Scotty had walked Lexie not only to the hotel, but all the way up to her room which didn't surprise her in the least. She knew that the Scotsman was very protective of her, which Lexie kinda liked. She saw Scotty as a parental figure so she didn't mind him acting that way, as long as it didn't get too much. Lexie had said goodnight to Scotty who had decided to head back to the restaurant to have a few more drinks with the guys, since it was very rare for them all to do something like this as there was always something happening. Delta was looking at himself in the vanity mirror while Lexie was in the bathroom getting changed, no matter how much he tried Delta just couldn't stop thinking about those men. He was sure it was nothing to worry about, that's what he hoped anyway.
"Something on your mind Delta?" Asked a voice, Delta turned slowly around to see Lexie walking out of the bathroom brushing the curls out of her long, crimson red hair. "I'm just thinking about what our next adventure will be when we're back on the Enterprise." He lied, Lexie smiled as she walked over and sat on the stool. "Well don't think too hard, I can guaranty whatever happens next will be totally beyond anyone's imagination. The only certain thing is that it will most likely be dangerous." Lexie stated as she placed down her hair brush to allow her to put her hair up in a loose pony tail, Delta chuckled at her reply since he knew that she was probably correct. "Come on you, time for bed." Lexie said softly as she finished tying up her hair, "Alright Lex, see you in the morning." Delta replied. Lexie gave him a light 'boop' on the nose before walking over to her bed, switched off the bedside lamp, and settled into her bed, while Delta slowly closed his eyes to hopefully get some rest.
In the middle of the night Delta was woken up from his slumber by a strange sound, one that he couldn't quite work out. He slowly opened his eyes, fluttering them several times just to make them stay open, he didn't particularly like being woken up while he slept unless it was by Lexie. Even with the room in darkness he was still able to see, thanks to the fact that Lexie had recently upgraded his eyes by giving them a night vision mode. She had been meaning to do it forever but only just found the time to do it, which Delta was grateful for at this moment in time. He glanced around the room, the greenish light from his eyes softly illuminating the room, but not a great deal as he didn't want to wake Lexie, but nothing seemed out of place, everything was where it had been when the two of them had gone to bed only a few hours before. So what was making that noise he was hearing because he could still hear it, driven by curiosity Delta hopped quietly down from the vanity to go and investigate.
Delta knew this was a stupid thing to be doing and the fact it was the middle of the night didn't make things any better, add on the matter that he was in an unfamiliar place. So this basically was the definition of trouble, but Delta still carried on. His investigation took him into the other room since it seemed that the noise was coming from in there, it was then when he noticed the lace curtains which hung in front of the balcony doors (yes their room had a balcony, fancy) were moving. Delta felt his circuitry buzz, seeing that kinda freaked him out, he wasn't aware that Lexie had left the doors open slightly. "OK, I should probably go and wake Lexie." Delta said to himself as he slowly stepped towards the balcony, completely ignoring his own suggestion. He slowly pushed through the curtain, to find that the doors were slightly open. Once again driven solely on curiosity Delta squeezed through the gap and stepped out onto the balcony.
Delta haven't been out on the balcony during their stay at the hotel, mainly because himself and Lexie were always out doing things. But upon seeing the view it gave of the city he really wished he had made use of it a lot more, it was currently being gently illuminated by the silvery light that Lilo's shattered moon emitted. Delta walked over to the centre of the balcony and looked around slowly, to see if anything seemed abnormal or strange. But there was nothing that jumped out at him, everything looked so peaceful. Despite this he still couldn't shake the feeling that something just wasn't right, Delta couldn't explain it but he knew something was amiss. It was then he heard that strange noise again and it seemed much closer than before, "Now I really should go and wake Lexie." He muttered to himself, Delta had gone from being curious, to being scared in a matter of seconds which he wasn't a fan of. He had just turned to head back into the room to wake Lexie when he felt something stab into his back, even though Delta was an AI program within a robot body he could still feel pain.
But before he could try and reach whatever it was, his body was delivered a huge electric shock, one his internal systems couldn't deal with. His body ceased to function resulting in him being unable to move and his voice module was disrupted, meaning he couldn't even call for Lexie to alert her that something was wrong. The only things which were still working were his optical and audio receptors (so his eyes and ears) so he could still see and hear everything. Suddenly he heard a voice, one he didn't recognise. "You better not of damaged it? The master wants it in working order." It whispered angrily, "Don't worry, it will be fine. I only stunned it, now grab it and let's get out of here before it's human wakes up." A second voice replied. Delta then felt himself being picked up and stuffed inside a small metal cage, he wanted to scream Lexie's name, but he just couldn't as he was taken away by two unknown beings.
Lexie was woken up by a cool breeze blowing through her room, she rolled over and glanced at the alarm clock which sat beside the bedside lamp which read: 06:43am. She sighed as she switched on the lamp before tossing the cover off and swung her legs over the side of the bed, when her bare feet touched the floor a shiver ran up her legs. "Bloody hell that's cold." She muttered quietly, once she had gotten use to the cold she rose from the bed and set off to find the reason for the breeze. Lexie couldn't be completely sure if she had left a window open or not before she went to bed, but she was struggling to understand why she would only notice a breeze now instead of during the night. She first went into the bathroom to see if the window in there was a jar, but it was shut and locked. So she went back into her room and checked but yet again all of the windows were closed. Still puzzled and a little bit groggy Lexie moved on to the other room, she just wanted to find the cause so she could go back to bed since she wasn't due down in the lobby till 11am. A quick check of the windows revealed that they were all shut, "What the hell is that…" Lexie didn't even finish her sentence. She had noticed that the lace curtains which covered the balcony doors were softly fluttering, this made Lexie even more confused.
She headed over to them and gently pushed them aside to reveal that the doors were a jar. She hadn't even been out there for the duration of her stay, so why would the doors be open. Leaving that question for later she was just about to close it when something caught her eye, there was something on the floor in the centre of the balcony. The sun was already beginning to rise therefore there was enough light for her to see to a degree, so she stepped out to investigate. Upon closer inspection it looked like some sort of liquid, Lexie crouched down and dipped her finger into it. The consistency of it led her to believe it was some kind of oil, but it was green not black. There was only one green oil that Lexie knew about and it was to do with Delta's robotic body, when she built it for him all those years ago she used green oil for the hydraulics in his arms and legs. But that still didn't explain what it was doing out on the balcony? Lexie decided to go ask her robotic companion herself so entered back into the room, not bothering to close the door behind her.
She soon wandered into her bedroom, "Delta is there a reason why ther…" Lexie stopped upon realizing that her friend wasn't there. "Delta?" She called, but he didn't answer. "Delta where are you?" Lexie quickly glanced around the room, but still she couldn't see him anywhere. "Maybe he's hiding?" She thought, so she returned to the other room. "Delta come on out, you win." Lexie called, but still there was no reply. Lexie's heart began to beat slightly faster, Delta knew better than to hide from her for this long and if he was hiding he always came out once she called him, besides it was her who should be hiding since it was Delta's birthday after all and she was going to surprise him. "Come on Delta, this isn't funny." Lexie stuttered as she scanned around the room again as she waited for an answer, which never came.
It was at this moment panic started to set in and horrifying thoughts were swimming around in her mind, if there was oil on the floor that meant that something had pierced through his metallic body, Delta wasn't very clumsy by any stretch of the imagination, he only on very rare occasions got the odd dent but he had never split the metal that his body was made of. Lexie just stood there, frozen in her thoughts. "Oh Delta please don't be gone!" She muttered before sprinting out of her hotel room, thankfully the whole crew were staying on the same floor. Chekov and Lexie had their own rooms while Scotty shared one with Keenser and Kirk shared with McCoy. She knew that any of them wouldn't appreciate being woken up this early in the morning, but she didn't know what else to do. Lexie ran down the hall, the rooms were quite far apart from one another so it would take her a good minute to get to anyone else.
Lexie skidded to a halt outside a door and began banging on it loudly, "Scotty! Scotty wake up!" It was a few seconds before someone did finally come and answer the door. "What's wrong lassie?" Scotty asked with a yawn, "Scotty, Delta's gone!" Almost instantly Scotty was fully awake. "What do you mean he's gone?" "He's missing, I can't find him and I think his been hurt, I found a patch of his oil on the balcony!" Lexie cried, Scotty could tell that Lexie wasn't just worried, she was completely hysterical. He placed a hand on her shoulder to try and calm her down since she was getting herself into a right mess. "We'll find him lass, are you sure he hasn't just gone for a walk?" Lexie shook her head quickly, "Delta knows better than to go wandering off alone, he just wouldn't do that. I think someone's taken him." She replied while trying to hold back streams of tears. "Come on, let's go wake the others. We'll need their help to find the wee lad." Scotty stated as he turned to face Keenser, who was stood behind him. "That means you too."
Keenser just nodded and followed the two Engineers down the hall, Scotty chose to go and wake Kirk first since he was their Captain after all. They soon came to Kirk's (and McCoy's) room, Scotty knocked loudly on the door several times before someone came to answer it. The door opened to reveal a rather groggy looking McCoy standing hunched over in his PJ's, he glared at them intensely. "I swear to god! You better have a good reason for this! Do you have any idea what time it is?" McCoy grumbled, Scotty rubbed the back of his neck, he of all people knew never to wake the Doctor. "This is important McCoy, go and wake Jim." McCoy instantly knew that something wasn't right, Scotty didn't often call the Captain by his first name unless something was terribly wrong. So the Doctor waved them in and hurried off to wake Kirk and going off the sounds that the three Engineers heard that didn't go well. "Bones! It's not even bloody seven o'clock in the blasted morning, why the hell are you waking me up!" Kirk cried angrily, much like the Doctor Kirk didn't like being woken up in the early hours.
When McCoy was finally able to force the childish Captain out of bed the two of them wandered into the room where the others were waiting, Kirk just stared at them all. "Is there a reason why you lot have decided to congregate in the middle of mine and Bones' hotel room?" He asked with a huge yawn, "There sure is Jim, we have a problem." Scotty stated. "And what would that be?" Kirk asked once again with a yawn, "Captain… Delta's been… been…" Lexie stuttered. Now Kirk was concerned, "Delta's been what Lexie?" "Taken Captain… He's been taken." Kirk's face dropped and McCoy spat out the swig of water he had just taken. "What?" Kirk questioned, Lexie felt tears slowly start to trickle down her cheek. "Delta's been taken." Lexie repeated as she sniffled, Kirk led her over to the couch and sat her down. "What happened?" McCoy asked as himself and Scotty joined them, while Keenser went to wake up Chekov. "I was woken up by a cool breeze this morning so I got up to find out where it was coming from, it was then I found out that the doors to the balcony were a jar and in the centre of the balcony itself was a puddle of oil. The exact oil I used when I built Delta's robotic body, so I went to ask him why it was there, it was then I discovered he was gone." Chekov then hurried into the room and Scotty quickly filled him in, "Is there away for you to track him?" Asked McCoy. Lexie nodded slowly.
"Yes, he has a tracking chip installed. Is there a PADD around here?" Kirk looked around and quickly pointed at a side table which sat in the corner of the room, Keenser didn't waste any time running over to it and grabbing the PADD, before heading over to hand it to Lexie. She began to type away frantically on the screen, Kirk watched over her shoulder while McCoy watched over Kirk's. Suddenly Lexie gasped, her hands began to slowly shake and even more tears began to fall from her eyes. "Lexie, what's wrong?" Asked Chekov, "He's not on Lilo…" She muttered. "So he's on the Enterprise?" Questioned McCoy, but Lexie shook her head quickly. "No, he's on a different ship. One which is traveling at warp speed away from Lilo." Kirk leapt from his seat, "Everyone get packing, I want everyone ready to leave in the next five minutes. Chekov get Spock ready to beam us aboard on my order." They all nodded before hurrying off, all but Lexie who was still staring at the PADD. "Oh Delta…" She felt a hand on her shoulder so turned to see who it was, it was Kirk. "We'll get him back Lexie, I don't let anyone kidnap a member of my crew and get away with it, especially when they mean so much to someone." Lexie smiled as she wiped her eyes, "Thank you…" She said before sprinting off to pack, since she had a friend to find.
