"AaAaAaAaAaAhHhHhHhHhHhH!" *THUD* Izuku screamed and fell back out of his chair, landing on his behind. At the same time, two high pitched voices screamed as well. Inko just stared numbly at the whole scene with camera in hand.
There was a moment of tense silence followed by a mad scramble. Izuku rushed to peak at the living confectioneries, standing on his tippy toes and widening his eyes as if to see more.
"S-stay b-back! I'm wa-warning y-you!" The boy cookie said while pointing the bottom of his candy cane at Izuku like a spear. The girl cookie had hidden behind him, and was peaking out over his shoulder to see what the Midoriyas would do.
"Waaaaahhh! You're so cool!" Izuku cooed with twinkles in his eyes. "Do you have quirks? How did you come to life? Did a quirk cause you both to wake up? Are you hungry? Do you even eat? Can I-"
"I-Izuku h-honey…" Inko stuttered out. "I-I think we need to go to the quirk doctor."
The cookies and Izuku both turned to the elder greenette; one with shock and the others with cautious confusion.
"Quirk Doctor?" The girl asked.
Izuku's wide shimmering eyes got even bigger and brighter once he understood his mom's implication.
"You're my quirk!" The child squealed as he turned to the cookies.
Izuku tentatively reached for the animated gingerbread, but stopped his advance when his intended targets flinched back.
"It's ok!" Izuku said with a familiar smile. "Why? Because I AM HERE!" He said with a decent attempt at an interpretation of his idol. He figured if it worked for All Might, the it should work for him!
As it turned out, it did work to ease their fear. Instead, they looked bewildered and slightly amused. The girl began to giggle and stepped around the boy towards Izuku's awaiting hand.
"Hello Izuku! I'm Gingerbright! And this is my brother GingerBrave! It's great to meet you!" The now named GingerBright introduced.
"H-hey! You can't just tell them our names like that! You don't know what they want!" GingerBrave exclaimed.
"Oh shush you over baked dough ball! Izuku here and… I'm sorry what's your name, Miss?"
Startled at the sudden addressing, Inko remembered her manners.
"Oh! I'm terribly sorry! Where are my manners? I'm Midoriya Inko, Izuku's mom."
"Ooh! *giggle* Hi Mommadoriya! *giggle* Can I call you that?" The blushing cookie asked while leaning into Izuku's fingers. She giggled as he poked her stomach experimentally.
"Oh, of course! You're a part of my baby's quirk… you… are his quirk, right?"
"We don't know." GingerBrave stepped in. He used his candy cane to poke Izuku's hand; regarding the way the skin caved and bounced back with a keen interest. "But, if you say that the doctor can tell us about this 'quirk' thing, then we should hurry to see him!"
"This is my quirk! I knew it, I have a quirk! I'm so excited! Can I make cookies come to life? Ooh! I wonder if I could bring the others to life like you? I need to tell Kacchan! He'll be so happy!" Izuku rattled on. GingerBright started to hug his fingers as he brushed over her now hard frosting with stars in his eyes.
"We'll pack up the rest of the batch along with the decorations and take them with us to the doctor's office. I'm not sure that they have any specialists for cookie related quirks or if they will have any cookies made up for your testing." Inko pondered with a distant stare. "Now, go get cleaned up. You're covered in icing and flour from head to toe. You may be my little baker now but that doesn't mean you should look like one!"
Izuku grinned and cried out in excitement as his mom swept him off his feet. GingerBright retained her grip on his fingers and GingerBrave was clutching onto her.
"Mommadoriya!" GingerBrave cried out. GingerBright squealed in excitement along with the laughing Izuku as the quartet spun in circles.
Once the freckled boy was back on the ground, he went back to his room to change with his confectionery friends staying with his mother.

The Ginger siblings' first car ride was something to remember. GingerBrave was hiding in Izuku's hoodie pocket, peaking out every now and then to see how his sister was doing. Meanwhile, GingerBright had her face pressed against the glass whenever she wasn't bouncing between all of the windows.
"A-are we almost there?" GingerBrave asked timidly. "I think I might lose my sprinkles…" he said quietly.
Inko chuckled at the poor cookie's misfortune. "You could say you're about to toss your cookies."
Izuku giggled at his mom's pun. "Isn't that it up there momma?" Izuku asked while pointing to a little building with a sideways sign saying 'Mintd's Quirk Specialists' on a small incline.
"Yes it it sweetheart! Little Brave, you're in luck! Because we… are… here!" She said pulling into the parking lot and picking a spot by the door.
"Yes!" Izuku shouted while unbuckling his seatbelt and hopping out of the car. GingerBright was kneeling on his head and GingerBrave had climbed onto his shoulder so he could see.
Once Inko made sure that she had her purse and wallet, she locked the car and caught up to the trio. Izuku opened the door to the office, with some difficulty, and held it for his momma. She told Izuku to go pick where to sit while she checked him in to see the specialist who owned the practice: Dr. Mintd.
Izuku noticed that there were a few other kids waiting around the room with their parents. He saw some visible mutations, including a boy with a boulder like head who was holding a bunny.
After a few seconds of looking around, he decided he wanted to sit next to him.
"Hi!" Izuku beamed at the other child, startling him. "I'm Midoriya Izuku! Your bunny is so cute! Does she have to do with your quirk?"
"O-oh! You're t-talking to me?" The boulder headed child quietly asked. He was clearly not used to energetic interactions like this. Nonetheless, Izuku nodded in confirmation. "O-ok… Um… I'm Kōda Koji… a-and this is Jazzy! She says you're sweet… I think… and maybe something about cinnamon rolls…?" Kōda-kun introduced shyly in a near whisper. He trailed off in confusion at the end, looking at his long eared friend with a great amount of focus.
"Waaah! You can talk to animals!? That's so cool!" Izuku gushed with sparkling eyes. Kōda-kun jumped back and cowered slightly at being under such blinding attention. "Do they all sound the same? Can you hear all animals, or just rabbits? You said you think she said that, was it unclear? Did it sound faint like mumbling or like it was a different language? Do you – OW!"
"Leave the poor guy alone Izu! You're scaring him with all of your questions!" GingerBright exclaimed while releasing her grasp on his curls.
"Ah… I'm sorry! I just get so excited about quirks…" Izuku sheepishly apologized. He gave a nervous smile and rubbed the back of his head. "Oh! This is GingerBright!" Izuku grabbed said cookie off his head and held her out with an open palm.
She gave a flourish and a wink. "How do you do?"
"And this is GingerBrave!" Izuku said while presenting him in a similar fashion to his sister.
"Howdy!" The elder Ginger Twin greeted with hands on his hips and chest puffed out in a flex.
Luckily, Kōda-kun was too enraptured by the cookies to remember the overwhelming bombardment of questions. Staring with wide eyes, the animal whisperer tentatively reached out to touch the cookies, as if to see if they were real. GingerBright was more than happy to indulge him; reaching forward and shaking his finger with both arms.
"Hi G-GingerBright! You're a r-real cookie?" Kōda-kun asked.
GingerBright twisted around to show her flat sides and back, which was frosted with more ruffles and her ponytail. (Izuku has no idea how that happened, but is too young to question it.)
"I am! Izu baked me with lots of love with his mom's help! Izuku frosted me all by himself. My brother too!" She bragged, looking back to her maker at the end.
Meanwhile, the bunny reached up and sniffed GingerBrave, causing him to poke her nose with his candy cane and crawl up Izuku's arm out of her reach. She tried to follow him, but Izuku was not expecting the weight of the rabbit and his arm tilted down with her weight. In response to the sudden directional shift, GingerBrave began to slide back towards Jazzy. Seeing his death awaiting him in those curious green orbs, he knew he had to do something! With a high pitch cry, the sentient confection tried to climb back up Izuku's arm only to be grabbed up.
"There you go sweetheart." A gentle feminine voice said. Looking up to his savior, GingerBrave was met with an older female version of Kōda-kun. She had bouffant blond hair and two branch like horns protruding from the sides of her head. Her warm smile was tinted pink with a shiny lipstick.
The removal of his friend caught Izuku's attention, causing him to look to the woman who resembled his new friend. "Hello Midoriya-kun." She greeted warmly. "My name is Kōda Annya, it's lovely to meet you. Your mother told me you just discovered your quirk today, is that right?"
"Y-yes ma'am! It's great to meet you!" Izuku bowed in greeting. He then noticed his mom sitting next to Kōda-san. She shot him an amused look and a wave.
"Kōda Koji for doctor Dr. Ferdinand." A nurse called from the door to the waiting area. Kōda-kun and Izuku looked at one another, neither wanting to separate from their new friend. Jazzy shifted in her owner's arms, desperate to calm him out of his upset state of mind.
With reluctance, mother and son stood to go back to their appointment. Before they could go more than a few steps, Inko pulled out a piece of mint bubble gum and unwrapped it. She popped the gum into her mouth and pulled out a pen. She scribbled on the wrapper and handed it to Kōda-san. "Here's my number." The greenette explained. "Give me a call and we can set up a play date for our boys!"
"That sounds wonderful!" Kōda-san replied with a large smile. Turning to Izuku from the door where her son had disappeared into, she gave one last comment "Good luck Midoriya-kun, I know you'll do great during your testing today!"
"Thank you Kōda-san!" He called back.
The door shut and the waiting room was quiet once more. Before Izuku could get comfortable, the nurse popped back out of the door and called for her next patient.
"Midoriya Izuku for Doctor Mintd."

Izu has friends looking out for him no matter what~!also, thank you for your feedback. It made me feel confident about my style and excited to get another chapter out to you!
Thank you to everyone who commented, followed and favorited! You have made my week so much better! I actually meant to get the next cookie into this chapter but the plot bunny named Jazzy grabbed that and yeeted it out of the window. But hey! New friends are great! Fun fact, I used to have a rabbit named Jazzy, so I had to name Kōda's bunny that in remembrance.
I love you all! See you next time!
