He was thrown away like trash. Left for dead. Shivering in the cold. Would he die in this wet miserable place? Or would he do the honors himself? The future looked bleak.

REALITY HAS NINE LIVES

CHAPTER TWO

The Abduction

Tree.

Floor.

Tree.

Floor.

I can do it. I can jump that tree and then make my way down...

Who am I kidding?

I looked down with a heavy heart and knew that this height was way too high for me. I could just see myself broken and bleeding on that wet dirty sidewalk.

I feel so frustrated and angry and hungry and so so cold.

I don't know how many hours I spent shivering. I got wet again after a short rain and it made everything so miserable that I really did contemplate jumping.

Suddenly, a big shadow went over me and it became dark. I cried louder this time maybe to scare the shadow. The shadow was all over me...and then to my horror I see the hard wet floor moving below me!

The warmth began rolling me over and I closed my eyes at the light that hurt my eyes and then it was dark. Actually I could sometimes see some sort of light and it was moving. No, it's not moving. I was moving.

I'm still on misery mode so whatever fate this shadow is taking me I would go with it. Maybe this is how you die. Yeah, this is better. Beats the hell out of freezing to death. Or falling to death. Or freezing and falling to death. Just death.

I felt so tired all of a sudden and I gave in and curled on my haunches and I closed my eyes tightly. Come on death. Here I am. I'll go with you. I'm not gonna scratch and claw my way out of your hands. I'm pooped. I'm out. I'm...I'm just gonna stay here and wait it all out.

Then my ears twitched.

I suddenly realized The Shadow that took me is warm. Now that I'm not too cold I was surprised that I could notice some itty bitty things. That was my brain kicking in action and so I can hear a thump-thump sound. It was kind of a soft sound and another strange sound. The moldy smell was gone too and it was warm. It's making me sleepy. There was another sound that reminded me of the big creatures that passed me by and the same creature but smaller that chucked me up that cold and dirty place.

The Warmth that surrounded me tightened all around me and for fear of being squished I reluctantly stopped squirming.

It was then I realized that I might be in a bigger trouble worse than death.
