Chapter 2

The Journey

It's been 2 days since Merlina set off on her journey to Camelot. She goes through the gates knowing it is going to be difficult to find her uncle Gaius .she gets off her horse to search through the stores and ask around. she heads into a bar to ask if they have seen her uncle*

Merlina: Have you seen Gaius?

Drunk man:uhhh...nOoO MAY I SING TO YOU?

Merlina: no I'm quite fine.* she goes to the bartender*

Merlina: Excuse me……*ignored* Excuse me, sir.

Author: HEY MAN…..*sighs*this lady is trying to get your attention.

The bartender darts to the side of author and looks at Merlina*

Bartender: what do you want?

Merlina: I am looking for a man named Gaius

Bartender: Well that comes with a…….*interrupted*

Author: Ahhh...I know who and where that is if you give your name I will take you there.

Merlina hesitates to answer but gives him her nickname. The bartender rolls his eyes and goes about his day*

Merlina:You can call me Lina.

Author: alrighty …..Lina let's head Out, shall we?

Merlina walks out with Author with her head down. she can see from the corner of her eye author is staring at her, making her more tensed and scared. she begins to walk slower so she would not be next to him but he was in step with Merlina if she slowed down he slowed down if she stopped he stopped. Merlina felt like she was being mocked. Author then breaks the silence.

Author: Are you okay? Because you seem tense.

Merlina: uhhh yeah im…. Fine

Author: you do not have to be scared of me I am not gonna hurt you. I am only helping you cause it is not safe to be alone. plus we are going the same way so it is a win-win.

Merlina: Thank you but it is better to be precautious.

Author and Merlina make it to their destination*

Author: Sorry we have to separate here if you go straight up the hill you will see a gate once you get to that gate tell them about your uncle and where you from? oh, I never asked where you from?

Merlina: uh….*Goes to silences*

Author:...It is fine just say your from the valley and that your visiting.

Merlina: okay…..*hesitates* Thank you.

Merlina takes her walk up the hill with her horse seeing things she has never seen before. She realizes the further you go up the quieter it gets she then gets stopped by some guards and gets asked if she has seen a man with black hair and a tattoo that looks like two overlapping circles that form an almond shape in the center. Merlina does not remember the facial features of Author because she was looking down the whole walk with Author. She then answers with a no. the guy looks through Merlina to see if she lied and walked away to ask the next person, Merlina then proceeds up the hill and finally gets to the gate.

Gate Guard: What are you here for and where do you come from?

Merlina: I am here to stay with my uncle Gauis and… I come from the valley.

The guard looks at merlina sideways and seeks no further questions and lets merlina in. He gives merlina instructions on where to go. Merlina then looks up to realize that it is a castle and her uncle lives in a castle. Merlina proceeds into the castle doors and looks for help she asks another guard.

Merlina:Excuse sir...Do you know where Gaius is?

Guard: Who may you be to Gaius?

Merlina:..Im his niece im here to stay with him.

Guard: ah I see… go straight down the hall take a left there should be a door on the far end on the right.

Merlina:uh Thank you

Merlina does as the guard says and finally ends up to his door.she goes to knock on the door and the king comes down the hall.we make eye contact and i go back to knock on the door. While the king approaches me.

King: Why are you in my castle?

Merlina: I am here to stay with my uncle.

King: why would you stay with your uncle? I never stayed you...*interupped*

Gaius: How an i help the both of you?

Merlina: Wel..*interpped*

King: I need you to give me medicine for my headache

Gaius: And what do you want young lady?

Merlina:Uh...my mother Catherine sent me to you and she said…*interrupted*

Gaius: *COUGHS* come sit down then.

King: Well I hope she not staying here.

Gaius: Richard comes on now all that I have done for you.

King: Do not call me that...

Merlina sits down while Gaius and the king discuss whether she can stay or not. she goes to looks around and wonders off outside the door of Gaius' room she looks back to make sure they are not looking and proceeds out the door. As she walks down the hall she finds a cracked door and takes a peak and walks in. she goes to look around and finds a sword she goes to lay her hand on the sword and goes through a memory realm she begins to see the past of the sword many men and woman fighting in battle she then collapsed to the ground and only see a glimpse of a dark brown eyes black hair man before she passes out. she then wakes up to a hot towel on her head and her uncle above her making some kind of potion she opens her eyes a little wider to see what it is. she then tries to move a bit closer without moving her whole body to see what type of things he putting in it. Gaius' eyes dart straight to merlina.*

Gaius: Good you are up...now I can give you rules since your staying here……..
