Juleka Couffaine had been the first to be there at her best friend and crush Rose Lavillant's house in the morning when Rose texted them about wanting to start rehearsals for the new band Kitty Section. Most of the other people had arrived able to come here on short notice as Juleka was being asked about her brother Luka who she was thinking could join them as lead guitarist.
"He's the best, I would have asked him to join us today but he's got a movie date with this girl that he met at a rock and roll convention he went to. Haven't met her yet but I heard him playing the song that she makes his heart sing." Juleka explained with Rose squealing about how romantic that it sounded and Juleka had a big smile while talking. She was waiting for Luka to bring the girl home so that she and their Mum can meet her. They looked and saw that Alya was coming inside looking disappointed. "Something wrong Alya?" Juleka asked as they all looked at her in concern.
"Just that I texted Marinette and she said that she was busy wanting to go see a movie." Alya replied and that sounded like a downer as recently a group get together didn't feel the same without Marinette. "But she sent over photos of her designs, I think she outdone herself this time." Alya said her face becoming a smile as she was showing them her phone and they designs did look good.
Perhaps they can ask Marinette how soon she could get them done for them and maybe pitch in with money for the materials to help the process go faster.
Things were going well for a couple of hours but then Rose ended up blowing out her microphone with it needing to be fixed which seemed to be a downer. "Don't sweat it Rose, I have a spare at home and do you know what? My brother should be back from his date by now so you can come to him." Juleka suggested and they were down for it.
They followed Juleka to her home the Liberty and waited by the plank as Juleka checked the door and saw that it was unlocked. She heard the faint sound of Luka talking to someone asking if it was a comfortable place to kiss the most beautiful girl in all of Paris. She was thrilled and excited upon realising that Luka had brought his new girlfriend home and she could get to meet her!
She opened the door and was surprised and her eyes widened when she came in and saw Marinette there with Luka. "Juleka, what are you doing here?" Marinette asked just as surprised as Juleka was and she thought that she should be the one asking the question in reverse.
"This is my home, what are you doing with my brother..." Juleka asked and then stood there thinking of something: the same convention that Luka had gone to was the one that Marinette was excited to get to go when her parents got her tickets after being selected for catering. Marinette said that she was going out to see a movie and Luka had said that he had gone out to see a movie with this new girlfriend of his.
Could it be?
"Wait... Luka, is Marinette the girl you have met at the convention and have been seeing?" Juleka asked and didn't wait for an answer as she stepped outside to take a minute.
"Everything alright Juleka?" Alya asked as they looked at her in concern and apart of Juleka wanted to tell them what she had just saw since Marinette had apparently been seeing her brother behind their backs without knowledge (wasn't it Adrien that she was into?) but Marinette obviously wanted to keep it a secret and should she basically gossip about her brother and her friend?
"Sorry, just walked into Luka with his girlfriend... How about I see you back at the house?" Juleka asked hoping they could buy it and they looked suspicious but nodded as they left. Juleka then entered through the door and said "Alya and the others outside I said I would meet them back at Rose's house."
"Thank you for this Juleka." Marinette said looking gratefully before sighing and sitting back down as Juleka did so as well. "Juleka, I truthfully didn't know that Luka was your brother. I decided that i wanted a break from chasing Adrien and the convention came up and I thought that it was the perfect place to enjoy myself and forget all about it. I met Luka there and he was amazing and we swapped numbers afterwards, we started dating and I didn't want Alya and the others to know because I was afraid you all would want to help with a crazy scheme which I didn't want to ruin. I had forgotten your surname Juleka so I totally didn't realise that he was your brother." Marinette said talking fast looking apologetically as Luka comforted her with a smile and a hand on her shoulder telling her to breath.
Juleka thought that with how forgetful Marinette was, she could see her not realising Luka's connection through their surnames and she could understand if Marinette did end up not wanting to do anything to jeopardise a romantic relationship of hers. She definitely knew how many potential chances with Adrien were squandered when a scheme went array.
"So you and Luka, are you able to speak full sentences with him?" Juleka asked with a smile as she looked flabbergasted as Luka chuckled.
"You're friend is the most amazing girl Juleka, other than you of course." Luka said as Marinette blushed.
"We are still doing rehearsals so if you have time do you want to come with me? I can make the excuse that I saw you on the way there after your movie finished?" Juleka asked and Marinette nodded silently asking Luka if it was alright to cut their time short. Luka nodded as Juleka got the spare mic and they walked out together.
"So... Juleka... Are you alright with me going out with your brother?" Marinette asked hesitantly and Juleka smiled in return.
"Why wouldn't I be Marinette? You're one of the best people I know Marinette and Luka looks happy." Juleka replied and Marinette smiled. "So what are you going to tell Alya the next time she thinks of a way to get you and Adrien together?" Juleka asked and Marinette muttered that she would rather not think about that at the moment.
