Chapter two.
"Sugar?" Summer calls, her voice shaky from the sadness and guilt she knows she's going to cause.
"What is it, babe?" Beau says as Bailey takes the kids upstairs for bed.
The two of them now in the lounge room alone.
"I-I have to tell you something, and I know you're not gonna like it. But please don't hate me" Summer rambled, tears forming in her eyes.
"What, Summer you can tell me, I won't hate you" Beau says putting his hands on her arms.
Summer sniffled keeping her tears back, trying to be strong. She turned away from Beau and out of his embrace.
"I want to break up" She said instantly hating herself after the words left her mouth. Turning around to see the shock on her lover's face.
"What!?" Beau said his voice sounding both angry and hurt.
"I can't say it again, Beau" Said Summer her voice cracking.
"Why?"
"You've got to be blind to not see it" Summer started.
"Blind about what, is another one of your ways to manipulate me?" Beau said almost breaking down.
"We're not meant to be together Beau, your love for me isn't love" Summer said tears now flowing down her face.
"Summer I will do anything to show how much I love you, just please don't leave" Beau said as Summer walked closer to the front door.
"I'm sorry Beau, but we're done" Summer said her heart shattering as she walked out of the Haywood's family home.
Shutting the door to her car, she finally broke. Tears streaming freely down her face as her heart ached. But she knew what she had to do, he loved her. He loved bailey even if he wasn't able to admit it to himself, he does. And she isn't there to hold him back anymore.
The door shut closed, and Beau was standing there his heart broken, shattered…Again.
"Beau, I heard- are you okay?" Bailey said weary of the heartbroken man Infront of her.
"I'm fine Bailey" Beau said sharping.
"I'm sorry, I'm just going to go to bed, you should do the same" Beau sighed before going upstairs.
Bailey quickly tidied up the downstairs lounge and kitchen before going upstairs herself.
Walking through the hallway Bailey realised what had happened during the past 24 hours, the concert felt so far away from the recent events.
"Bailey?" Chloe called out from her doorway.
"What are you doing out of bed, sweetheart?" Bailey asked the tired six-year-old.
"What did Summer mean downstairs?" Chloe asked.
"She broke up with daddy, Chloe" Kassidy said coming out of her bedroom and into the hallway.
"Kassidy!?" Bailey exclaimed.
"So, she's gone?" Chloe said happiness seeping into her voice.
"Yes, she is, but we'll all be there for Beau, because he's feeling a little down now, okay?" Bailey said eyeing Kassidy.
"Okay" Chloe responded as Kassidy nodded in agreement.
"Right, now off to bed, I didn't tuck you in for nothing" Bailey said lifting the mood as she walked back into Chloe's room.
Following Chloe as she jumped onto her bed, Bailey noticed how much of a hole in their life she had filled.
If she weren't here, she wondered what the kids would have done., how they would have felt. She felt sorry for them, since being here she had made a bond with all the kids. One that she didn't want to lose.
"Okay you ready?" Bailey asked sitting down next to Chloe's bed.
"Mhm" Chloe said pulling the covers up to her.
"Okay, goodnight" Bailey said before turning off the bedside light off and walking to the door.
"Goodnight mummy" the tired Chloe called out, not even correcting herself.
"Hey" Kassidy said as Bailey shut the door to Chloe's room.
"Oh- Jesus!" Bailey exclaimed.
"Kassidy what are you doing, you're supposed to be in bed" Bailey said, recovering from her scare.
"You tucked Chloe in" Kassidy said her voice now weary and tears in her eyes.
"Kass" Bailey sighed her voice now sympathetic.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bite" Bailey said taking the nine-year-old into her arms.
"Is it bad, that I feel happy about Summer leaving. I mean I feel bad for daddy, but I don't like Summer" Kassidy said now crying into Bailey's embrace.
"No, Honey. Losing your mum was hard, it will and always will be, and not liking Summer is just how you felt. No one's gonna judge you" Bailey said comforting the girl that she come attached to.
"But what if he finds someone else, and what if that person's worse than Summer?" Kassidy said getting herself worked up.
"Hey, it's clear that your dad won't be dating anytime soon, but if or when he does find someone else, you have to tell him. He'll understand" Bailey explained, sympathising for the distressed tween.
The two stayed there in each other's embrace for longer than they realised, before Kassidy went to bed falling asleep soundly.
Before Bailey herself went to bed she checked up the boys wanting to make sure they were okay with the events that happened downstairs.
First checking on Dylan, who was soundly asleep looking like he hadn't heard a thing.
Then to Brody. Opening the door Bailey almost tripped and fell, making the hormonal teenage boy look over to his nanny at his doorway.
"Bailey?" Brody called out.
"Sorry" Bailey said internally cursing herself for being clumsy.
"What are you doing here?" Brody asked freaking out and reaching out for his cologne.
"Just checking your asleep, and you're not" Bailey said.
"Well… I was before" Brody gulped, with Bailey giving him a look.
"Okay, okay I'll go to sleep" Brody said lying back down.
"Good and clean your room sometime tomorrow" Bailey said before shutting the door.
Walking down the hallway Bailey hoped that Tuck would be asleep, she didn't have much energy left in her.
About to open the door Tuck called out to her, "I'm Fine, go to sleep Bailey"
Cringing Bailey walked to her room, closing the door. Getting undressed into her Pj's and flopping onto her bed completely exhausted.
Thinking that she would greet sleep easily and quickly, she closed her eyes. But to no avail, thoughts just kept hitting her.
Mostly of the heartbroken man, only down the hallway to her.
'Stop Bailey, he's your boss. You can't think of him that way, you don't like him' She told herself. But she wasn't so sure, telling herself she didn't like Beau. That's just wrong he's taken. Or was taken.
Completely confused with her feelings Bailey finally fell into a dreamless sleep.
Without shedding a tear, completely exhausted Beau lied there in his bed, alone. He thought his feelings would have come out by now, but he had been wrong.
Summer had been his rock through his wife's death, now not having her here with him, both his feelings for her and his wife had been bottling up inside of himself.
It was early morning, normally he would be downstairs eating breakfast happily with him and his kids.
But instead, he was upstairs in his bed ignoring the rest of the world.
Suddenly knocking was heard from his door. Bailey came in dressed in casual denim jeans and a rock band t-shirt, till now he hadn't realised how beautiful she could be dressed so simply.
"Hey, the kids I made you breakfast. We thought you'd like to eat up here" Bailey said placing the breakfast tray next to his bed.
"Thanks Bailey" Beau said.
"How you holding up?" Bailey asked seeing the tired rings under Beau's eyes.
"Alright, I-uh… how did you get through it, your break-up with Boone?" Beau asked.
"Well, I didn't just get over it in one night, remember how much of a reck I was" Bailey said sitting next to him on his bed.
"Yeah" Beau said a laugh escaping his mouth remembering that stormy night.
"It takes time Beau; you'll get past it. I had you guys when I broke up with Boone, and you'll have us" Bailey said looking into his blue eyes.
"it's just- I mean, I haven't shed a tear, not one" Beau said his emotions seeping through.
Bailey didn't say anything, she just hugged him and held him tight. Beau finally broke tears and emotions spilling out.
They didn't know how long they had spent like that but all they knew was that they liked it. Something stirring inside of each of them.
"How long does it take to give him breakfast?" Dylan said.
"Daddy's heartbroken, she's obviously consoling him" Kassidy said.
"But still, they've been up there for two hours" Dylan said.
Not long after Bailey returned with an empty breakfast tray, and a slight blush on her checks.
"What did you two do up there?" Chloe asked.
"Nothing Chloe I just gave him his breakfast" Bailey answered.
"For two hours?" Tuck, Brody, Dylan and Kassidy asked.
"And gave him some advice" Bailey said feeling her blush deepen.
"Any way, I've got jobs to do, so go do something it's your Saturday after all" Bailey said before walking out of the kitchen.
"She's blushing" Chloe said.
"Do you think she likes daddy?" Kassidy asked in a whisper.
"Do you think daddy likes her?" Tuck asked with the five of them just returning silence instead of an answer.
