Chapter 2-The big event

Luke was up again making breakfast with Finn. They made a good team and both were enjoying their time together. Luke was loving cooking in their big kitchen. It seemed like Finn had every cooking gadget Luke could think of. There were even some that Luke knew he wanted to add to the new house's kitchen. After breakfast the girls went and got ready and the guys cleaned up the kitchen.

While the girls were gone Luke and Finn sat down and watched a basketball game on tv. It didn't take long for Luke to fall asleep. Finn saw he was asleep and got up and got him a blanket and went into the office to do some work. While he was there he went on to and ordered Luke some of the gadgets he was admiring this morning. He thought that they would make a fabulous house warming gift for their new house or a good Christmas present. Finn texted Rory that Luke had fallen asleep and to please be quiet when they came back in.

The ladies arrived back at about 3 looking very pampered. Lorelai quietly went and woke up Luke. He was flustered that he fell asleep and kept apologizing to Finn. Finn didn't mind at all and was secretly happy to know that Luke felt that comfortable in their home. The limo was coming for the 4 of them at 5 so the 4 of them retreated to their rooms to get dressed for the event.

The men looked dapper in their navy suits. Finn chose to wear his wedding suit again and not knowing Luke wore the same suit as he wore to their wedding. When the men met in the living room they both laughed. Rory looked beautiful in her blue dress that Finn had bought her as a wedding decoy dress. It looked even more beautiful on and Finn was extremely excited to show off his new bride. Lorelai wore a cranberry dress that was sleeveless with a lace overlay and a slit up the side. With her open toe black heels Luke was head over heels in love. The four of them got into the limo for the short ride to the party. Once there they meet up with David, Lynn, JP and Amelia. Everyone looked beautiful.

The 8 of them mingled with their guests and enjoyed the cocktail hour. The food was outstanding. Luke had been a little nervous that he wouldn't fit in but he was having a fabulous time. So far no one had noticed Finn and Rory's wedding bands or if they noticed they hadn't said anything. At 6:30 everyone moved into the main ballroom. Luke and Lorelai were seated with the family at the main table. Once everyone was seated JP took the microphone.

JP spoke and said, "We are going to make this short and sweet and thank you all for coming tonight but also thank you for a fabulous year. You should all be proud of yourselves as individuals and as a company. Thank you all for making this one of our best years. We appreciate you all."

Amelia got up next and said, "Thank you for the financial services group that caught that huge mistake this year and would have cost us all millions. We recognize you and all the hard work you have done. We recognize every department and are proud to have you here."

Finn was next and said, "Thank you all for coming and spending your Saturday night with all of us. Without further ado I would like to introduce you all to my wife, Rory. Yes, we know we have kept it a secret but we really didn't want a huge affair. We were married exactly one month ago. I hope that you will make her feel like part of the JP Morgan Chase family. We know you all had a choice to come tonight and we are thrilled that you were all able and willing to speed your Saturday night with all of us. Thank you for coming tonight."

Everyone there was surprised as most didn't even know that Finn had been dating anyone. Now all the phone calls and walking out of meetings made much more sense.

JP then took the mic and said, "Now that our family secret is out of the bag we all hope that you enjoy the rest of the evening of great food, great company and great dancing. Thank you for all coming to spend your Saturday night with all of us."

Finn motioned for JP to give him back the microphone and said, "Not exactly. We have one more surprise. Since you all are family this only seemed appropriate. Dad, are you ready to be a grandpa times two?"

JP stuttered and said, "A Grandpa times two. Really? Bloody Hell! Ok Congratulations are due to Finn and Rory and their growing family. Wow! This really made my night. Any more surprises we need to know about? That really is enough but I gotta ask."

Finn shook his head no!

Many many people came up to Rory and Finn and congratulated them on their wedding and the new babies. Everyone was so happy to see them so happy.

Barbara and her husband Bill came over to Rory and Finn and Finn said, "Now that the cat is out of the bag thank you Barbara for helping make my groomsman and bridal popcorn baskets. They were a huge hit. Sorry to keep such a huge secret from you."

Barbara replied, "So that's what they were for. I did wonder. I am so happy for you both. They really were fun to make. So nice to meet you Rory. You really got an amazing guy here. Congratulations on the wedding but also the new babies. So exciting!"

Lorelai and Luke were so happy to be told at the same time as JP and Amelia about the babies. They were excited to hear about their expanded family.

Everyone had an incredible time. Rory and Finn danced throughout the night. Luke and Lorelai are in awe with how sweet everyone was. They both had an amazing time. Everyone was sorry to see the evening end. They all got into the limo at midnight for their quick trip home.
