It wouldn't be until many years later, where Harry James Potter would find out that kidnapping is not a good way to make friends, or to meet people for that matter.
However, Holly was Holly and Holly always had a few lose screws in that head of hers. Sometimes he like to think that Luna was a lot saner than Holly ever was.
Holly though was his friend a little bit out there, a little strange and no Holly you can't go around wearing bowties when at Hogwarts. Nor, should she paint the school walls pink and Merlin, who gave Holly paint and how did she get it, so he can cut of her supplies. It would save them both from a lot of trouble.
Most of the time he spent himself making sure his friend wouldn't get into trouble, get killed or go missing during the day because really the woman had an attention span of a goldfish.
Where was he?
Oh, that's right kidnapping is a bad idea.
Granted he didn't know what kidnapping was when he was five and he also wasn't too sure if it counted as kidnapping. After all, when he met Holly that day in the park all those years ago, he was just wondering around trying his best to talk to someone, but found it terribly hard to do so because Dudley scared away everyone Harry spoke to.
Dudley couldn't, scared away Holly because when Dudley tried five-year-old Holly kicked Dudley in the knee. Took Harry by the hand and ran across the road where her parents lived, dragging him inside and telling him to take of his shoes. Merlin, forbid he walked into the Dane house wearing shoes (Mrs. Dane would faint at the sight.)
He supposed looking back at it and the more he thought about it the idea that it was kidnapping did make a lot of sense. The only thing he knew about her was that she had hazel eyes and she was picking at the grass, talking to herself about odd things. Something along the lines of evil wizard doing an awful job at being evil and should get a mentor to help him.
Which leads him here, years later sitting near Ron and Hermione, wondering where Holly had gone of to. And, please tell him she was at least still alive where he popped the question.
"Is it kidnapping if a five-year-old drags you to her house and ask her parents if you can live there?" he asked Hermione.
After all, if anyone would know Hermione would.
Ron choked on his food.
"What?" Ron asked.
"Did she asked you if you wanted to come over?" Hermione asked just as seriously as Harry was.
"No. She just got my name and drag me of."
"Then, yeah that's kidnapping. Why are you asking this Harry?" Hermione asked.
"Because that's how I met Holly," he answered happily.
"I'm not surprised," Ron mumbled.
"Where is Holly anyway?" Harry asked.
Since Holly still hadn't walked into the Great Hall.
"Something about purple paint and Professor Snape hair," Hermione said casually.
"Will there goes ten points," Ron said.
"Ron, Holly not in Gryffindor," Hermione pointed out.
"Yeah, but Snape would just take points of because everyone knows Harry and Holly are best friends. Isn't that right Harry. Harry?"
Because Harry James Potter was running out of the Great Hall, closing the doors behind him and forgetting his breakfast. All in the name to save Holly before she ends up painting Snape hair purple because Merlin that woman should not be left alone to her own derives.
