For a long time, she had dreamed of being rescued. Taken away from the terrible place of Privet Drive. Some nights, she dreamed that a distant family member would storm through the front door, knocking the fat, overweight man to the ground and then take her away. Other times, she wished that her father would come and punish these terrible people.

Zatanna never would have thought or dreamed that her wish would have come true. The ringing of the front door became a new chapter in her life. She hasn't seen what had happened to the man that equals a whale but she heard fist hitting flesh. Her living nightmares are over and in front of her...a brighter future awaits her.

Her first month at the large mansion was spent cautiously studying the behavior of these strangers. She witnessed the woman, who has become her new guardian, bursting out in tears when she tried to hug her. At first, she felt afraid of the stranger which slowly tapped off and Zatanna let the woman do what she wanted. Her first day was bathing together with her, together they were sitting in the large square bath. Zatanna's skin was scrubbed and washed with soap, before cold water rinsed off the dirt from her. She noticed that the woman takes her time, cleaning her off of all the dirt while humming a song.

Zatanna felt her eyelids growing heavy and in her chest, a warmth spread throughout her whole body. Going through her limbs and reaching the tips of her fingers and toes. A small smile blossomed on her face, which only grew when she was carried into the large bath. Upon touching the water, despite being hot, she felt all her aches and bruises disappear. Slowly, Zatanna rested her head on the woman's bosom, using them as cushions and exhaustion finally claimed her.

Outside the window frame, birds had found a warm home under the roof. They had built a nest for their young. Sunlight embraced everything they touched and so, light streamed into the room. They banished the darkness and slowly woke the girl up. Her long, raven dark hair was spread around her head like a halo and her eyelashes fluttered open. The sight of an unfamiliar ceiling gave birth to fear and she quickly jumped out of bed, eyes taking everything in that is unfamiliar. This room is decorated for a girl as she sees a large, heavy pink wardrobe that looks suspiciously like that from Beauty and the Beast. It was surrounded by huge white fluffy teddy bears which were six feet in size and on their belly was a large heart symbol. Against another wall is a beauty salon, full of anything a girl her age could wish for.

In a different part of her room, a large sofa leaned against the wall, while next to it was a well-designed fireplace that screams wealth. She then turned around and her eyes grew in size when she saw a four-person bed that could only belong to a princess. She was so in awe that she couldn't hear that someone was knocking at the door. "Zatanna..." a pause. "Are you up?"

Zatanna yelped when the sounds reached her ears and she ducks under the covers of her bed. A sudden slam resounded through her room when the door flew open. "What's wrong! Did you have nightmares?"

The girl peeked out from under her cover and saw the muscular person she had ever seen. Zatanna suspected him to be fourteen because of the wall of muscles. "Who are you?" She whispered from under her hiding place. Zatanna heard him move silently and stopped in front of her before a dull thud was heard. Tilting the covers slightly up, she peeked at the boy who sits now in front of her.

"I know that you feel scared after all that has happened in your life, sister. If we had the courage to meet that woman earlier, we might have discovered the true nature of that disgraceful creature and you could have been saved earlier. I'm sorry for what she had done to you and our parents have sent letters to the Goblins to ruin them financially." The boy spoke to her and she didn't know what Goblins were. "Our parents, Lily and James have adopted you into our family. They had always wanted a daughter to spoil… and I always and still want a sister that I could spoil, love, and protect. Call me Harry and I want to be your brother." Zatanna's eyes brimmed with tears and she surged out of her bed and leaped at him, wrapping her thin arms around his stomach and cried tears of joy.

Harry smiled sadly at his new sister and embraced her carefully. He gently caressed her raven black hair, combed them with his fingers, and rocked her gently. "I promise little sister that from now on, I will protect you." He felt his little sister bury her head harder against his stomach, staining his shirt with her tears. Not that the boy cared about his shirt because someone important to his family was letting out all the pain from her heart. "Dry your tears sister of mine and tell me, do you believe in Magic?"

"I...I… was told that Magic wasn't real." She sniffed in his arms. "They beat me when something strange happened or when one of his deals at the company didn't work out the way he wanted." Zatanna then tilted her head up, looking at her new brother. "Do you mean that every strange thing that happened to me is actually magic?"

James and Lily's son felt the turmoil of his emotions inside him as he listened to his sister. 'A beating that I gave that whale of a man wasn't enough. I let our parents know what they did to you and we increased the payment of the Goblins to let them dish out some severe punishment for the crimes they did against you sweetheart.' Harry tightened his arms around her, trying to send over the message that he cared for her. "Anything unexplained could probably be attached to magic. And if you don't believe me, I think that there is a way to make you a believer." Harry replied to her question and stood up, easily lifting Zatanna into the air. The boy kept one arm under her legs while the other supported her back.

Zatanna was carried out of her room by her brother and her eyes took in her new house. White walls while old mosaic paintings out of the Rome period adorned the walls. Beautiful golden branches with leaves were painted around the artwork. Roman pillar columns supported life-sized busts of men and women. "Our parents descended from a long line of Roman Conquers and those life-size busts are to the likeness of our ancestors." Her new brother explained. "You aren't just Zatanna, our niece but much more. You're family and my sister, now what do you say when we discover a whole new world?" She smiled joyfully upon hearing him so loving and caring. It was the first time someone wanted her and that someone used her name so much. Zatanna felt that she belongs here with her new family. They descended down the long, broad white staircase, and at the base is the large living room which screamed wealth and style. They crossed the living room and stepped onto the veranda. "Zatanna I want to warn you that I call one of our servants. They look different but they are kind and loyal, please don't be afraid."

She nods her head, showing that she understood and waited. "Galad can you bring me the flying carpet?" Zatanna's eyes widened when a small being appeared in front of her. She clutched her brother's shirt tightly in fright. "Zatanna this is Galad, a House elf that works for our family. His people work for us and in return, he feeds on our magic to stay sane and alive. We live in a symbiotic lifestyle and won't let anyone tell you any different." Zatanna nods her head, showing that she understands him. "Galad can you fetch for me the flying carpet, please?"

Zatanna gasped and then hugged the stuff out of her brother. "You mean that we can fly with a Magic carpet, just like Aladdin?" She squealed in glee. The girl had seen Dudley watching that Disney movie with his parents, only once before they threw it away which was followed by heavy punishment from that man. She felt jealous of that boy, who was very loved by his parents but now, Zatanna had found her own loved family. "Just like Aladdin sis, shall we take flight?"

She felt her feet touching the wooden surface of the veranda and Zatanna quickly grasped her brother's hand, tightly. Galad returned with a blue-golden carpet, just like in the Disney animation, and spread it out over the ground. "Do have a good flight Master Harry and Mistress Zatanna." Said the elf, smiling at the two of them before disappearing with a pop. Zatanna skipped with a bright smile towards the carpet and then sat on it. Her brother joined her, sitting behind her, and then Zatanna felt the carpet floating upwards, leaving the ground. A cheer escaped her and she giggled when feeling the wind hit her in the face.

They flew circles through their mother's Roman garden, making sharp turns close to the statues of the Olympians Gods and Goddesses. Zigzagging around the columns before surging upwards into the air and making a loop. "Children… come down, it is time for lunch!" Zatanna peeked over the edge of the flying carpet when she heard a kind voice calling out to them, and saw a young woman with long flowing red hair waving at them from the ground. She recognized her as the person who held her when they were at the Dursleys.

"That is our mum, shall we fly down and join them for lunch?" Harry said and Zatanna could only nod before she felt the carpet diving down. She felt the air hit her, causing her long flowing raven black hair to hit her brother in the face if the sputtering of him was any clue. Before she knew it, Zatanna was back on the ground and tightly wrapped in a warm embrace with her new mother. "Hi mum, how was Gringotts?"

Lily released Zatanna from her hug, she then held her hand and gently guided her back into the manor. Her son followed her and Lily spoke. "Our meeting with the Goblins was good business. We offered them a large sum of gold, just to make them pay for the crime against a child. They gave us a vial that if Zatanna decides to join our family, she becomes our daughter with the blessing of our family's magic and blood. And last, we got a lot of medicine for her to recover her body from the abuse." In her arms, her face resting on the swell of Lily's breasts. Zatanna's eyes brimmed with tears.

"I..I want to have a mother who loves and cuddles me," Her green eyes look at equal green eyes of the beautiful woman with long flowing red hair. "I want a father, who hugs me and tells me how proud he is of me," Her eyes sought the brown, sparkling eyes of the man, his hair black and untamed and a roguish grin played on his lips. Zatanna's attention then turned to the boy that had played with her and bestowed the title of sister on her, already welcoming her into the family. "I want a real sibling, a brother who plays with me and takes me on adventures. I want a family that loves me for who I am."

James joined his wife and the girl, wrapping his arms around them. "You are loved daughter," he told her, bringing them lower to the floor until they sat together. "We have always wanted a daughter because we couldn't get a child of our own. Someone cursed me, stole away our chance of getting a child of our own." Zatanna buried her head into his chest, hugging him. "But we don't care anymore that we can have born children of our own because we have you Zatanna if you want to join us." The girl nods her head. "Just like Harry, you will be adopted in our family. The way how you joined us will be buried with magic and will be kept secret from the world."

"You can see that they care more about you than being my cousin Zatanna. I gladly call you my sister and anyone that will say otherwise or bully you will meet my fists." Harry said just when he joined them and the family had become complete.
