love her Mammy, and I want us to be a family- me, Paige and Ralph. With a proper wedding, like you both had with our Father marrying us in a church instead of some stranger in a hall. But I'll need help convincing the Father to marry us so quickly...if you'll be willing to help that is?" He asked nervously.

Sean looked confused as a question came to him "wouldn't you need to get married in America for that to work?" Walter smiled- something Sean wasn't used to seeing "We'll have to have our marriage certificate here sent from here after we go back to America for a day or so to get married in the town hall so that it's registered over there first and put in the adoption papers for Ralph, then ive got to come back to Ireland for 6 months while we wait for immigration to do their thing. B-But P-Paige has always dreamed of a big white wedding-and I want to give her that. We want our first wedding to be a proper marriage- even if we can't have it registered first" Walter grew silent as he waited for his parents reactions. Sean and Louise turned to each other and Louise laughed as Sean said to her "You're going to have to get baking to butter up the Father Paul then aren't you?"
