It was boring waiting for nightfall. All of them had taken turns resting as they hadn't slept in over twenty-four hours. They nibbled on their food cautious not to each too much. It would have to last them a few days. They stayed in the ship. The area around it was eerie. It seemed ancient yet timeless and it make all of their skins itch. The ship at least looked like a ship and the gentle hum of it in standby helped calm them.

The sun had sunk over the horizon twenty minutes ago and then were starting the ship up. It was an old design, so it took more time and care than they were used to but by the time the first stars really started to shine the ship was hovering and ready to go.

All of them were quiet. This plan of theirs was a long shot but it was the best they had. They knew they had to jump into hyperspace the moment they left the atmosphere. Poe and Finn wouldn't be able to make reasonable excuses for them if they lingered. They shared a look. It was now or never. Rey was the pilot with Ben as her second. Rose was just along for the ride and weapons if they needed them, but all hoped they didn't.

They lifted out of the shuttle bay and hovered for a moment above ground. They checked their sensors and were satisfied how far away the nearest ship was. They pushed out of the atmosphere at a quicker pace than was normally recommended. They let out a breath they had been holding when they broke the atmosphere and jumped into hyperspace.

The first thing any of them did was sleep. They had a few hours to kill before they could safely contact the First order and let them know they were on their way. They wanted to make sure they were a good distance away from the rebellion before they called. Rose was nervous. This would the first time she had to play her part. They had discussed that it would give authenticity if she were to renounce the Rebellion when they contacted Hux. She found the idea of talking to Hux disgusting after they met previously. She found him more of a petulant child than she originally thought Kylo, Ben and that was saying something.

Ben was nonchalant. He had many dealings with lying to Hux and he wasn't that concerned about it. It would take some time to get what they wanted but lying to Hux wouldn't be the issue, getting him to believe the lie was. He would have to be more convincing than he's ever been, pure anger wouldn't get him far here. He would have to play on Hux's logic which was something neither of them were used to. It might be enough to through Hux off just enough to get away with the lie. They needed Hux on their side. They wouldn't be able to dismantle the First Order otherwise.

They were all in the control room, Rey and Rose just out of sight. They all took a deep breath as the waited for Hux to accept the transmission.

"This is General Hux," Hux said as he popped onto the screen. "To what do I owe this pleasure?" He asked when he noticed it was Ben.

"Hello, Hux you know very well why I'm contacting you. Give me and update on the plan to destroy the Rebels."

"We've had some difficulties," Hux sneered. "The weapon has had some difficulties being built. We are behind schedule."

"By how much?"

Hux hesitated.

"Tell me how much Hux."

"Three weeks."

"How is that possible?" Kylo sneered.

"A group of stormtroopers decided they wanted to sabotage the weapon. They did some considerable damage before they were captured and executed." Hux smirked, "more rebellious filth taken care of in your absence."

"I'm glad you know how to do your job, except of course keeping me safe."

"Supreme Leader may I ask how you escaped captivity?"

"I helped him," Rose spoke up and entered Hux's field of view.

"You, I'm going to kill you."

"Yes, me and I doubt your, rather our Supreme Leader would like that. Besides you need me."

"I don't need filthy traitor consorting scum."

"You need to watch what you say to her," Kylo commanded. "She has useful information for us."

"They why don't you just extract it and leaver her?"

"Because she is willing," Kylo said as he placed a hand on Rose's hip.

"You disgust me," Hux spat.

"Now, that we're past that, I want you to stop any and all repairs and construction on the weapon. I want to review everything myself when I get there. Plus, Rose here has giving me very special information. We need to reevaluate our plan."

"We could still continue with the weapon, Sir," Hux forced out.

"There you are going again being hasty and rash."

"This coming from the man who got himself captured by the enemy."

"It was all part of the plan. I'll explain more when I get to you. You are to meet at the coordinates I just sent you. I have more than just a turncoat here." He pulled Rey into view before cutting off the connection.

"That went well," Rey said pushing herself into a more comfortable position.

"Did it?" Rose questioned.

"For now, he will question us more when we arrive, which will be in two days. We have time to plan and get our story straight." Ben got up from the pilot's chair.

Rose felt weird in her skin as she left. Seeing Hux again if only on a view screen let her in a mood she couldn't pinpoint. She was anxious yet somehow relieved and glad. She didn't know what she was glad about but whatever it was it made her nervous. Then there was the general since of foreboding over the entire thing. She wished Finn was he here. He always knew how to calm her down, once he stopped to calm himself down first in whatever situation they were in.

"Well, you're just an odd mix of emotions," Rey said without turning around to look at Rose.

"How can you tell?"

"For some reason this ship makes me extra perceptive. It's odd but I'm not complaining." She turned around. "Seeing Hux had an off effect on you didn't it, at least it was not what you expected."

"He made the order to shoot down the ships. I was there when he did. But when I saw him there was anger yes but there wasn't hate. How can I not hate a man who I witnessed make the order to kill so many people?"

"Do you hate Ben?"

"No, but I hadn't met him before we imprisoned him. I've met Hux before however briefly and at least Ben has given me a reason think he has changed. Hux seems like the same asshole I met before."

"People change and grow, maybe you saw something different this time that you just can't place," Rey suggested.

"That doesn't make me feel any better."

"I know, I have an idea of what will. Finn told me how to calm you down before we left. Shall we have a show?"

Rose blushed as Rey smiled.

"Will he be okay with it?" Rose asked softly.

"He better be. He'll be our audience after all."

"You are allowed to watch but not to touch," Rey explained as she forced him down into a chair.
