Chapter 2 Team JNPR:

"For years you have trained to become Huntsman and Huntresses," Ozpin said, gaining the attention of the new first-years. "With that being said today is the day that you will be getting your partners." Seeing the interest in their eyes.

"This year for initiation you will be launched into Emerald Forest and be tasked with making a landing strategy and finding a relic North from here." He spoke, looking over a blonde snake Faunus for a few seconds then continuing.

"The first person you make eye contact with will be your partner for the next four years at this academy... Good luck!" As he said this people started getting launched into the air.

Seeing people getting launched, Jaune pulled down his sunglasses and got into a crouch position with his hand firmly gripped on his Shinigami.

Soaring through the air he started to descend towards a large tree, unsheathing his sword he stabbed into the trunk and dragged himself down in a spiral shape around it. As he lands on the ground he pulls out his compass and looks towards North before beginning his trek.

20 Minutes Later:

"Man, this place is so far away!" He whines for what feels like the millionth time. Taking off his glasses he looks around for anything of interest.

Grrrrrr

Whipping his head around towards the sound he sees a small pack of Beowolves stalking towards him. Smirking a bit, he unsheathes his sword and uses his Semblance to sink into the ground leaving a small bit of black smoke in his place.

Leaving the wolves confused for a second, he uses this to jump back out right under one of them, stabbing them directly in the chest killing it before sinking back under. Jumping out again he fires out a few poisoned-filled Kunai killing the rest of them.

Sheathing his sword, he gets into a more relaxed position before pulling out a Kunai and pointing it towards a rustle in the bushes. Watching a bit, he calls out "Hello! Anybody there?"

"Yes! Hello!" A slightly familiar voice calls back to reveal the redhead from earlier.

"Hello, partner, Pyrrha right? Jaune Arc." He responds back a little cautious in fear she is like the Schnee.

"Nice to meet you Jaune! I was going to help you a bit with the pack but you had it under control."

"Erm... Thanks? Let's go get the relic now, I guess." He responds back.

30 Minutes Later:

"How did you sink into the ground like that anyway?" The redhead, Pyrrha, speaks up after a while of walking. "Also, where did you learn to fight like that? I've never seen that style before."

"It's my semblance, Shadow Sink, it's a lazy name but it tells you what you need to know, I can sink into the shadow of anything." He speaks. "Be it of a tree, a Grimm, a bike, or just another person if I'm feeling tired and don't want to walk anymore."

"As for how I was fighting I was using a style called Serpent Style where it uses fast and precise movements, it was taught to me by my father and master Oruchimaru" He responds to the second question. "He Uhm... isn't around anymore though."

"Oh! I'm sorry if-" She is cut off by a low growl coming from a cave near them. They both whip their heads towards the sound to see a very large Deathstalker creeping out.

Jaune turns to Pyrrha with a raised eyebrow and asks "Run?"

She nods "Run." Turning around they begin sprint away but right after Jaune narrowly dodges a large pincer "Shit!"

Blake had been doing pretty well so far, she had gotten a pretty good, if not obnoxious, partner and had just gotten her relic. Initiation had been going pretty smoothly until...

"Shit!"

She whips her head around towards the cry and tries to narrow down what it was until she realized it was... "Jaune?"

"Hm? Snakey-boy? Your boyfriend?" Her partner Yang asks with a shit-eating grin.

"He's not my boyfriend!"

"Yeah, whatever you... Is that girl riding a Grimm?" She asks seeing something strange emerging from the forest.

Turning her head over she sees an orange-haired girl on top of a giant Grimm. "I-"

"Nora!"

"Aw, it's broken!" The orange-haired girl whimpers but quickly turns around and grabs a relic "I'm the queen of the castle~ I'm the queen of the castle~"

"Is that your sister?" Blake questions gesturing to a girl in a red hood coming out of the trees.

"Hm? Oh! Ruby!"

"Yang!" The girl, Ruby, yells back.

"Ruby!"

"Yang!"

"Nora!" The orange-haired girl, Nora, exclaims.

"Shit!"

Everybody turns their attention to Jaune and a red-haired girl sliding down a hill with Jaunes sword stabbed into a Deathstalkers head killing it after they stop. He yanks his sword and sheathes it turning his attention back to everybody. "Oh, hey guys! "He says waving.

"Help!" A high voice screech from above.

Looking up there is a girl in white hanging from Nevermores claws.

"Weiss!? What are you doing up there" Ruby screams.

"Why did you leave me?!" The white-dressed, Weiss, yells back.

"I told you to jump!"

"Get me awa- Ah!" She starts to yell but the Nevermore releases her.

"She got dropped," Blake says.

"She'll be fine!" Ruby replies.

"She's falling." The one in green says bluntly with a tired gaze in his eyes.

"Ugh! I got her!" Jaune yells sinking in the ground and appearing under Weiss catching her.

"Put me down!" She says sharply.

"A'ight, fine," He replies back with a shrug and promptly drops on the ground with a thud. "Welp lets head back everybo-" "Schreeeeeeeeech" Looking back over he sees the Nevermore is back. "Well, motherfu-"

"Cardin Winchester, Russel Thrush, Dove Bronzewing, and Sky Lark, you four have returned with the black bishop piece making you four Team CDRL from now on being led by... Cardin Winchester." Reading off the team names assigned. "Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao-Long. You four have retrieved the white knight pieces making you Team RWBY led by... Ruby Rose." Ozpin said as Yang and Blake congratulated her while Weiss looked to be fuming which brings a small smirk to Jaunes face.

"And finally, Jaune Arc, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie, and Lie Ren. You four have brought back to the white rook pieces making you Team JNPR led by... Jaune Arc." Ozpin finishes off while Jaunes team is congratulating him as he has a slight twitch and urge to hiss at the outcome but eventually relents and sighs in defeat. 'I made it dad... I made it.'

Heeeeeeey! We got Chapter 2 up! This one is a little shorter than the last one though.

Fair warning though, these first few chapters are really just gonna be setting up the plot and characters for the story before we get into some action and stuff. Thanks for reading though! R&R!
